Apple Daycare @ Newgate Street Village Hall has enjoyed a continuous Outstanding by Ofsted Grade since it opened in 2016 (February 2018, January 2024).

The hall is a large open plan space with a stage that is situated on a large recreation ground. Adjacent to this are tennis courts on one side and a well equipped children's play park on the the other.

The hall is in between Cuffley train station and Bayford train station, and has good access to the A10 /M25 and A1.

The nursery has two qualified preschool teachers and offers a wide range of activities for the children to enjoy.

The team is committed to the over arching principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage which is delivered with a child centred ethos. In addition, the children have access to sports and gymnastics coaching, sensory music and street dance teachers and many other exciting opportunities that support the children's early years learning and development goals.

My child has been at the nursery since 1. The staff are all lovely and she has built strong relationships with them, often excited to see them each day. The staff go to great lengths to set up lots of activities including dedicated shaded areas during the hot summer days, sports events on the tennis
courts and participating in various engaging sessions such as dance or singing, sometimes facilitated by external entertainers. Overall, she thoroughly enjoys her time there.

The team at Apple Day Care Newgate street are exceptional they are very loving, caring and helpful .They truly understand each child's individual needs and nurture their growth through imaginative play and thoughtfully designed learning activities. We appreciate the daily updates and delightful photos
that keep us connected to our child's experiences. Communication from staff is outstanding.
We have noticed a huge change in our child's speech which is amazing for the short time he has been there. My child loves going in to nursery and loves seeing everyone. The nursery boasts impressive outdoor areas, including access to a nearby park, allowing children to enjoy fresh air and active play in all weather conditions. Fresh, home-cooked meals the variety is amazing our child is quite picky and they always go above and beyond to make sure they are catered for. We would wholeheartedly recommend Apple Day Care to any family looking for a nurturing, enriching, and well-run early years setting.

Excellent nursery. My daughter is always so excited to go and has the best time. She's learning so much and making great friends. All the staff are warm, friendly and very helpful. The best nursery!
Both my children absolutely love it at Newgate Street Village Hall and every single member of staff is fantastic.
They have the most fun at nursery and the team at Newgate street are so proactive, kind and friendly. The app is also great and updated immediately, I always look forward

An amazing nursery! In the beginning I was very nervous leaving my children but the management and staff are absolutely amazing and always reassuring - updating me. If I ask for any tips they're always ready to help. Always friendly and happy with greeting both parents and children. My kids started
with limited speech and now are able to form sentences in less than a year of being at Appleday Care Newgate Street. A wonderful learning environment!

Smooth Transition & Excellent Care:
Moving from Apple Daycare House, we were relieved to find the same high-quality care at Newgate Street. Our child felt safe, excited, and eager to attend every day.
Dedicated & Engaging Staff:
The staff are a credit to the nursery. They truly understand and care
for each child, fostering their development with creative play and learning stations. Daily updates kept us informed of our child's experiences and photos of their day were a highlight.
Facilities & Outdoor Play:
The nursery offers fantastic outdoor space, including a park, ensuring fresh air and active play in all weather.
Nutritious Meals & Easy Access:
Freshly cooked meals kept our child well-nourished. Onsite parking made drop-offs and pick-ups hassle-free.
Memorable Events:
Parental events, including Christmas carols, created wonderful memories. The graduation ceremony, complete with gowns, was a true highlight.

Samantha (Sam) has extensive childcare experience, including having 2 children of her own. She initially started Apple Daycare as a childminding services before transitioning into a nursery in 2013 and then expanded Apple Daycare into a nursery group in 2015.


Before having children, Sam worked as a singer/song writer and makeup artist. She studied theatre and creative arts at the Guild Hall London and has many skills as a musician and performer, which she loves to incorporate into her practice.
