Sessions using Government Funding
We accept the following Government Support Schemes: Universal Early Years Education Funding, Working Families EYE Funding, Families in Receipt of Additional Support (FRAS) funding, Universal Credit Childcare Support and Tax-Free Childcare.

Sadly, the Government funding does not cover many of the activities and resources that we provide, such as one-to-one Rainbow Time, Activate, Music and Movement, Write Dance, small group activities, PE, woodland activities, gardening, handling ducklings and watching other animals, science investigations, concerts, baking and foreign language experiences. We, therefore, ask parents to pay £2.50 per funded hour. This payment is not compulsory, but almost every parent pays it, because they recognise that, without this financial support, The Barn would not be financially viable.

We have had a truly wonderful experience at The Barn.
The staff are amazing, they go above and beyond to make every child's experience at The Barn magical.
The activities are creative and engaging, and we've seen such a positive difference in our child's confidence, learning, and social skills. Communication with parents is excellent, and it was reassuring to know our child was in such caring hands. The support provided to us as a family has been incredible throughout.
Our son's time at The Barn has sadly come to an end and we will miss it terribly but thanks to them our son is ready for his next chapter at School.

We highly recommend this nursery to any family looking for a nurturing, fun and supportive environment!

The Barn Nursery School has been nothing short of amazing, a beautiful nursery in a lovely environment. The love care and passion every member of staff show towards the children is unmatched. They worked so closely with my daughter to ensure she was always comfortable in the environment, and made her feel safe and welcome every single day. It's a truly special place, and one that my daughter will miss deeply. I look forward to being able to bring my youngest daughter back in a couple of years!

We couldn't have wished for a better start for our children. All three of my children have attended The Barn, and every one of them has absolutely flourished during their time there.

The staff are incredibly kind, caring and nurturing, creating an environment where every child feels safe, valued and encouraged to grow. The activities are always calm, thoughtful and engaging, allowing the children to learn through play without ever feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

There is something truly special about The Barn. It has such a warm, magical atmosphere that makes it a joy for both children and parents. Watching each of my children develop in confidence, independence and happiness has been wonderful, and I will always be grateful for the care and dedication of the amazing team.

I wholeheartedly recommend The Barn to any family looking for a nurturing and inspiring preschool.

A truly outstanding setting! From the moment our child stepped through the door, The Barn staff went above and beyond to help them settle in and feel like part of the family, and honestly, it really does feel like one. They noticed a slight delay in speech development and worked closely with our child to help them progress, not just academically but in confidence and independence too. In the last few months, our child was diagnosed with coeliac disease, and once again the setting went above and beyond to accommodate their new dietary needs. We both feel we made the best decision sending our child to The Barn. They've given them the best possible foundation to build on as they start this new chapter in school. I would 100% recommend this setting to anyone.

I highly recommend The Barn, it is a wonderful and bright environment, in a rural setting. There is a good number of staff who are friendly and proactive. Plenty of indoor and outdoor activities. My child thoroughly enjoys his time there.

The Barn Nursery is truly a wonderful place. From my very first visit, I knew it would be the perfect setting for our son. The team are amazing, supportive, caring and dedicated, going above and beyond to meet his additional needs and to make sure he has everything in place to thrive when he starts primary school. My daughter started here in September 2024 after having to pull her start date quickly from another nursery due to child safety concerns. I had heard such amazing things about The Barn from lots of mum friends, but I was always told that it was hard to get a space due to how popular it was. After visiting for the 1st time with my daughter to have a look round and to make a decision, I knew instantly that I really wanted to have a full time space here. The moment we walked in she found her feet, she didn't even look back to see where I was. And I remember leaving The Barn, calling my partner and saying 'My heart is so happy and I know she will be so happy here'. I did go and view another nursery that afternoon and instantly knew that The Barn was where I knew she would flourish. I described it to everyone I spoke to as 'The other nurseries I visited felt like Matilda the film, where Mrs Trunchibal had the classroom, all dark and dingey but The Barn, it felt like Miss Honey's classroom

Lovely nursery where all the staff are so nurturing and kind. Both my children have loved being there and my oldest misses it hugely since she moved on to school. They create fun and engaging learning experiences for the children and there is always something new and exciting!

My son absolutely loves going to nursery. He is always so excited to go and he loves telling me about all the fun he's had when I pick him up. The Barn is a lovely place, lots of toys, activities and outdoor space. All of the assistants are very friendly and I feel like he is in very safe hands.

Both of my children have attended this preschool - my 7-year-old son, who still speaks fondly of his time there, and now my daughter, who absolutely loves it. The setting is fantastic: warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity and creativity in young minds.
The teachers are incredible - kind, attentive, and truly passionate about what they do. It's clear they genuinely care about each child, creating a nurturing environment where kids feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.
From the daily activities to the way they encourage independence and social development, this preschool has exceeded all of our expectations. It's been a brilliant start to both of our children's educational journeys.
