The St Mary's Pre-School

Fantastic preschool, all 3 of my kids went here over the years. It is small but gives that extra 1 to 1 time the kids need at times. The staff are great and I would highly recommend taking your kids here. Great atmosphere altogether really. Not much outside space but day trips to the local area combat this issue.

I cannot recommend The St Mary’s Pre-School enough. Both of my children have attended and flourished at this wonderfully caring and nurturing setting. The staff are professional and experienced, yet also become like a second family. The team at The St Mary’s Pre-School were instrumental in supporting me through my second child’s ASD diagnosis just before his third birthday. Their guidance and patience was unwavering throughout what was a very difficult time for our family. I was given advice to help deal with his behaviour, referred to external support networks and expertly guided through the incredibly complex EHCP process. With their help and support, my son secured a place at a specialist infant school upon leaving The St Mary’s Pre-School. The preschool gave him the foundations to make astounding progress. My eldest child now ten, still fondly remembers his time at The St Mary’s Pre-School. It is a very special place indeed. I will be forever grateful that my children were able to spend their early years here.

Our daughter started at The St Mary’s Pre-School about six months ago and we couldn’t be more happy with the experience she has had. She is always happy to go into the preschool because of all the friendly faces that are there to greet her and she always comes home having had a wonderful time. When she’s home she tell stories all evening of the things she’s done at the preschool. From playing down in the forest school with her friends, to an afternoon painting and singing songs. The staff have also been amazing, amidst all the Covid-19 drama, they have always made sure the kids have a great activity filled day. We have also been very impressed with the online platform where we can see what she’s been up to, it’s regularly updated with an explanation of what she’s doing and with pictures. We have been very lucky that we found such a brilliant preschool for our daughter to develop over the next two years.

Our daughter has been attending The St Mary’s Pre-School for the past six months and we are thrilled at the progress she has made so far. We were incredibly impressed at the amount of support she has received from not only her key person of whom she adores but also all staff members, as she can often be quite a shy child which has been made worse due to Covid-19. They have really helped and encouraged her to come out of her shell, which has been so lovely to see. There is always such a wide range of activities for the children to take part in. My daughter always seems to come out with her arms full of paintings, baked goods and most recently a grass head caterpillar, which as you can imagine she was thrilled about. They also have a lovely little forest school within walking distance to the preschool. I always know if my daughter has been down during her session as she will chat about it non-stop for the rest of the day and will proudly tell other family members about her “preschool woods”.

We would whole-heartedly recommend St Mary’s.

I personally can't recommend St Mary's Pre-School enough. My son had two sessions in March before lockdown and then started properly in September 2020. It was quickly identified that he had significant speech and language delay as well as suspected autism. The manager and the rest of the staff could not have been more supportive. They have helped my son so much. He loves attending each afternoon, really enjoys the forest school sessions, has built up a great bond with his key worker etc. I honestly can't fault anything. The range of activities they organise each session is fantastic; they keep a very curious little mind busy each day! They have really focused on my son's speech and language, social interaction, communication skills and so much more. Thank you all.

I would highly recommend St Mary’s Pre-School. Having sent my eldest child and now my youngest, I have nothing but positive things to say about the preschool. Both my children have had an amazing time while at the preschool and absolutely loved their assigned adults, which to me, is very important. I have also found all staff incredibly friendly and easy to talk to if there are any issues. Also, during this tough time, they have taken the most efficient measures to make sure all children, staff and families are safe.
