Shelford Day Nursery

Our son has attended Shelford Day Nursery for two years, since August 2022. He started in the Explorers Room before moving up to the Inventors Room when he turned three. The nursery is a beautiful space both inside and out. And the staff are exceptionally good. Our son has thoroughly enjoyed his time at the nursery and we are very sad to be leaving (to start primary school). The staff are warm, and caring and strive for and achieve a high-quality play-based education. The in-house cook provides a brilliant healthy menu. We were fortunate enough to secure a part-time place and that worked for our family's needs. Wish he could stay longer!

My son has been going here for the last two years. We couldn't be happier with his time here. Every morning he's happy to go, no fights or grumbles! The staff are wonderful and you can tell they really care about the children. There are always enough of them that they can dedicate enough time to each child and they strike a great balance between being friends and teachers with the kids. We really like the educational aspect of the nursery and know from talking to parents whose children attend other places that they truly learn more at Shelford and have more structure. Having said that, it's all done in a playful way. The food options are excellent and they really keep the kids engaged with field trips and events. They've helped prepare my son for school so well that I have zero concerns. I'd happily recommend this place to anyone. It's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

Fantastic nursery. Both my children love it and always come home happy. Very caring and understanding staff who also keep the days interesting with a variety of activities and curriculum. Would highly recommend it to all parents in the area.

Getting childcare in Cambridge is really difficult, we were so blessed that Shelford Day Nursey had a place vacant!

The team clearly care about the kids in their care. Our child has really developed since joining the nursery, becoming more confident and curious about the world around them. The nursery work hard to keep parents involved, and we enjoyed attending open events at the nursery.

We recently transferred our child to this nursery, and we're thrilled with the experience. The manager is outstanding, and the entire staffing team are both engaging and supportive. The integration of curriculum into play strikes a perfect balance in teaching without being too overwhelming for any child. The convenience of the nursery providing nappies, along with on-site freshly cooked meals that rotate weekly, has significantly simplified our daily routine and ensures a balanced diet for the child. The modern and well-maintained facilities set this nursery apart from others we explored. Highly recommend it for parents contemplating nursery placement for their child
