What’s a fun fact that makes you stand out?
Onika started her career as a 16-year-old apprentice, so after 20 years in the sector, you could say she pretty much grew up in nurseries!
How do you like to help inspire the local community within your nurseries?
Building relationships and spending time with teams and families in the community, as the best ideas in Early Years rarely come from behind a desk.

Winning a special recognition award for ‘Contribution to Early Years’, out of a choice of over 3000 employees, making it extra special and motivating.

Champion the amazing professionals within the sector, while creating nurturing environments where both children and educators can truly flourish.
What’s a fun fact that makes you stand out?
Tara loves medieval history, often visiting local sites and castles, something she’d love to explore with the children at the nursery.
What helps you stay connected with your communities?
Hosting fundraisers and donating food supplies to help support and promote local businesses.
What’s something you have loved about your Early Years Career so far?
Seeing the children become secure, happy, confident, and young people who are excited for the next steps in their learning journey.
What’s your ambition to help improve the Early Years Sector?
Encourage regular outdoor learning, allowing the children to run around in the fresh air, all whilst having fun and exploring the world around them.
What’s a fun fact that makes you stand out?
Yasmin is fluent in English Sign Language, something she believes should be taught across education at a much wider level.
What helps you stay connected with your communities?
Regular visits to maintain relationships whilst also planning events to engage with the staff and parents.

Being able to connect with like-minded people who want the best for young people.
