Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice Nursery
Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This
paid apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals
passionate about childcare and child development to gain practical
experience in a supportive environment. The role involves assisting
qualified practitioners in delivering high-quality care and
educational activities tailored to young children’s needs. The
successful candidate will develop essential management and leadership
skills while fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
for children aged from infancy to preschool age.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, nappy changing, and rest times, ensuring children’s comfort and safety.
- Observe and record children’s progress, behaviour, and interests to inform planning and individualised care.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
- Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding practices.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages children’s curiosity and independence.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential; a genuine interest in early childhood education is required.
- Knowledge of nursery routines, childcare practices, or early years’ curriculum frameworks is advantageous.
- Demonstrated management or leadership qualities are beneficial for future growth within the role.
- Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate flexible transportation arrangements if required. This apprenticeship provides valuable hands-on experience in a professional childcare setting, fostering skills that will support career progression within early childhood education or management roles.
