Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Rickmansworth

I have always had a strong interest in education from a young age and have always said that I wanted to become a teacher when I grew up. My passion for working with children has continued throughout my life and has ultimately led me to owning and operating nurseries.

I am very fortunate to have a supportive family around me. My husband helps with the day-to-day household responsibilities, allowing me to dedicate my time and energy to my nurseries. My mum supports me with childcare and also works at my Harrow nursery, while my dad regularly helps with DIY and maintenance. Having their support has been invaluable, both personally and professionally.

When opening a nursery, my priority has always been to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel happy, secure and excited to learn. When I opened Monkey Puzzle Harrow, I was passionate about creating the best possible experience for the children in my care, including having my own children attend the nursery. I wanted to ensure that the nursery was somewhere I would feel completely comfortable leaving my own children, and that philosophy continues to guide everything I do.

When I took over Monkey Puzzle Chesham, I made a commitment to the existing parents that I would bring the same passion, dedication and personal approach to improving the nursery. I promised to treat the nursery as though my own children were attending, and I am proud of the progress we made, turning the nursery around within just five months. I also have family and friends whose children attend both of my nurseries, which makes the quality of care and experience we provide particularly important to me.

My overall philosophy is to make learning fun and create an environment where children feel valued, supported and excited to come back every day. I believe children learn best when they are happy, engaged and surrounded by caring, passionate staff.

Opening Monkey Puzzle Harrow at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic presented significant challenges and required us to adapt quickly to constantly changing circumstances. Despite this, we achieved a profit in our first year of operation, which is something I am extremely proud of and demonstrates my ability to manage challenges, adapt and build a successful nursery business.

Monkey Puzzle Chesham presented a different challenge, as it required significant investment, care and attention. Within five months, we had successfully turned the nursery around, improving both its environment and overall operation.

I am confident that Monkey Puzzle Rickmansworth will be equally successful. I already have experience of building and managing two successful nurseries, and I understand what is required to create a strong nursery from the outset. I also have the advantage of being able to bring experienced and outstanding staff from both Harrow and Chesham to support the opening of Rickmansworth. This will allow us to establish a strong team from day one and provide the high standard of care and education that parents have come to expect from my nurseries.

Ultimately, my nurseries are more than just businesses to me. I take great pride in creating places where children are safe, happy, cared for and inspired to learn. My passion, experience, supportive family and dedicated staff give me every confidence that Rickmansworth will become another successful and well-loved nursery.

I am also very fortunate to live very close to Rickmansworth, which makes it a location that feels particularly personal and meaningful to me. Having such a strong connection to the local area means I would be able to be hands-on and fully involved in the nursery, just as I am with my existing settings. I feel that Rickmansworth is the perfect location for my final nursery and an ideal opportunity to build on everything I have achieved with Harrow and Chesham. My aim is to create another nursery that becomes a valued part of the local community and provides children and families with the same high standard of care, learning and passion that I have established in my existing nurseries.
