Blackshaw Nursery

I'm so happy we moved our son here a year ago. The exceptionally kind staff helped him settle in smoothly and he's so much happier than he was in his previous nursery. The outdoor space is incredible; he loves having such a large area to run around in and there's some great outdoor equipment and toys. The opening hours work really well for us too. Thank you Blackshaw Nursery!

Both my children went here, am staff at the hospital. They don't run for profit so the staff retention is very good and many have been there for decades and really know what they're doing. The children have both loved it there and would highly recommend!

We have been so happy with the care, love and attention that our daughter has been shown since she started at the nursery aged 1.5 by all the staff. Our daughter has been allowed to explore and be inquisitive and this has been nurtured by all the staff. She knows her all of her teachers which is a very important point for us. The food is nutritious and good quality. There is a lot of encouragement for the children to play together and there have been some wonderful friendships formed. The garden is a brilliant asset and is well used and enjoyed by the children. We would happily recommend anyone to send their child here.

We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a caring environment, one where staff care for their children as if they were their own. We highly recommend to any parent looking for a caring, supportive and enriching environment.

Very kind staff and family atmosphere. I can't really fault the nursery, my daughter is very happy there, and I am always struck by the kindness and positive relationship between the staff and the children. There seems to be plenty of activities, with toys swapped and changed out regularly, and plenty of arts and crafts for all different holidays during the year. The nursery is very multicultural and has a very inclusive atmosphere, and we get good communication and feedback from the staff and management.

As our youngest prepares to leave this August, it's incredibly emotional to say goodbye to a place that has meant so much to us. Blackshaw has been a true gift to our family.

I have been using the nursery since June 2018 for my 2 children and continue to use it now. It is absolutely brilliant. Loving, kind, flexible and warm environment. Long-standing staff who seem to love the kids and are very patient. Lots of celebrations throughout the year. Big fun outdoor area. Never worry about my children during the working day knowing that they are being looked after with love and care, which is invaluable when missing out on a lot as working parents.

Many of the staff have been there for many years and take great care and pride in all the children. The nursery is small, so all the children are well known. Since attending, our son's development has come on in leaps and bounds and he looks forward to going every day. I highly recommend the nursery.
