Southover Preschool

My name is Mrs Sayed and I have been the Principal of Southover Pre-school for the past 20 years.

I have a great passion to work alongside children and help them to unfold their learning capabilities.

It is fascinating how children progress and develop during their formative years.

We are fortunate enough to have a lot of outdoor space and one of our core beliefs is to have mixed aged groups, where younger children learn from older children, and the older children learn to look after their younger peers, which I believe is a primary aspect of learning amongst many that we try and yield.

Southover Pre-School has one of the largest outdoor areas amongst local schools, facilitating their physical development and social skills, assisting in their gross motor skills and fine motor skills.

We are a friendly team and look forward to answering any questions you may have.

I am the curriculum leader at Southover Nursery.

I provide professional support and guidance to the rest of the team as well as report back to the principal with progress and any issues. I put the correct provisions and support in place to ensure that children receive the best possible care. I take the lead in directing and guiding nursery staff to deliver children's activities in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and with defined local policies and regulations.

I am a qualified senior early years practitioner, here at Southover for many years.

My main responsibility is to deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children under the age of 5 years. I am trained to look after the mental, social, emotional and educational development of children in this age bracket. My priority is to work closely with the children, care for them, and guide and support them in their day-to-day life at the nursery.
