About Us
At Ashbourne Day Nurseries, we provide high-quality, child-centred care in a warm, fun, and inclusive environment. Founded in 2008, we have grown from our first nursery in Oxley Park, Milton Keynes, into a group of nurseries located in a variety of unique settings, including purpose-built nurseries, farm locations, and listed buildings.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and are committed to inclusive practice, ensuring that children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are fully supported to thrive. Our nurseries are places where children feel safe, valued, and understood, and we are looking for a passionate SEN Nursery Nurse to help us continue delivering exceptional care and support.
Your Role as a SEND Co-Ordinator
As a SEND Co-Ordinator you will play a vital role in supporting children with additional needs, including communication difficulties, developmental delays, and social or emotional needs. You will work closely with key persons, SENCOs, and families to ensure tailored support is in place for each child.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role where your patience, understanding, and specialist skills will have a direct and positive impact on children’s development and well-being.
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing individual and small-group support to children with SEN
Supporting children’s learning and development through adapted, inclusive, and engaging activities
Observing, assessing, and recording progress in line with EYFS and SEN support plans
Implementing strategies from Individual Support Plans, EHCPs, or professional guidance
Creating a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
Supporting children with personal care, routines, and emotional regulation where required
Building strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals
Working collaboratively with the nursery team and SENCO to promote inclusive practice
Ensuring safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed at all times
About You
You hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification
You have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in an early years or childcare setting
You have a good understanding of the EYFS framework and inclusive practice
You are patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs
You are confident in adapting activities and approaches to meet individual needs
You work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and families
You are committed to promoting equality, inclusion, and safeguarding

Skills / Qualifications:
- Level 3 in Childcare and Education
- Experience in SEND
