The Pier Head Prep Montessori School

My daughter adores going to The Pier Head Prep Montessori School. The teaching and learning activities as well as the learning environment are rich and allow children to flourish. The teachers are loving and caring and I feel my child is safe, listened and attended to. My daughter has made wonderful friends and feels excited about going to the nursery as they have a variety of activities. They have lots of fun. I highly recommend this nursery.

My child has attended this Montessori school for two years- we are truly amazed by her progress and learning achievements. This small school is based on the river Thames with views of the Thames. The setting and staff go beyond the call of duty. I visited other Montessori nurseries near by and they didn't seem like they followed the Montessori ethos.

The practice is always clean and safe for all children with a wide range of learning activities on display!

The space, location and outdoor garden are lovely and just what's needed. And with all this, the nursery is very affordable. Best choice in the area. Thank you team!

The manager and staff really truly have an approach to children. Seamless, focused, kind and caring, relaxing atmosphere and happy and smiley children - honestly it's a hidden gem. We've been around to other nurseries and we've been in the area for many years now with both our children attending the Pier Head. I can't recommend it enough.

My daughter has been going to The Pier Head for a year now and she loves it there. The teachers are very good, the activities they do with the children are great and what is most important is that they are loving and caring with the children. A small Montessori school, family run, my child is not just a number. It’s very open and the teachers are so kind! I love the curriculum and the ethos. I was looking for a more structured education for my child and this is definitely the right place.

I have had a great experience with this nursery school located by Shadwell Basin, which is a peaceful, quiet area, a serene location away from noise and traffic. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. My daughter has been really well looked after, coming home happy and full of stories to tell. She's participated in a wide range of activities, encouraging her to explore her interests and learn new things in a fun and engaging way. It's clear the staff genuinely care about the children and their development. I couldn't be happier with my choice and highly recommend this nursery to other parents looking for a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for their children.

I wanted my daughter to join a Montessori school as Montessori is a beautiful way to teach children. The views are beautiful and the children get to see river life. I’ve seen my daughter out on nature walks feeding the wild life! The teachers are so kind and gentle with the children, it’s like having an extended family. I’m updated daily on progress and education. I’m so pleased I found this school. Great value for money too

My daughter attended this school from the age of 2 until 3.5 when we moved house. I think the school was very good for her development. The kids are all quite well behaved and she made lots of friends at school, and is now thriving at her new school. The teachers are all very kind and caring.

My daughter has been going to Pierhead since the age of 2. It is a family-run independent nursery, with amazing views of the Thames. The staff are what really makes this nursery stand out from their peers. The care and attention that they give to the children is amazing and my daughter flourished under her key person. She has grown into a confident and intelligent young girl with both excellent vocabulary and critical reasoning skills. It is a great sign when your kid is excited to go to nursery every day. I really encourage any prospective parents to visit around pick-up times, because you will see the happiest children being collected.

My daughter has now started Reception in September, an independent school in the City of London. The initial feedback from the Head is that she has had an amazing start and has been “oozing confidence” in the classroom. This is all down to her key person and her amazing teaching team, so a really big thank you!

My daughter attended Pier Head since she turned 2 all the way to the start of reception and we are very pleased with our selection. We always left her happy and picked up a very happy child. All the teachers are kind, relaxed, and very good. And we saw our little girl thrive through the years. Their admin could improve but all in all they are very good and that didn’t affect the attention and care to the children. Highly recommend!

My son has been attending the nursery for about a year. I really love the connections he has built with his teachers especially one staff member who noticed he is on the spectrum and they have now begun the process for getting his diagnosis. My son has really come out of his shell and began to open up and become more friendly and sociable which was a huge issue for us in his day-to-day life. Couldn’t recommend the nursery more. Also being that this is a Montessori nursery they are very heavily focused on developing the children’s education which they show with providing pictures on a daily basis. Great nursery!

We have had two children in Pier Head for one plus years and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff are all engaging and responsive. The children love going to school each day, and we know they are in good hands. The location is also amazing, with the classroom filled with light and good views of the Thames.

My daughter is well looked after at Pier Head, engages well with the staff and has made some lovely friends. She is extremely happy to attend the school. Her overall development has been outstanding since she joined. She has developed great linguistic skills as well as general day-to-day life skills. Pier Head has a nice family feel and a personal touch. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Excellent care for the children, my child was so happy to walk into school every day. All the staff are fantastic with the children, the daily activities are always well-planned and exciting for the children.

This is a very homely nursery with all the teachers showing lots of care and attention to the children. My daughter loves to go to nursery and is always happy to see her teachers. My daughter aways takes part in lots of activities throughout the day and loves to tell us all about her day.

My little one loved her time here, such a fantastic set up! All the teachers were amazing and really helped settle my daughter when it was time to leave her in the morning which gave me the confidence knowing that she was in safe hands.
