Nursery Nurse – Join Our Caring and Creative Team!

Are you passionate about early years education and creating a nurturing, stimulating environment for young children? Abbey School is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Nurse to join our team and support the development and care of children aged 0–4 years in one of our five (soon to be six!) nursery rooms.

We also offer the opportunity for the right candidate to take on or progress into a Senior Nursery Nurse role.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide high-quality childcare in a warm, safe, and stimulating environment
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities based on the EYFS framework
• Support children with SEND and contribute to individual learning journeys
• Build strong, professional relationships with families and colleagues
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance with safeguarding and health & safety policies
• Participate in our Nursery Holiday Club during school holidays, offering fun and creative activities

What We’re Looking For:

• A relevant Level 3 childcare qualification (minimum)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working within an Early Years setting
• Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum
• Confident, caring and professional communicator
• A team player with creativity, flexibility, and a positive approach

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience in Pre-School (3 to 4s)
• Experience supporting children with SEND
• Safeguarding and Pediatric First Aid training

Location: Abbey School, St Marychurch, Torquay, TQ1 4PR
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday either term time or all year round
Salary: £19,722.92 (term time) to £24,082.50 (all year round)
