At the LTHT nurseries you will be joining a dedicated, supportive team providing quality childcare predominantly to Leeds NHS employees.
We provide care for around 129 preschool children across two Leeds-based settings, MondayFriday from 7am 6pm all year round (excluding Bank Holidays). Each setting is unique and we celebrate the differences and experiences our employees bring to us.

Main duties of the job
Take the lead and support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure the service complies with relevant legislation, policy and procedures set by Ofsted and the Trust.
To support and mentor other practitioners in their skills and behaviours whilst safeguarding and promoting good outcomes for the children.
Supervise the nursery team to promote excellence at all times.
to lead in planning, implementing and evaluating play using Early Years Foundation Stage
Working in partnership to provide individual support to children and their families through recording developmental milestones.
develop and record play and care plans for the individual child
to take the lead in behavioural issues and Special Educational Needs of the setting in particular organize initial meetings with parents, writing and implementing Individual Education Plans, meeting with multi agencies and leading the meetings on behalf of the nursery setting for the childs individual needs. To attend regular case/review meetings for each individual child.
to develop networks both in-house and external with other EYPs to benchmark and share good practice.
Maintain effective communication strategies to promote partnership with parents across the service whilst actively supporting the development of childrens language and communication skills, delivering important information to parents whether about their childs development or more emotional bound issues.
Skills / Qualifications:
- It is essential that the jobholder holds a childcare qualification recognised by Ofsted. (NNEB
- CACHE
- BTEC and NVQ level 3) and a relevant degree and the Early Years Professional Status.
