Position: Room Manager

Hours: 40 hours per week, all year round

Salary: £29,120 to £30,680

Opening Hours: 7.30 am to 6.00 pm

What we are looking for:

We’re seeking a special individual who along with a full and relevant Level 3 early years qualification and leadership experience, can bring and share their fun, passion and confidence as an early years professional to lead our vibrant room. As Room Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping children’s daily experiences, guiding your team, and ensuring high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Leading the planning and delivery of a high-quality, child-centred EYFS curriculum
  • Creating and maintaining inspiring indoor and outdoor learning environments
  • Building strong bonds as room manager and key person, supporting children’s development and working closely with families
  • Supporting and motivating your team to ensure best practice and positive outcomes
  • Leading calm, inclusive routines and transitions throughout the day
  • Overseeing observations, assessments, and next-step planning
  • Managing risk and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment
  • Leading team reflections and driving continuous improvement
  • Keeping up to date with best practice and supporting team development
  • Assisting the management team with other management tasks such as opening & closing, administrative duties / 3rd in charge duties as required

Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, as all new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

  • Full & Relevant Early Years Qualification Level 3 or above
