Our child attended Smarty Pants Abbey Lane for around a year and we had a very positive experience. The staff were always professional and our daughter was extremely happy and content there. The facilities are great, especially the garden. We have only moved on because she has joined a pre school close to our home in the primary school we hope she will attend next year. I have nothing but positive things to say about Smarty Pants and would recommend the setting to other families.

Our child has had a very happy 2.5 years at Smarty Pants. From the very start they were able to settle in no problem and we felt that the practitioners went out of their way to ensure that they felt safe, and secure so that they could flourish. Throughout the year our child's key person provided written progress reports where we were invited in to discuss and review the day book they updated. On particular celebration days (Mother's/Father's Day) parents are invited into the setting, which is lovely as you get to interact with your child in the space that they use daily, and the practitioners worked hard to ensure that we had memorable days. The space inside is large, open, and purpose built. The nursery also had a significant outdoor space and they have organized it so that children can enjoy water play, the mud kitchen and a little slide. Our child was always very happy to greet practitioners in the morning, as they were to see them.

It has been an absolute pleasure having your child with us at Smarty Pants Abbey Lane Nursery over the past 2.5 years.We are so pleased to hear that they settled in so well and that you felt they were safe, secure and supported throughout their time with us. Building strong relationships with the children and families is incredibly important to us, so it means a lot to know that you felt involved in their journey and enjoyed the special occasions we shared together.
It is wonderful to hear that your child enjoyed our indoor and outdoor spaces, and most of all, that they were always so happy to greet our practitioners each morning.
We wish them every happiness and success as they begin their school journey. We hope they settle in quickly, make lots of wonderful memories and enjoy this exciting new chapter. They will be greatly missed by everyone at Smarty Pants Abbey Lane Nursery.

My daughter attends a lovely nursery where she has truly flourished. The staff are absolutely wonderful-warm, caring, and always attentive to each child's needs. They create a nurturing and supportive environment that makes every child feel welcome and valued. My daughter speaks about her teachers with so much joy and affection.
The nursery itself is beautiful, with bright, well-organised rooms full of engaging toys, books, and learning resources. The outdoor area is safe and inviting, encouraging children to play and explore freely.

Most importantly, my daughter feels completely safe and happy there. She looks forward to going every day, and that gives us so much peace of mind as parents. Initially, it was a struggle for our son to relax in an environment where he didn't have us there to cling to, including being with other family members. He was welcomed to Smarty Pants and staff were very patient and reassuring with the settling in period. Now I find it difficult to get him to come home with me at the end of the day!
I've also struggled with separation anxiety and found it difficult to surrender that feeling of being in control of your child's safety but our sons development has come on leaps and bounds in the short time he's been there. We are so grateful to all the staff and especially his key worker.
We will be moving to another city soon and it honestly breaks my heart to lose the beautiful connections the staff have worked so hard to build.

I am extremely happy with the care and attention my child has received at Smarty Pants Nursery (January 2025- March 2025). The staff are incredibly accommodating, ensuring my little one feels comfortable and well looked after.
The nursery offers excellent playful activities like sand play, colouring, kitchen corner and reading books that keep the children engaged and excited to learn. Special events like Mother's Day celebrations add a lovely personal touch, making the experience even more memorable. My child has also picked up many nursery rhymes, which shows how well they are learning in a fun and interactive environment.
The key person assigned to my child adjusted so well and has been very interactive, creating a strong bond that has helped my child feel secure.
The nursery offers excellent playful activities like sand play, colouring, kitchen corner and reading books that keep the children engaged and excited to learn. Special events like Mother's Day celebrations add a lovely personal touch, making the experience even more memorable. Our daughter attended Smarty Pants from 6-months-old up until 4.5-years-old and recently left to start reception.
Smarty Pants provided a loving and warm environment, and we were always impressed with the care and attention given to our daughter and her progress at each stage. The staff are outstanding, and I always saw genuine affection for my child, and she was always excited and happy to attend. We felt that our little girl was very well prepared for school with lots of learning in the last year in the pre-school room.
The outdoor space is lovely, and we especially liked that the nursery overlooked the park. The activities each day were varied, and the food was of high quality also.
Smarty Pants provided a loving and warm environment, and we were always impressed with the care and attention given to our daughter and her progress at each stage. My eldest attended here 2017 - 2021, and my youngest is currently in the toddler room. The staff are fantastic and make this nursery so special; very rare that they have a changeover of staff and that really helps the children to relax and feel secure. The outside space is large in comparison to other nurseries I viewed prior to choosing Smarty Pants. The baby room has great equipment/spaces; it's an awesome space for crawlers. I think my eldest wants to give a massive shout out to the chef too - because she always asks me to make food 'just like nursery does'.

I love Smarty Pants. My child attended from the age of 11-months, and I always felt he was looked after so well. They do great activities with the kids. It’s a lovely, cosy nursery. The staff are all professional and so kind.
