Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner

Job summary

Blackshaw Nursery offers high quality childcare services to both the staff of St Georges hospital and the famillies in the local community. We provide full and part time placements in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. Our nursery is committed to fostering the development of children through engaging activities, encouraging a love for learning and supporting their social and emotional growth. Located in Tooting, we prioritize collaboration with parents and caregivers to best support each child's unique needs.

We cater for children aged 1-5 years.

We are looking for qualified, reliable, enthusiastic and nurturing childcare staff to work with us full time or part time (2 or 3 set days). 8 hour shifts (including break) will be worked within our opening times.

Role Description

• To be aware and understand the needs of the users of the nursery.
• To treat every child as a unique individual whilst respecting their cultures,religion,choices and different stages of development and capabilities.
• To be a team player and support each other in any way possible.
• To be a good role model.
• Provide an inclusive service for care and education ensuring that activities planned and carried out are sensitive to the diverse background of the children.
• To keep records on the children as neccessary.
• Demonstrate skills in communication,including the ability to effectively interact with the children, parents and colleagues.
• Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and planning.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that support children’s development.
• Promote children’s independence, confidence, and well-being.
• Knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations,safeguarding and first aid is an advantage.
