Fledgelings Day Nursery (South Hornchurch)

This place has given my child the most wonderful foundation for life. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff has been warm, caring, and genuinely approachable. The daily activities were fresh, imaginative, and thoughtfully planned-my child was captivated from start to finish. Each afternoon, I eagerly listened to their stories, filled with excitement and joy from the day's adventures. These moments have become cherished memories for our whole family. Thank you to everyone who made this journey so special.

Our son attended Fledgelings from the age of one until leaving to start school, and so he has been in all of the settings of the South Hornchurch branch: Baby, Toddler and Preschool. He has absolutely loved his time there, and we have always seen how dedicated the staff are to taking care of him and encouraging him to thrive and develop his love of learning. The staff are really collaborative and want to build positive relationships with parents to better enable to support the children. Both the inside spaces and outside area are excellent, with excellent resources and activities to encourage the children to learn and the progression reports we have received have been incredibly thorough.

I would defo recommend Fledglings to anyone looking for a nursery.

Our little one had the best time here at Fledgelings. We can see such a change in the way he speaks and interacts with other from his time here. He always speaks highly of his teachers when he's home and always looks forwards to his days there. The staff have a special relationship with the kids and it really shines through in the way they care for each one of them. As a mother, it's the hardest thing to send a kid away; but they do really have the best time here. My mum guilt was eased away when he would come home and tell me all about his friends , and his activities and all the fun he had playing in the garden and with all the dinosaurs they have on-site. Very happy with everything we've experienced with Fledgelings!

My daughter has been attending Fledgelings South Hornchurch since April 2025. I was so apprehensive about leaving her, but the team at Fledgelings have been absolutely amazing in supporting myself and my daughter through the transition. The Manager was so helpful in the lead up, and on her settles and has been supporting us ever since. My daughter is in the baby room, and the care that she has received in the little time she has been there is second to none. Each and every member of staff is knowledgeable, caring and generally make you feel reassured that you're leaving your child in super safe hands. To the Nursery Practitioners your care for my daughter has been absolutely amazing, you've made the transition so faultless and I cannot thank you enough for how tirelessly you all work to ensure the children's days are full of fun, as well as keeping on top of logging their days on the app. She has progressed in her development already! Thank you Fledgelings!

We also had the feeling that our child is in a secure environment and any injuries, incidents were immediately communicated to us regardless how "small" these were.

Attrition seems high, which is less than ideal for the children.

I am very excited with staff and everything from this nursery. My daughter is very happy every day and makes great progress in development thanks to the attention given to her. I am very peaceful when she is there in a safe and pleasant place.

The high staff turnover in our organization has become increasingly concerning, as it creates an unstable environment that affects both employees and the children they serve. Some staff members appear disengaged and unhappy, a sentiment that inevitably seeps into their interactions with the kids. The tone of voice used during activities can often be flat or lacking enthusiasm, impacting the overall energy in the room. This disconnection not only undermines the staff's ability to foster positive relationships with the children but also disrupts the nurturing atmosphere that is essential for their growth and development. Addressing the root causes of this dissatisfaction is crucial to rejuvenating the team spirit and ensuring a more vibrant, supportive environment for both staff and children alike.

Both of my children have attended Fledgelings and I have nothing bad to say about them. I trust the staff completely and the environment they are in. I am happy with the values they have instilled in both of my children, who are now confident in their move to big school. I highly recommend this nursery and will miss the staff!

We are thrilled with the exceptional quality of care and education provided by this nursery. It meets the diverse needs of all children, including those with special needs, through dedicated and tailored support. The nursery has significantly enhanced our child's learning development and fostered a positive attitude towards education.

This nursery has worked wonders for our child, giving him a fantastic head start before entering infant school. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional, demonstrating a thorough understanding of their roles. The SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) team is outstanding, arguably the best in the UK. Our child's key worker is particularly exceptional. Her passion and dedication have made a tremendous impact on our child's progress.

One area for improvement would be retaining the excellent staff. High turnover can be a concern, so we urge the management to offer competitive pay to retain these valuable team members.

I just want to say a big thank you to all the staff at Fledgelings! From baby room right through to preschool my daughter has been well cared for with staff creating a fun and safe environment. The nursery is always clean and my daughter looks forward to coming to nursery each day. Thank you all for helping her grow!

A strong introduction to the world of learning and routines.

I'm so happy that my son has joined Fledgelings. The support from all the staff is fantastic and the genuine care my son receives is amazing. My son is in the toddler room and they have supported him in settling with such love and care. Thank you to the four ladies - he talks about you all. Thank you for taking your time to get to know him, thank you for teaching him and thank you for listening to him. We all in our family truly appreciate it.

My little boy has settled into Fledgelings South Hornchurch so amazingly, the staff are all so brilliant, warm, friendly and do such an amazing job. I feel such at ease leaving him there, he smiles whenever we walk into the building. I was anxious before he settled in but there really wasn't a need to be knowing how happy he has settled and loves all of the staff. I couldn't be happier with all the teachers and the nursery. I went and looked at many nurseries for my son to attend when I returned back to work. As soon as I saw Fledglings South Hornchurch, I knew this was the nursery I wanted him to attend. My son has allergies as well as eczema when I told the staff about his needs they have always been so accommodating. Being a first-time mum I feel at ease and trust he is safe when going to nursery. He loves all the staff there, especially his absolute favorite caregiver. I have noticed since he has started nursery, he is returning home with new things he is learning. Recently he came home and started doing the actions for wheels on the bus. They do lots of learning but fun activities with the babies and he loves going. I honestly couldn't be happier with this nursery. One last point is since COVID-19 I noticed most nurseries make you drop your child outside and they are taken inside by staff. I have never liked this concept I like the fact that I can walk my son into the room and wave goodbye.
