Experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager with over 20 years of progressive experience in the Early Years sector. Starting as a Nursery Nurse, I have worked my way up through various roles to become the manager of two successful nursery settings. This hands-on journey has given me a deep and well-rounded understanding of early childhood development, safeguarding, staff leadership, and operational management.
I am passionate about providing high-quality childcare and creating safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments for young children to thrive. I lead by example, support team development, and consistently uphold the highest standards of care and compliance in line with EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
Key Qualifications & Training
NNEB Level 3 – National Nursery Examination Board qualification
Safeguarding Level 3 – Extensive knowledge and practical experience in child protection
Paediatric First Aid – Fully trained and certified
SENCO Level 2 – Supporting children with special educational needs and ensuring inclusive practice
With over 22 years of experience in childcare, I have a genuine passion for supporting children in their early years. My career has taken me through a wide range of roles — from working with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, to supporting adults with SEND needs. I have always had a strong interest in Early Help, and I believe this is where my skills and passion are most impactful.
Throughout my career, I’ve held various leadership roles, including Team Leader, Deputy Manager, and Manager. I’m now excited to take on my newest challenge as Head of Curriculum at Wombourne Community Nursery, while continuing my role as Senior Deputy Manager. I love spending time in all the rooms, getting to know the children individually, and supporting their growth and learning journeys.
Working at the Codsall branch has been such a rewarding experience — I will truly miss the team and all the wonderful children I’ve had the pleasure to work with. But don’t worry, I’ll be back soon to cover where needed!
I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, am First Aid trained, and serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). I’m thrilled to be part of such an exciting time as our nursery grows, and I look forward to what’s to come.
I have always had a passion for working with children and have gained a wide range of experience over the years, including working as a nanny. I strive to bring fun, creative, and engaging activities into the nursery every day, helping children to learn through play while feeling safe, secure, and supported.
Creating a nurturing environment is very important to me — there's always a warm cuddle ready for any child who needs one. I believe that strong relationships are at the heart of quality childcare.
When I'm not at nursery, I love spending time with my family. We enjoy trying out new activities together at home — many of which I bring into nursery to share with the children!
Qualifications:
Paediatric First Aid,
Level 3 in Childcare,
Level 1 Safeguarding
I first joined Wombourne through the Play Café, which gave me valuable experience working with children, engaging with parents and carers, and serving customers with food and drinks. It was a fantastic introduction to the nursery environment and helped build my confidence in working with families.
More recently, I’ve been gaining hands-on experience in the nursery itself — getting to know the children, supporting their routines, and sharing some of their favourite stories (which has quickly become one of my favourite parts of the day!).
I’ve really enjoyed settling in and being part of such a welcoming, supportive team. I’m excited to keep learning and growing in my role as I continue my journey in early years education.
