Hello, I am Jo. I have recently returned to work as a Nursery Manager after being on Maternity Leave with my beautiful baby boy. I have worked for RAFAKidz since April this year, but I have worked at RAF Shawbury for 15 years. I am very lucky to have a good strong team around me, who help support me with the day-to-day running of the nursery. I enjoy creating good bonds with parents and children and helping create positive futures for our children.

Hello, I'm Bex, I have worked for RAFAKidz since April this year, but have developed a progressive career in childcare since 2006 where I gained my Nvq Level 2 and 3, then went on to achieve my Nvq Level 2 in playwork. I have worked in many roles mainly in a private nursery from apprentice to room leader. When I joined RAF Shawbury it was formerly Spring Nurseries of 2019 I progressed really quickly to a Room Leader and then Deputy Manager (My Current) role. My role involves supporting Jo our Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery. I enjoy showing new parents around our setting and explaining to them what our Ethos and Curriculum are all about here at RAF Shawbury, creating a secure bond from the moment you come to visit our setting. I enjoy the day-to-day side of running things and like being busy by using my initiative to problem solve and come up with solutions to help support our amazing staff team. I also enjoy sharing the children's passion and knowledge for learning and how we can develop our practice to better the experiences and opportunities we provide for our children.

Hello, I am Jade. I currently work in the Starlings (Babies) room. I have worked here since 2006 starting as a Student working my way up to completing my level 2 & 3 Qualifications. My current role is Starlings Room Supervisor but I have recently completed 6 months as Acting Deputy Manager to help cover Maternity Leave.

I have just started my Food For Life training and previously achieved my PANCO (Physical And Nutrition Coordinator) training helping to support and guide healthy eating and physical activities across the nursery for all of the children we care for.

I'm Ellie. I am a Senior Early Years Practitioner here at RAFAKidz Shawbury. I currently oversee the day-to-day running of the Robins (Toddler) Room. I have been employed at Shawbury since 2021 and gained my Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification. I am currently working towards my Level 6 Early Years Teacher Status and will complete my qualification in November 2024.

My Favourite thing to do with the children is Mathematics activities and embed this into their daily learning.
When I am not working at the nursery I am a Sergeant in the RAF Cadets and specialize in aerospace and progressive training as the Training Officer of my Squadron.

Hello, I am Mary, and I've worked in childcare for over 8 years, and have been at RAF Shawbury for just over 4 years now. I wouldn't change it for the world. I love everything about my job, but I would say making the children feel happy, safe, and loved.
I like to ensure parents that I know and care for each child as I would my own, making them laugh, supporting their development and to thrive here at the nursery. I currently work in the Robins (Toddler) Room.
Outside of work I spend all my time with my own young son who as every parent knows is the best thing in their life. I love my little family, and we have some pet guinea pigs. Simple life makes me very happy and having a job to come to that I genuinely love is the icing on the cake for me.

Hello, I'm Nicki. I currently work in the Starlings (Babies) Room. I started working at ''Shawbury Squirrels'' in 2007 completing my Level 3 working voluntarily at the nursery during that time. I live locally so working at the nursery helps me to maintain a good home life/work balance. I enjoy working in the baby room and like being part of a team.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and am currently planning our Christmas holiday where we will be visiting New York & Florida. I also sing with the local branch of the Military Wives Choir where I get to support military Charities such as Help For Heroes and The RBL.

Hello, I am Alice. I currently work in the Starlings (Babies) Room. I started working here in early 2022. I wanted to work in childcare as I enjoy the rewarding and fulfilling experience of watching children grow, learn and thrive. I love getting to be a part of a Child's early education; helping to shape their future and make a difference in their lives.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting and learning to Crochet.

Hello, I am Gemma. I currently work in the Starlings (Babies) Room. I started working here in September 2023 but I have been working in childcare for 8 years. What I enjoy about my job is that we can get messy and creative with the children, & also that the children learn in so many different ways. We get to see children grow and become more confident and see them achieve their milestones. One of my hobbies is going to the gym. The reason I chose childcare was that I have always wanted to work with children make a difference and help children achieve the best they can. Childcare is such a rewarding job and seeing children's little personalities grow is so lovely. I love the feeling that we get to support children to develop their young minds.

Hello, I am Fay. I currently work in the Starlings (Babies) Room. I've been working at the nursery for 2 years.

I returned to childcare after a long break to raise my own family. I enjoy seeing the children flourish I enjoy seeing the children flourish and seeing their personalities grow. Each day is very different.

In my spare time I enjoy going on Family walks with our rescue dog Barney.

I'm an ex-military wife so over the years have travelled around the country. We decided to settle in Shrewsbury and not long after moving to the area, I started working in the nursery when it was Shawbury Squirrels. I have a diploma in preschool practice level 3 and have nearly 20 years of experience in the childcare profession. I have been part of the nursery's journey for over 11 years. Child care is my passion and I enjoy working with the children as well as being part of a great team. I love animals, especially dogs. I enjoy walks and spending time with my family and friends. I currently work in the Robins (Toddler) room.

Hello I am Tracey but most call me Mrs. O ! I have been here for over twenty years, almost part of the furniture! I currently work in the Robins (Toddlers) Room.

I originally qualified as a Nurse, but have been in child care for a long time. I come from a military background and have two grown-up boys. Family is everything along with my fur baby Ollie dog. I enjoy walking, reading, baking and going on holiday exploring new places.

Hello, I am Emma. I currently work in the Robins (Toddler) Room. I've worked in childcare for over 6 years and have worked at RAF Shawbury for two of these. For the past two years, I was a 1:1 practitioner supporting a child with SEND which I absolutely loved, Creating a special bond and watching their independence grow.

In my spare time, I love to go on holiday, read and practice Yoga.

Hello, I am Donna. I currently work in the Robins (Toddler) Room. I have been employed in childcare for over 30 years. 2024 is the start of my third year working at RAFAKidz. Delivering care to the children has been personally rewarding, especially seeing them progress and mature through the nursery class groups in preparation for their primary school debut.

Away from work, I enjoy walking my dogs, keeping fit and being a Nanny to my beautiful four Grandchildren.

Hello, I am Shelley. I am the Deputy Room Leader for the Wise Owls (Preschool) Room. I'm a level 3 Practitioner. I have worked in preschool for 11 years. I enjoy completing a variety of activities with the children I care for and making sure they are ready for their next journey of going to school. I support my team well and like to involve everyone in the day-to-day running of our preschool room. I'm a mother to four wonderful boys who are my world.

Hello, I am Stephy. I currently work in the Wise Owls (Preschool) Room. I have been here at Shawbury for 18 months and enjoy making every Child's time at nursery fun. My Hobbies and enjoyment outside of work are my children and organizing events for charity and my local community.

Hello I am Phoebe, I am unqualified but I work across all of the age groups in the nursery, assisting the teams where necessary. I chose a career in childcare because I enjoy spending time with them, which I learnt through caring for and playing with younger family members. Some of my favourite things about the job include carrying out Music & Movement sessions and hearing the comedic things the children say. I enjoy it when the children are excited and eager to play with you. When I am not at work I like to bake, play the piano, try out different crafts, watch the TV and spend time with my family and friends.
