Dragonflies Day Nursery, located in Calverton, Nottingham, cares for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Each child at Dragonflies is recognised as an individual, with their unique needs, interests and development considered in planning a challenging and enjoyable experience across the EYFS seven areas of learning and development. The team reflect on the different rates at which children develop and adjust practice appropriately. Their aim is to support every child in their care to attain their maximum potential within their individual capabilities.

The team provide a positive, inclusive play environment for every child, so they develop good social skills and an appreciation of all aspects of this country's multi-cultural society. They plan learning experiences to make sure, as far as is practical, that there is equal opportunity for all children and a celebration of diversity.

Every childcare team member at Dragonflies Day Nursery is qualified or working towards their qualification and has appropriate training/experience. The service is always in accordance with the latest Standards for Care.

All team members, including students, are interviewed, DBS cleared and receive induction training prior to starting employment. There are group and individual appraisals, and training needs are constantly reviewed and updated. The nursery holds regular staff meetings where issues regarding staff, children and the nursery can be discussed.

Dragonflies continuously reflects on the quality of service they provide and further develops their practice in line with policy, research, best practice and internal/external feedback. They ensure that they update their business/action plan at least annually and combine this information. They welcome parents’ opinions and contributions to the quality improvement process and actively seek feedback through questionnaires and parents’ evenings.

I just want to say a big thank you to all the staff at dragonflies, my daughter absolutely loves coming to nursery and the excitement about seeing the staff and her friends every morning she goes makes me so happy to see, she is blossoming and I cannot thank them all enough. Her transition from half
days to full days has been seamless and that's down to the staff and the care she gets daily!

I am absolutely thrilled with the experience at Dragonflies Day Nursery. From the moment my little boy started there we felt welcomed and reassured by the friendly staff and warm environment.


The staff are incredibly attentive and genuinely care about the children's development. My little boy has

flourished under their care, learning new skills and making wonderful friends.


The facilities are clean, safe, and filled with age-appropriate activities that keep the kids engaged and excited to learn. Communication with parents is excellent, and I always feel informed about my child's progress. Now he always walks in with a big smile and happy to see everyone and gets so excited about his day.


I highly recommend Dragonflies to any parent looking for a nurturing and enriching environment for their little one!

My daughter loves it here and she is really happy and settled. She has a great relationship with all the staff and is thriving. I highly recommend it here. The staff are approachable and very down to earth. Any issues are dealt with quickly. The nursery in my opinion is the best choice I could have

Fantastic nursery, highly recommend it. My son has been going for the last 10 months and has settled in so well, he loves going and is always so happy when he's there! We initially chose it as my daughter had attended and had left a year before, it had a change of management so naturally we were slightly

My son has been attending Dragonflies since Summer 2023. Before this, he attended another nursery but as he was reaching pre-school age we wanted him to be able to make friends in Calverton before going to school. It was the best decision we could have made. He found the change hard initially, but the
staff went above and beyond to ensure he settled in. The friendliness and communication are far better than we experienced previously and we love the homely feel from the flow between rooms to the parent sessions and grandparent's reading time. They’re always thinking of new things to do in response to the children's needs and interests. Our son has developed so much in his time within here. He’s grown in confidence, learnt so many new things by exploring and made a lovely group of friends. I feel so much more confident about him making the transition to school thanks to the help and support of all the staff at Dragonflies. This is a team that really cares about the children they look after.

My son has attended this nursery for 9 months, he’s now 2 and a half, I couldn’t imagine him anywhere else.
The staff are so welcoming and lovely, my son goes in very happily and even asks for the staff outside of the nursery when we go to different places, he has formed great relationships with both
staff and children here.
He has gained so much confidence being at Dragonflies.
My son has allergies and health conditions which made me worry about sending him but the staff have been amazing, they are very accommodating and always keep me up to date if anything’s happened, I have no worries at all about sending him here.
They also keep us posted throughout the day with feeds, nappy changes, how much he’s eaten and pictures, which is always nice to see your child having lots of fun.
They always do lots of fun activities and little trips out!
I highly recommend this nursery.

I couldn’t ask for enough from them! The staff are all so caring and kind and you can tell my daughter and all the other children are looked after well as they are so happy!. The food they give each day is a variety and so good, some days I’m even jealous I’m not there! Would definitely recommend this

My son absolutely adores attending Dragonflies! He loves being in the preschool room and we’ve found that his language has flourished since he began going more days. Fantastic nursery - staff are so lovely and helpful.
When I first sent my daughter here I was very worried about leaving my daughter as any new mother would be, however, the staff put all of my nerves to rest and my daughter loves going to nursery.
She has really blossomed being at Dragonflies and
I have no worries about sending her. They are also really good at keeping you up to date with what your child has done throughout the day with eating, sleeping and playing.

Having had two children pass through the doors of this nursery, my boys absolutely loved and love coming here. They would run into the nursery and be met with cuddles from staff. It's a very warm and nurturing place. More over, my little one has multiple allergies, my eldest health conditions and this
nursery and its staff have been nothing but accommodating. Nothing is to much trouble. They push the children's development in extremely positive ways, while being child-led in play. They could do with larger outside space, but they use what they have access to in very positive ways.

My daughter started with Dragonflies just before her second birthday and settled in well very quickly. All the staff make it such a welcoming and joyful environment, my daughter comes home after each visit telling me all sorts of fun things they have done and is always excited when I tell her that she
has nursery the next day! She bonded with her key person very well and talks about her often. I love reading the updates and seeing the pictures they upload on the app. My daughter is very happy at the nursery and I feel very happy that she is cared for and supported as an individual. The management team are great and are always very helpful and efficient with any query I have had.

Absolutely would recommend Dragonflies since the new manager has taken over, it's such a pleasant environment, he is really knowledgeable and the staff carry out some fantastic activities and genuinely know their stuff.
