My 3-and-a-half-year-old ran out of his classroom after the end of his first day back exclaiming "I love my school so much!". Within a week back he spoke to me in French, told me 'most' of the days of the week, the beginning of the alphabet and climbed to the very top of the climbing frame. He is looked at with such loving eyes by his new teachers and also teachers who nurtured him in the previous year. I knew it was a very special school when we first joined and it's surpassing my expectations every day. I love the atmosphere, the other parents and children and mostly the promise of excellence that Aberdour holds.
Aberdour is such a happy and nurturing environment for the children. My son has been at Aberdour since September 2023 and I can see him developing into an amazing little person. He goes in happily to school and comes out with a happy face. the teachers are so friendly and accommodating. the school is more like a family to my little boy. Aberdour's pre-prep is just amazing.
My children love being at school. We used to live in the outside of London, and we had to make this transition of school and new place to live. It was a big change, and the school was essential in helping them adapt. Teachers and staff are always very polite and caring with the children. It makes me feel welcome and confident to leave them here. I can say it's a wonderful place.
The nursery at Aberdour is outstanding. My children are always excited to go in every morning, greeted by their warm, friendly teachers. All the staff (both teachers and teaching assistants) go above and beyond to create such a caring environment and, because of that, the teaching is exceptional. The new facilities are also incredible and the children are so fortunate to have access to rooms such as their own bakery. All this makes the nursery an excellent foundation for those early years of a child’s learning.
Feel so incredibly lucky that I’m able to send my child to this nursery, such wonderful staff who genuinely care about every single child. My son struggled a lot to settle in at the beginning of both years he’s been here (no reflection on the nursery) and the amount of attention and care all the teachers gave him (and myself I should add!) was amazing. I felt confident that I was leaving him in the best place.
The curriculum is like a little treasure trove of fun and learning. From messy play to storytime adventures, every day is a new adventure. Oh, and the new pre-prep classrooms are like mini wonderlands, sparking creativity and curiosity at every turn! In a nutshell, it’s been a joy to send our little one here. With its warm vibes, awesome staff, and endless smiles, it's where our little buds truly blossom. Huge shoutout to the dream team and everyone else – for making it happen!
I hope we are in the area for our child to remain at this school throughout her younger years.
The facilities are second to none and my daughter loves her lunches and eats a variety of food.
The sports day is so much fun and all the mummy come to class days were fabulous.
My child has attended Aberdour since they were 2 years old and is currently in his last year of nursery. He has had an incredible experience in every aspect. The facilities and opportunities that Aberdour offers are second to none - my child has had forest school activities in the woods, weekly cooking, music, French and PE with specialist teachers. The teachers are fantastic - each class he has been in have been equally as amazing as the last. They are very kind, caring and welcoming. The care they offer is wonderful and we are so grateful. Aberdour offers children the very best start in their education and we are excited for our son to start in Reception.
Both my children have been at Aberdour Nursery from the age of 2 and I cannot recommend it highly enough! The staff are wonderful and incredibly patient and kind with the children. They provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for them to thrive. You can comfortably leave your children here knowing they are in the safest hands.
Aberdour School has an excellent nursery in their Pre Prep department and the facilities are outstanding. The teachers are all amazing along with the learning and all of the fabulous resources available to the children.
My son was at the nursery for one year before he started school. He absolutely loved it there, the teachers were nurturing and supportive and he made some lovely friends. The staff were supportive of both my son and me. We got lots of feedback and updates on how our son was doing, which was really nice to have because our son wouldn’t tell us anything himself. He also came home with lots of artwork (which I enjoy) and there were also some opportunities to go into the nursery to see what he was up to. I would recommend the Nursery at Aberdour to anyone who asks.
My 2-year-old is in the nursery at Aberdour and I couldn’t hope for a more nurturing or safe environment. My son absolutely loves going in, the teachers are kind and patient, and the facilities are top-notch - I can’t believe the variety of indoor and outdoor activities that they get up to. They are currently helping us with potty training and are so supportive. I wouldn’t put my kids anywhere else.

Meet the Team (5)
I joined Aberdour as Head of Early Years and Pre-Prep in 2011. My role is so varied and we never stand still, we are always looking for ways to innovate, challenge ourselves and stand out from the crowd. This means lots of creative meetings focused on innovation. It is our job to inspire little minds, our ethos, centred upon Wonder, Inspire, Discover enables the team to think about the most important skills, life lessons and experiences for our young children, and find new and creative ways to embed them into practice.
The development of our current Nursery and Pre-Prep into a brand new academic and environmentally sustainable space opened in September 2023. We invite you to come and see for yourself.
My name is Louise Richards and I started at Aberdour in 2016 as an Early Years practitioner, in 2019 I became the Nursery Leader. I have 18 years Early Years Educational experience as well as being a mum to two boys. During these years I have extended my qualifications, achieving my Early Years Teaching Degree and EYP status. I have developed a wide range of experiences within a variety of settings and roles, working closely to support vulnerable families, as well as with children ages 0-5years.
We are extremely lucky at Aberdour to have a wonderful working environment where we can enjoy and explore the natural world with the children. I am passionate about leading and supporting the Nursery team in providing a relevant, balanced and exciting curriculum, based around the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. I enjoy creating a personalised experience for the children; meeting their individual needs through providing a fun and nurturing environment that stimulates growing minds.
I am the Room Leader of the Blossom Class. I have worked in the Early Years since 2009 and have experience with all ages from Birth to five. I completed my BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education in 2018, following which, I joined Aberdour Nursery.
The amazing grounds and opportunities the children are exposed to are what initially attracted me to the role, from weekly Woodland Wonder sessions in our very own woodland to watching ducklings hatch in the Springtime. I enjoy creative activities with the children and take delight in watching their imaginations unravel as they explore and investigate.

Working in the Early Years is a passion of mine, I love watching the children grow, and enjoy being a part of their development. I am a trained performing arts specialist and enjoy singing and developing children’s love for Music and Dance through creative play.
