Kids Planet Shortwood Lodge

A fantastic nursery with caring, enthusiastic staff who always make the children feel supported. Our children have come on so much since starting, and it's been great to watch them grow. A warm, happy place that we highly recommend.

Kids Planet has been a fantastic nursery for our daughter, and we couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The setting itself is lovely - tucked away from roads, giving it a calm, secure feel. The only area that could use a little attention is the entrance, where the large potholes really do need some TLC. Aside from that, everything inside the nursery is excellent. We value the regular updates and photos throughout the day, and it's always reassuring to hear how she has been at each pick-up. The staff are brilliant - always happy to talk through her progress, any little challenges, and what she's been enjoying. It's clear they genuinely care about the children and enjoy their jobs. The food offered has good variety, and our daughter has already formed some lovely connections with both staff and other children. We haven't used, but also appreciate the thoughtful extras like the clothes and book swaps, and the option to pick up a drink at the entrance. Would recommend to all!

Amazing nursery! All the staff are super friendly and positive people. They're very supportive with my child and he always has to best day. They do fun activities and also educational, focusing on child development which is exactly what you want from a nursery

Both of my children have attended this nursery since they were babies. We were initially skeptical when we learned it was being taken over by Kids Planet, but any concerns quickly disappeared as the changes that followed were all positive. What has impressed us most is the consistency of the staff, which reflects the type of culture Kids Planet portrays. Despite the change in ownership, the high standard of care has remained the same, with staff continuing to go above and beyond for the children. Our daughter has had a wonderful experience and formed strong relationships with both staff and children. Her key workers have played an important role in her development and confidence. We are incredibly grateful for the care, support and guidance provided to our family. The staff have had a significant impact on our children's lives, and we will miss them greatly. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to other families.

Our child has thrived since attending, she has come on in development so much! The staff have given her great support, encouragement and care. They have so many different activities and ideas, which keep our little girl engaged, continuing learning and having lots of fun. Our child has built up great relationships with the staff and others in her class. We would highly recommend this nursery! Our child has ate lots of different foods also. The nursery also keep the parents updated throughout the day, and gives us tasks to do with our children. We are so happy we found such a great place for our daughter to start her journey of learning!

Kids Planet Shortwood Lodge is an amazing nursery. My little girl joined baby room at the beginning of the year and we have been really impressed with our experience so far. Lovely, large spacious rooms, including a sensory room, with good quality toys and loads of outdoor space. Our favourite thing about the nursery though, is the staff. Every single team member is so friendly and helpful and they really get to know your child's personality and look after them with such care. They are always happy to try and accommodate parents' wishes and always make you feel welcome. My little girl loves going in and I feel happy and assured that she is being well looked after and having lots of fun whilst learning.

We are absolutely delighted with the nursery. The staff are happy and caring and really good at their jobs. My child gets excited to go in which makes me happy. They provide home cooked meals and report on my childs progress daily. They also supply nappies, wet wipes, suncream etc which is helpful when packing their bag. My child not only enjoys the clean spacious environment, but also gets to play outside in the lovely garden, and has loads of fun in the sensory room. The staff sing and dance with her and send video updates.

Our experience so far with Kids Planet Shortwood Lodge has been fantastic. Our daughter took a while to settle in initially, but all the team went above and beyond to help her to adjust and she's now loving it from what we can see. All the staff are great, updating us every pick up on how the day has been and all the key info (sleeps/food etc) and are really encouraging when it comes to the kids development.

We'd like to see a few more updates coming through the app, at least one per day would be good (and for it to be submitted during the day so we receive it whilst she's at nursery), but other than that we have no complaints or areas for improvement at the moment.

It's been amazing watching him grow and learn so much through the nursery. Nothing is too much for this team of lovely people, keep being amazing!!

My twin boys who are 4 and in pre-school have attended since April 2024 - they adore the setting. All of the staff are kind, helpful and most importantly they acknowledge that whilst the boys are "twins" they are two individual little humans - the boys key workers have got to know their characteristics and what makes each of them feel supported and connected and they run into their peers every morning :) whilst I'm looking forward to the next chapter of school in September I fan only hope they are as happy and feel as safe in this new adventure as are / do at Kids Planet.

As a single parent I am also supported by all of the staff and they're always always on hand to "have a chat" and answer any questions or just be another adult ear to listen. Thanks everyone!

My child has been going to this Nursey for 1.5 years , this is a Very friendly and professional child care , the staff are lovely and my daughter likes going in 3 days a week . , the venue is very clean and up to date and have recently had a revamp

My second child started in February 2035 when I went back to work. He's settled in so well, and loves his nursery days. The team there are great with him, and you can tell how comfortable he is with them already.

My first also went there until he started school, and he still loves visiting when we pick his little brother up.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at this nursery. The staff are truly exceptional - warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children's development and well-being. From day one, they've made our child feel safe, supported, and excited to come in every day. Communication is clear and consistent, and it's obvious that the team is both highly skilled and passionate about what they do. We're so grateful to have found such a nurturing environment. Highly recommend!

I am so thankful for kids planet. The staff are excellent, their days are full of fun. Food looks great My son was very shy and reserved before and has really excelled. Highly recommend. And very helpful if you need them thank you :)

My son has attended the Nursery since he was 12 months old. They Nursery has, in the last 12 months, moved over to Kids Planet and we are extremely happy with this move. They appear to have the children and Staff best interests at heart. We firmly believe that happy staff will result in happy children and this is very much the case for Kids Planet. My son will be disappointed to leave for school in September.

The facilities are amazing and so focused on play and child development through play. The manager and another specific staff member are so approachable and respond to messages quickly. Thank you all for your support and the important role you play in my daughter's early years.

I moved my daughter from a different nursery to kids planet due to lack of care. As you can imagine this could've been very traumatic for my daughter but it was the complete opposite. Since starting in February she has done nothing but thrive and enjoy nursery. She's excited to go, talks about her day once picked up and has made really strong and close relationships to her key workers, staff members in her room and some beautiful friendships within her class. I couldn't recommend kids planet enough and thank everyone who has made such a negative previous experience such a positive one!

Kind nursery staff, who are all engage kids with lots of fun activities. Children are take outside and to the woods regularly, to build their relationship with nature. They are taught good manners and sharing.

I cannot fault Kids Planet Nursery Shortwood. They have been amazing with my daughter. This is my second child that has attended the setting. The staff are always friendly and professional they are always so informative on how my daughter has got on throughout the day. I know my daughter is safe and is thriving with them.
