Located between Wymondham and Attleborough, Hummingbird Preschool is an exceptional early years setting owned by qualified primary teachers with extensive educational experience. Inspired by the Story of the Hummingbird, and the ethos of "doing the very best possible," the preschool delivers a holistic, child-centred provision designed to cultivate curiosity, self-confidence, and school readiness.
Operating year-round from Monday to Friday (7:30 am to 6:00 pm), the setting integrates a rich array of daily activities. Children regularly engage in outdoor learning, sensory play, engineering, and water play. The curriculum is intentionally structured around curiosity, messy and creative play, and ecological learning. Driven by eco-conscious values, the setting has earned the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag Award every year since 2022.
Following a June 2024 inspection, Ofsted officially rated Hummingbird Preschool 'Good' across all key areas. The inspector praised the environment and practice, highlighting that:
• Effectiveness: Safeguarding is entirely effective.
• Personal Development: Children flourish within a calm, well-organised, and vibrant atmosphere.
• Community Relations: Staff and management maintain strong and open connections with parents.
The setting successfully creates a nurturing, secure environment where children aged 9 months - 4 years, build the critical independence, social, and communication skills needed for a smooth transition into primary school.

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 50 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 50 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.8 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.
