Shooting Stars Nursery & Preschool Tettenhall opened in January 2026, welcoming families into a beautifully refurbished setting within a prominent Victorian building on Tettenhall Road - one of the key routes into Wolverhampton City Centre. With excellent transport links and convenient nearby amenities, the nursery offers an ideal location for local families and commuters.

The nursery accommodates up to 85 children across four thoughtfully designed base rooms for babies, pre-toddlers, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. Each room features high-quality Community Play furnishings and stimulating educational resources, creating inviting spaces that evolve with the children as they grow. This nurturing environment supports smooth transitions through each age group and helps build confidence as children prepare for school.

The historic property has undergone a full transformation, carefully preserving charming original features such as high ceilings and ornate cornicing while introducing modern upgrades including energy-efficient lighting and climate control systems. Outdoor learning is enriched through a landscaped main garden and a secure, sensory-rich, crawl-out Baby Garden, giving even the youngest children safe and meaningful access to fresh air and exploration.

Children benefit from a well-balanced curriculum that blends child-initiated exploration with purposeful adult-guided learning, fully aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Strong parent partnerships are supported through ParentCam, a secure livestream CCTV system, and the dedicated nursery app, which offers daily updates, photos, and key information.

Fresh, nutritious meals and snacks are prepared on-site each day by the nursery cook. The Baby and Pretoddler rooms enjoy ground floor direct access to the outdoor areas, ensuring regular opportunities for outdoor play and sensory experiences as part of their daily routine.

My daughter is settling at Tettenall after moving from another nursery. The enrolment process is thorough and detailed. It is good that they want to get to know my daughter as much as possible before she first attended for her settle. Communication between myself and the manager and deputy was also
highly effective with emails being responded to promptly.
On her first settle all staff were welcoming and friendly toward both me and my daughter, this gave her the confidence to explore her surroundings which were extremely well resourced. There was a key focus on healthy eating that was obvious in the activities on offer (it was explained to me that this was a focus topic).
On her second settle my daughter literally dragged me up to the front door, I've never seen her so enthusiastic about going to nursery and it put me at ease completely! If this introduction to Shooting Stars is anything to go by I am so pleased to have chosen this nursery for my daughter. I know she will flourish here.
Reply from Hollie Higgins, Marketing at Shooting Stars Nurseries at TettenhallThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear how smoothly your daughter's transition to Tettenhall has been. Getting to know each child as an individual is so important to us, so it's wonderful to know that the enrolment process and communication helped you feel informed and supported from the very start.
It's lovely to hear that her first settles were so positive and that she felt confident enough to explore her new environment - and even more special that she was so eager to come back for her second visit. Moments like that mean a lot to our team.
We're thrilled that you already feel reassured in your choice of nursery, and we can't wait to see your daughter continue to flourish with us.
Thank you again for your kind words.

Moving my son to a new nursery in January was a decision we did not take lightly. Especially as he had been at his previous setting since he was only a few months old. However, it has turned out to be one of the best decisions we've made this year.
The staff have been incredibly warm, welcoming, and
supportive. But most importantly, my son absolutely loves it here. He loves it to the point he will randomly mention how much he likes nursery. Knowing he is happy and settled is the reassurance any parent needs when trusting others to take care of their child.
I also really value the app, which allows me to check in on him during the day. The updates and observations are both reassuring and informative. I love being able to speak to him about his day and show him photos from his observations. Even the food gets a big thumbs up from him!
I can't recommend this nursery enough.
Reply from Hollie Higgins, Marketing at Shooting Stars Nurseries at TettenhallThank you so much for sharing this wonderful feedback. We know how significant it is to move a child from a setting they've known since they were tiny, and we're truly delighted that the transition has felt so positive for you all. Hearing how much your son loves coming to nursery - even mentioning it at home - is incredibly special and means so much to the team.
It's lovely to know that you've felt welcomed, supported and reassured throughout. The staff work hard to build those warm, trusting relationships, and they'll be thrilled to hear how much this has meant to you.
We're also really pleased that you enjoy using the app. Being able to see his photos, observations and updates during the day can make such a difference, and it's wonderful that it helps you share conversations about his experiences at home. And a big thumbs-up for the food is always great to hear.
It's a privilege to care for your little one and to be part of his journey

My son has been attending this nursery since it opened in January 2026. He was just 9 months old when he started and I was very anxious about him starting nursery. I can honestly say sending him to this nursery was the best decision I ever made. He has become so independent and confident in everything
he does. He absolutely loves going to nursery and is always so content throughout the day. The staff go above and beyond for the children and even the parents. They are so caring and nurturing. My son has very dry skin and they apply cream on his whole body multiple times a day and really look after his skin. They have also helped so much with his weaning and with the process of reducing his bottles. The management and staff are very knowledgeable and clearly have had the best of the best training. I just can't fault the nursery at all and have nothing but praise for it and the staff.

Starting nursery can feel like a huge step, and it means so much to hear how supported and reassured you've felt since those early days. It's wonderful to hear how independent, confident and content he has become - that happiness and security are exactly what we hope every child experiences. The team will be truly touched by your kind words about their care, dedication and the way they go above and beyond for both children and families.
We're also really pleased that the support with his dry skin, weaning and bottle reduction has made such a positive difference. Meeting each child's individual needs is so important to us, and it's lovely to know you've felt that attention and consistency.
Thank you for your trust, your praise and your appreciation.

I would like to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation to the entire team at the nursery for the wonderful care and nurturing environment you provide for my son. From day one from February 2026, we have felt reassured by the warmth, professionalism, and genuine care shown by all the staff.
My son looks forward to coming to nursery each day, which speaks volumes about the trust and comfort he feels there. We have noticed positive development in his confidence, social skills, and curiosity, and we truly value the way learning is blended with play. The staff's patience, kindness, and attentiveness and the regular communication and updates are greatly appreciated. Best part is Camera access and we observed, how well they are organised with food and encourage kids for the food, space for the kids and toys which are so well aligned based on the age of the kids and my son loves to play inside and outside garden. We are very glad to choosing Shooting Stars.

I honestly can't fault this nursery. My child has been attending since February and in such a short space of time I've already seen such a big difference in their confidence and development.
The staff have been amazing from the very beginning. They have given so much support and helpful advice on how
we can help our child settle in, which made the whole process much easier for us as parents. They are always approachable, kind and genuinely care about the children. There are daily detailed feedbacks at every pick up which is amazing, they really take time to understand each child.
The nursery itself feels very secure, well looked after. Has various different spaces/activities for the children to explore. Meal times are well organised and clean. The children are encouraged to try different foods and build habits.
Overall, it's a warm, supportive and caring environment and I'm so glad with our choice for our child.

Our staff will be so touched by your kind words. They work hard to build strong, trusting relationships with families, and it's wonderful to know that their support and guidance have made the transition easier for you. Taking the time to really understand each child is something we value deeply, so your feedback on the daily handovers truly means a lot.
We're also glad you feel reassured by the environment, routines, and mealtimes. Creating a secure, engaging space where children can explore, try new things, and build healthy habits is at the heart of what we do.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Shooting Stars Nurseries at Tettenhall is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.794 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Shooting Stars Nurseries at Tettenhall is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 85 number of registered child places is 17. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 17 = 0.294
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
