It's not easy for a first time parent to hand over their wee one to an unknown environment. Having said that, the entire staff at Chris Abell have gone above and beyond what can be expected of a nursery. Granted my partner and I have no yardstick to compare, but the level of support they give us parents
and the genuine care we see them dole our to our LO is unbelievable. We couldn't be happier. Bless them all for giving our boy so much love and care. We are truly thankful.

A great nursery with lovely staff. Our son enjoys it and we get to see what he is up to, thanks to the updates on the app. The venue is great with outdoor space and plenty of toys.
The staff are caring and will take on board suggestions.
Some points for improvement:
- ideally, the staff turnover
would be reduced.
- new staff should introduce themselves when they start, to make it easier for parents to know who is taking care of their child.
- communication could be improved, but efforts have been made by management so, even if not perfect, this is better.
But overall, a great nursery, I don't regret our choice!

I am very happy with the care provided by the Tod room to my little one. He loves going to the nursery and the key persons are always so lovely and caring with my child. I love that they send regular reports and photos of what my son is doing during the day. Something to improve a little bit is the
staff rotation, as there have been a few during this year.
Reply from Kayleigh Nelson at Kids Planet Chris Abell NurseryThank you so much for your positive review. We strive to create an environment that all children and parents can feel comfortable in and we hope in the future that we can prevent staff movement to ensure consistent staff in our rooms.

Our twins have been going to Chris Abell since they turned 1 and they are now thriving preschoolers. The nursery is really well equipped and set out so our energetic boys have plenty of space to play and lots of inventive activities to keep them entertained. The staff are incredibly warm and friendly,
and the boys have adored all their key workers. We have felt really confident that they are truly cared for. Their key workers have also worked together with us when we or they have had any concerns about the boys and made sure we are joined up in our approach at home and at nursery. Chris Abell has helped our little boys develop their language, their skills, and their confidence as well as make friends and learn to understand their own and others' emotions. We will be sad to leave next September.

My son has recently started at Kids Planet and he loves every minute! The baby room is well equipped and the staff are always lovely! The chef always caters to my son's allergies and ensures he has food which he can eat! He normally has 2 portions! Thank you everyone for settling my son in well!

This is a lovely nursery with very caring staff and I would highly recommend it to other parents. Our baby has been attending this setting since September 2022 and we have had an extremely positive experience of the baby room. My son bonded quickly with his key worker and has loved all the inventive
and varied activities she has done with him. I see happy photos of him daily on the parent app, which also updates me on his meals and sleep.
The facilities at this nursery are really good. There is a dedicated baby sensory room and garden for the babies and beautiful displays of wooden toys and books. The menu is varied and my son almost always finishes all his meals.
The nursery is efficiently run and I feel the staff work well as a team. The Christmas party they held was excellent and showed how great the nursery was.

I am a mum of an 18-month-old girl. She started with Chris Abell in August. She did have some separation anxiety issues at the beginning; she cried in the morning and in the afternoon. All that ended thanks to the excellent care she has been receiving from the nursery staff. They were very understanding
of her needs and did their best to help her settle in the new environment. And it worked so well, that my daughter now loves her nursery. She never cries anymore when being left in the morning and when we pick her up, she welcomes us with a big smile which shows how much fun she has had all day.
Chris Abell nursery staff are very dedicated, they enjoy working with children and have lots of creative ideas how to play with them. My daughter adores her key workers and is delighted to see them. Every day we receive a report on how she ate and slept and several photos of her playing happily. The nursery building is beautiful, and I could not imagine a better place for my daughter.

I am a father of 15 month old twin boys attending Chris Abell. Since they joined the nursery in July they are having a great time. They are always happy to arrive, and they are welcomed by friendly and caring staff each morning. As a parent, I am informed of the boys' progress and activities during
the day. At pickup, the staff are very willing to answer questions that I have, and they give me detailed updates on naps, illnesses etc. The boys adore their key workers and have great fun with them.
The location is brand new and very well-equipped. The toys are age-appropriate, and they have recently created a great sensory room which my boys love. I am really pleased with the decision to send my boys to Chris Abell.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.783)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.783) out of 10 for Kids Planet Chris Abell Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.783 for Kids Planet Chris Abell Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (243 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 286 Ratings = 4.783
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kids Planet Chris Abell Nursery is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2024

Throughout my career, I have had many rewarding experiences working with children and families, and I am committed to making sure every child in our care can learn in a safe and secure environment.

My aim for the nursery is to cultivate an environment that enables children to progress and grow through play, organising activities and utilising resources to stimulate their learning with wonder and excitement. Play is crucial for cognitive, social, and emotional development in children. It allows them to explore their creativity, develop problem-solving skills, and build relationships with their peers. By engaging in playful activities, children learn to navigate the world around them with curiosity and confidence.

I am excited to engage parents in our nursery community and extend a warm invitation to join our setting.
