Kinloss – About the Setting

There are four rooms in the nursery:

4 months – 14 months (The Wee Hedgehogs)

14 months – 2 years (The Red Squirrels)

2 years – 3 years (The Wildcats)

Pre-school (The Eagles)

Open times are 7:30 – 6pm.

On offer is a play-based curriculum with indoor / outdoor play in the generous indoor and outdoor space.

All dietary needs are catered for and supports many children with additional needs.

I have worked in support services for over 25 years. I have worked in children’s services for over 20 years – initially in residential services for children with complex needs and challenging behaviours, then for around 15 years with Early Years children.

My qualifications include:
MSc Assessment and Intervention in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
Postgraduate Diploma Autism
BA Childhood Studies
BSc Social Psychology and Social Policy
Board Certified Behaviour Analyst / Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
Previously I have worked in the following areas:
• Managing a group of residential services for children with complex needs and challenging behaviours
• Leading Consultant and Managerial responsibility for a multi-disciplinary team in the NHS Complex Needs and Challenging Behaviours Service
• Lecturing at the University of Kent
• Consulting for children with complex behavioural needs all over the World (Greece, Dubai, USA)
• Working for local education authorities; National Autistic Society, Social Services, Independent providers
• Operational Manager of an Independent School

I don't have a military background, but my Grandfather was in the New Zealand Navy, though! It is very important to me to provide the best possible support to our military staff, children and families.
