Applemore Early Years Centre provides an excellent space for children aged 2 to 5 years old to play and explore, supported by a qualified staff team and hands-on management team.

The setting has one large playroom divided into different identifiable learning areas. The children also benefit from a large outside area and access to the sports hall for games and physical education.

The children play together across the age brackets but also have group time with their peers in age-appropriate groups throughout the day.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Applemore. Our eldest started here when they were two and has just moved on to school, and our youngest (now two) has recently joined. The staff are absolutely fantastic - every single person who works there is warm, caring, and genuinely invested in the
children's happiness and development.

We were initially unsure about the mixed-age setting (2-5 years), but it's actually been one of the best things about the nursery. The younger children learn so much from watching and joining in with the older ones, while the older children gain confidence and learn to be gentle and helpful. It creates such a lovely, family-like atmosphere.

A special mention must go to Mandy, our child's key worker, who is exceptional. She goes above and beyond to understand each child's needs and personality, and she's made both our children feel safe, loved, and encouraged every day.

Applemore is a lovely start for young children and I highly recommend it.

I would just like to say that I am extremely grateful to the team, Mandy, Chelsea, Sylvia, Leah & Amelia and the rest of the team!
These are the ladies that I have met and considering our boy started a couple of days earlier, we were so grateful at short notice that they could fit our boy in for two
extra days!
He has grown already and I can see he enjoys all the activities, the social time and more!
So THANK YOU, for your support, patience and understanding of recent, you all do such a fantastic job!

I'm so glad I chose this setting for my child. Since she started last October, she has really come on with her speech and communication skills and loves attending. There is a great outdoor space with lots of different toys and lots of great areas indoors aswell.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming
and have great relationships with the children.

My son has been with Applemore Early Years Centre since just before he turned 2 and is now going into his last year with them. When he started off he could barely speak a few words and was very shy and didn't interact much with others, and now he can speak full sentences and constantly comes home telling
me names of friends he's played with, he absolutely thrives there and loves all of the staff! The way the staff love all of the children and make exceptional effort to learn each child individually (speaking from my experience) is such a reassurance that I have put my son in the right nursery! I cannot recommend them enough, will be putting any future children back in with them!!

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.930)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.930) out of 10 for Applemore Early Years Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.967 for Applemore Early Years Centre is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.967
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.963 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Applemore Early Years Centre is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 number of registered child places is 10.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.463
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
