Canopy St Luke’s Chapel is a one-of-a-kind nursery in Wickford, set within a beautifully restored chapel that blends historic charm with modern design. This special setting has been thoughtfully created to offer children a safe, nurturing place where learning feels exciting and every day brings new opportunities.

We accept Government funding for eligible children. This funding covers 15 or 30 hours of childcare for 38 weeks of the year, ie term time. An additional services fee includes the provision of food, daily extra-curricular activities and consumables that are not covered by the funding. You can view our full price list on our website to see how your fees will be adjusted with the Government funding.
We also offer flexible, drop-in sessions which can be booked on a week-to-week basis. We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit in with your family’s childcare requirements but spaces are always subject to availability.
Fees are subject to review by Canopy, and we may amend them by providing you with one months’ notice.

Our child absolutely loves attending and we always feel reassured knowing he is safe, happy, and so well looked after. The care and attention they give to each child is exceptional, and the progress in our children's development has been amazing to see. Our little boy started in February and absolutely cannot wait to get there in the morning! He adores the staff and has settled in perfectly. The activities they do are lovely and we often get updates with photos. The service from the staff has been great and the nursery has been beautifully renovated. Would absolutely recommend!

She has settled in really quickly in the baby room and seems to really enjoy herself, the daily updates and pictures of what she gets up to really is a nice touch.
The staff are brilliant and seem to really get on well with our girl. The added outdoor space has really helped our daughter get more adventurous. The termly assessments and parents evening really help with the updates of what she gets up to and I am really happy with her development there.

The staff are so friendly and happy to help no matter what your needs are. I was looking for a particular kind of d of nursery for my daughter , who is extremely lively , had delayed speech and suffers from trauma and delayed emotional development.
Since joining the nursery her speech has improved so much , she is happy there , loves going and us extremely settled and making new friends . The curriculum is varied and creative and they also focus well on emotional development. And with learning through play . They cater to specific dietary needs with empathy and supported knowledge and give amazing feedback on a daily/ weekly basis.
I cannot rate the service and care high enough and any child would be lucky to go here in my opinion.

Rachel is an experienced Early Years practitioner with over 15 years in childcare and more than 7 years in management. Fully qualified in Early Years, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a gentle, nurturing approach to her role. After returning from maternity leave in 2025, Rachael felt that joining the newly opened Canopy St Luke’s Chapel was an opportunity she couldn’t miss. She is passionate about helping children discover the natural world and sharing Canopy’s commitment to sustainability and care for the environment.
Jackie holds a degree in Early Years and Teaching and has over 9 years of experience in childcare. She discovered her passion for working with children while running kids’ clubs in luxury hotels, where her strong English skills helped her build wonderful connections with families from around the world.
