Little Forest Folk Putney Heath is a fully outdoor forest nursery, offering the full EYFS curriculum in a way that allows children's creativity & resilience to flourish amidst a nurturing outdoor environment. Childcare is provided with a strict adult to child ratio of 1:4, at all points of the day and for all ages. The nursery is proud to provide high standards of safety, care and education for all children & is currently rated OUTSTANDING by OFSTED (Dec 2021).

The EYFS is delivered with nature as its backdrop, with a focus on child-led and play-based exploration. Forest activities with their peers help children build confidence & social skills, as well as developing their core strength & fine motor skills.

The nursery’s outside space is in the wilds of Putney Heath where base camp moves around to take advantage of the different areas on offer! Not only do they have plenty of trees for climbing, or making swings and slack lines, they also always have brilliant play prompts, mud kitchens and a calming sensory tent and story area. Napping is possible for those children who need a rest ahead of further adventures in the afternoon. Other features on camp include toilets, nappy changing tent and handwashing stations.

Children arrive at the indoor space at 8am for a tasty breakfast before dressing appropriately for outdoor weather to allow them to make the most of the forest activities on offer. They make the short adventure walk over to the forest camp on Putney Heath and spend the rest of their day outdoors, fully immersed in the wonders of nature.

Meals and snacks are enjoyed in the forest, alongside lots of learning & play, before returning to the clubhouse to enjoy a nutritious dinner in the indoor space, then it’s time to say goodbye until next time!

When we first joined Little Forest Folk Putney Heath, our child didn't speak any English at all. It was a bit worrying at first, but the friendly and supportive staff made all the difference. They helped our child feel safe and confident very quickly. Since then, we've seen a huge change - our child
has become much braver and more independent. Every day is full of fun outdoor activities and learning experiences that really engage the kids. It's been wonderful to watch our child grow and thrive in such a warm and caring environment. We're truly grateful to be part of this community.

We absolutely love LFF's outdoors concept, and more importantly, our child loves it - every picture that is taken shows her living her best life. She is always eager to go, and during breaks ask when she's going back.
We particularly love the staff, they are very supportive and provide a great mix
of an exploratory and caring environment. Our older child also went to an LFF, at a different site, and that one was great as well. Highly recommend over a traditional-modern indoor nursery experience.

I just cannot say enough good things about our experience with our son going to Little Forest Folk Putney for the last two years. We never cease to be amazed at the incredible fun and creative activities they have them all doing, whilst never losing the gentle educational angle.
The staff are caring,
fun and really give you the impression that they are invested in our son's wellbeing and development.
It has been the best decision we have made and are so happy that our two-year-old will soon join his big brother there too!

We have had the most wonderful experience at Little Forest folks. Leaving will be emotional for us. The staff are so caring and considerate. We have watched our little one grow in confidence and develop in the best ways. She has made invaluable friendships and bonds with the other children in the forest.
We owe so much of that to her time at Little Forest folks.

We love Putney Heath Little Forest Folk. Our daughter has only been there for a few months but she's settled in really quickly and loves it. The staff are really kind and attentive. We love that the kids spend so much time in nature, deep in the forest, but they also get real teaching, with topics like
science, history and so on taught in the forest. And the small class size means they get much more attention than they would in a bigger nursery.

My daughter joined Little Forest at the start of the Spring Term, and I just want to say how incredibly thankful I am for all the love and support the teachers have shown her. The atmosphere here is so warm and welcoming, and if I had to choose again, I would pick Little Forest in Putney for my daughter
without a doubt!

I cannot praise this team highly enough. As a parent, I am completely confident that my son is in the best possible hands in these, his most important years of development. The staff are engaging and open and their skills in education shine through. I'm sad we only have a year left before school starts!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.778)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.778) out of 10 for Little Forest Folk Putney Heath is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.978 for Little Forest Folk Putney Heath is calculated as follows: ( (91 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.978
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Forest Folk Putney Heath is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 number of registered child places is 4, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
