Hopscotch Day Nursery Harbourside

Our two boys have had a wonderful time at Harbourside. At both pick up and drop off the enthusiasm, cheery faces and care on the staffs faces is so apparent and truly makes such a difference. The report cards and handovers at the end of the day show that they know your child so well and care for them and the support on next stage development is brilliant. At the end of the day our children are happy and that is all we want but to know that they have done the activities and outings that they do just makes me so content knowing they are getting loads out of their day and it's not just childcare while I'm at work. Very much recommend and we will be sending our next one here when the time comes.

No words can describe how outstanding this nursery is, from its wonderful kind and caring staff to the amazing setting itself is just indescribable. My son joined in November 2025 and absolutely adores it, full of excitement and enthusiasm to go in on his days and is flourishing. I cannot wait for him to continue his learning journey within the setting.

Harbourside Nursery encompasses everything we wanted in a nursery for our little boy. The staff care for him in such a lovely way. They are just as excited to tell us about his day as he is. The beach nursery and daily visits to the nature reserve set Harbourside above the rest. Lisa shows such care for all the children which is replicated by the rest of the team. Galina and Stef in the toddler room give the children such wonderful learning opportunities.

A special mention for her meals, my daughter has tried to many new foods and this is communicated well!

We absolutely love Harbourside! It has such a warm, family feel and our child is always so happy to go in - sometimes she doesn't want to leave.

The food is healthy and varied, and the team really follow her interests (she loves puzzles!), planning activities and learning around what she enjoys. The outdoor experiences are amazing - beach and nature walks, feeding ducks, bird watching, seeing Highland cows, collecting and naming shells, and even crabbing.

We get daily updates on food, naps and outings, weekly room updates, and monthly 1:1 observations which really support her development and independence. The team have been so supportive with toilet training and accommodating extra days when needed.

Safeguarding is handled so carefully, with all injuries recorded no matter how small. We feel very lucky

I am also shared photos and updates throughout the day which has helped mumma settle into the experience too. I would highly recommend and look forward to seeing how this relationship develops as my son grows over the years with the team and nursery.

Harbourside nursery is just brilliant. We wanted somewhere where our daughter would have more focus on outdoor and natural activities and this nursery goes above and beyond that. We appreciate that there aren't any plastic, flashy, noisy toys; it's all natural toys that invite open play and every activity is hands on and sensory. We couldn't have designed a better nursery if we tried. We're so thrilled that our daughter is looked after excellently and has the space to grow and learn.

This is definitely where I can leave my son with peace of mind, although in the beginning we struggled so much with separation issues during drop off but the staff are there to support you and help you what's best for the child and the parents. The app really helps as well to stay connected and updated of what your kids are doing and eating during the day. Well done to the amazing and hardworking staff.

We moved nursery for a number of reasons and we are so glad we did. Obviously moving a 2 year old is quite mad but he just wasn't settling after moving into toddlers at his old nursery. He is a very emotive boy and still gets upset at drop off but we were expecting that, what we are so appreciative of is how much thought and energy everyone at harbourside is putting into finding ways for our toddler to feel happy and safe. Can't fault any of the staff who are what makes the place so friendly and inviting. The facilities are lovely and they go out twice a day which is perfect for our energetic boy. Beach, haven, garden, rain or shine! Highly recommend a visit where you will just get that feeling. Plus a lovely cafe next door!

Just wow - what a fabulous nursery, from the location to activities to off-site adventures to the brilliant staff and of course the yummy meals and snacks. My child loves going to nursery and is developing really well with the guidance of the dedicated staff, my child adores the staff and being with his nursery friends! It really is a one of a kind nursery and any family who joins, I believe will be supported so well along there child's nursery journey!

Our daughter moved from a different nursery to Harbourside. We were initially a little worried about moving her after she had just started to settle at her previous nursery, but thought it would be worthwhile in the long run given the fantastic opportunity to spend so much time in nature. We did have some initial concerns on her first day, but these were immediately addressed and resolved.

My son has been attending Harbourside for 2 months now, I love how much they go out and experience the beach and nature reserve. Everyone is always very welcoming when we arrive and often will greet my son by name. He is very settled there and I feel at ease leaving him there knowing his day will be full of fun and exciting activities.
