Founded in August 2006 by Indra, at Rainbow House, they offer more than childcare — they offer a foundation for life. Nestled in the heart of Belsize Park, their Ofsted-registered home-based preschool is a place where young minds are nurtured to thrive, not just succeed.

Their Ethos – Every Child a Leader

They believe every child is a seed of potential — and their job is to nurture that growth with love, structure, and respect. By promoting independence, kindness, curiosity, and self-expression, they aim to raise not just school-ready children — but set the foundations for world-ready humans.

Personalised, Boutique Care

• They are intentionally small — 16 children, 5 staff, including a Qualified Teacher.
• Their exceptionally low child-to-staff ratio means your child is truly known and seen.

A 'Home Away from Home'

• They blend the warmth of a childminder’s home with the structure of a high-quality nursery.
• Children feel safe, emotionally secure, and happy to arrive each morning — as echoed in
their parent testimonials and Ofsted feedback.

Rainbow House took wonderful care of our daughter from 16 months to 4 years old.
The team put great care, effort and creativity every day into making it a happy, thoughtful and well-ordered setting.
Each staff practitioner bought something different and special to their role, and genuine warmth and
skill. They are a wonderful team nurturing each child's personality and talents.
Teaching children different skills and knowledge about nature, science, wildlife, numeracy and literacy as they got older was also very special. All the birthday and seasonal celebrations, particularly in the garden are also fondly remembered.
Our child bloomed there, and we were delighted to see that other children did too. We are happy that our daughter spent her early years at Rainbow House, dancing, singing, growing and making friends. Thank you to each member of the Rainbow House team for everything and all the special, unforgettable memories!

We introduced our daughter to Rainbow House as a toddler (c.18 months) and benefited from the experienced team's help in turning her into a happy and confident child who is now ready to join the primary school of our choice.
We valued the nursery's safe environment, both physically and emotionally.
We particularly liked the approach to mixing children of different age groups which supports the younger one's development while fostering a sense of community and responsibility in the older ones.
Rainbow House's team is exceptional in nurturing the children's development and autonomy through genuine love, play, guidance and encouragement (when needed). We would have no hesitation in entrusting children in their care again!

My son had a truly amazing experience at Rainbow House and I strongly recommend it to anyone in the area. My son joined just before his second birthday and this was his first experience around a larger group of children due to Covid. The staff did a great job of getting him comfortable in the environment.
He was at Rainbow House for 20 months and I am amazed by how he grew over the time. In addition to developing knowledge, he grew to be a leader and a carer. He loved going to Rainbow House and had a clear connection to the staff. We will forever be grateful for the experience he had at Rainbow House.

Thank you so much for your incredible help in nurturing my son during these past months. We have grown deeply attached to you and your wonderful team. My son has learned so much, and it clearly shows that you worked with him individually every day of the week. Your dedication and personalised attention
have made a remarkable difference in his development and progress.
It felt like my son was part of a caring family, and we were delighted to see him learn, play, and enjoy his time with you.The graduation party you organised was also lovely.

We wanted to express again how much we love you, and how happy we are to have sent him to Rainbow House. We will miss you all, and I promise to bring him to visit you frequently. Thank you for everything!

Rainbow House has come as a blessing for our daughter. We struggled quite a bit with nurseries before we found Rainbow House and the moment we entered the setting, we knew this was the right place for our little one. It had a serene environment, calm carers, wonderful aroma of the oils and happily chatting
children. It was as if a scene from a children's book had come alive. The patience of the team, especially with the settling-in period, is commendable. The children are given a warm welcome with smiles and hugs at the entrance and that is when one knows that we are leaving our child in a safe setting Our daughter started becoming more independent within just one month. She started sleeping by herself, eating her own food. Each week she learns new things (there are different themes planned carefully by the team). Rainbow House truly transcends expectations on all fronts. They not only take care of children, they help them grow which makes them different from everybody else.

I couldn't imagine a better place for my son and I am so grateful to the manager and her team of wonderful, kind carers. My son joined Rainbow House at seventeen months old at a time when he only wanted to be with his mum and dad. We did a gradual settling in and thanks to the manager's patience and
through various engaging activities and a lot of one to one time they built trust and a great relationship with him. My son loves going to Rainbow House and talks about his carers and his friends constantly! They do perform miracles - he eats his lunch even on days when he eats nothing at home. At nap time he goes to sleep on his own (since his first full day) even though he has never done this at home once! After two months his vocabulary exploded with English words and phrases. They are constantly doing fun activities- playing in the garden, messy play, arts and crafts - each week has a different theme. I would highly recommend Rainbow House, they have exceeded all my expectations. It's a truly magical, happy place!

Rainbow House is truly a miracle house! My son turned two and was extremely shy due to the impact of Covid and being homebound. After only a few weeks at Rainbow House, he has transformed immensely. He has grown in every aspect of development in such a short span of time. The team at Rainbow House is
absolutely wonderful, warm, welcoming and give regular updates which I love. My son settled in quickly and truly enjoys his time there. He comes home singing nursery rhymes, communicating his wants and needs with ease and enjoys showing us everything that he has learnt at Rainbow House. They provide an all-round development in such a beautiful and personalised approach of valuing every child for who they are through well thought out activities. They have a spacious outdoor garden where a lot of fun activities like gardening, fruit picking, treasure hunts and craftwork are planned. I highly recommend Rainbow House as they provide every child with a strong well-rounded foundation!

We had our son attend Rainbow house from a small 6 months old baby to a 3 year old boy. We were extremely happy with the nursery and our son flourished there. We felt he’s in a safe, calm, teaching, and happy environment. He was happy to go every day. Can’t recommend it enough!

Many nurseries brand themselves as a “home away from home” but with Rainbow House Children Ltd it is truly the case. The children are always happy, and normally busy doing something thoughtful and creative, being kind and gentle with each other and the staff.
Walking into Rainbow House, you rarely
hear a child cry or fuss, the atmosphere is creative and relaxing.
My kids attended Rainbow House since they were 6 months old until they were 3 years old or so. Even at such a young age, I know I am leaving them in a safe happy place.
Rainbow House is a mixed-age setting, which is wonderful as there are always slightly older role models, and younglings to care for.
You send your own packed lunch, which is a little more work; personally, I see it as an advantage as I have more control over their diet. Somehow, they’ll make them happily eat anything, so even at times when nutrition was challenging, I knew that their daytime nutrition was balanced.
Our family is very fortunate to have found Rainbow House

We have found Rainbow House to be an exceptional setting for our little one, who attended from the age of 11 months (she is now nearly 2). The staff are kind and caring, they do lovely and imaginative activities with the children. We appreciate how they spend plenty of time outside in the garden too.
They focus on good manners and sitting up nicely at mealtimes which is much appreciated. They give good details/handover at pick up time too which is really helpful. Our daughter confidently runs up to the door in the morning and sings songs at home that she has learned at nursery. A lovely place.

Rainbow House has been absolutely amazing. Our daughter has been attending since she was 11 months and loves it there. At drop-off, she happily saunters in and waves us off with a smile. The team develops a range of inventive activities. I really like the activities also include physical challenges
which are so important at this stage. In the same vein, there is a beautiful garden and I really appreciated that the default is to spend as much time outside as possible, weather permitting. Overall, Rainbow House develops the whole child. All staff are absolutely brilliant in caring for the kids and developing strong bonds. Finally, while I wish Rainbow House every success in its future growth, I do value having a smaller setting where children across a range of ages can interact with each other. The team are also great at providing updates whether on a daily basis at drop-off/pick-up or more formally through their web platform. Also very receptive to any concerns from the parent side. Grateful to have found it!

Rainbow House is truly a very special and different kind of childcare setting, and anyone fortunate enough to have experienced it first-hand would know exactly what I mean! All three of my children attended Rainbow House, where the manager and her team nurtured and inspired my little ones in every aspect
imaginable. They went above and beyond in instilling values of friendship, respect, and compassion in the children - with each other and with the local community - all whilst having loads of fun! The environment at Rainbow House is thoughtful and considered; it's designed to be very sensorial and accessible, and the beautiful garden serves as a welcome haven for the children. My children's individual personalities were encouraged to shine and they really thrived there. When it was time to leave for school, they left with a great sense of pride and with a plethora of happy memories of Rainbow House. Without any of our own family to help us in London, the manager and her team really became our tribe.

Rainbow House, and in particular the manager, with her holistic vision for early childhood development, proved a Godsend to our family of three boys, each of whom has benefitted enormously from her and her team's care. This is a small group setting with a child-friendly garden and a regular routine
of outings and fresh air, lots of activities, and a cosy nap. My boys are each and every one -- as all children are! -- totally different, and she deeply appreciates the specific needs of individual babies and toddlers. Her team creates a serene environment where a lovely family atmosphere takes hold between the children, allowing them to grow in the roles from 'the baby' to 'the big one.' I think Rainbow House is an excellent setting for working parents to trust their children; the nursery's flexibility and response to emergency situations has always exceeded expectations. This is a very special place worth exploring.

Rainbow House is a delightful setting. Our son went to Rainbow House from the age of 6 months through 3 years, and our daughter is currently there and has been since she was 6 months old. The staff are unfailingly caring and nurturing, and the children have been excited to go there each morning. There
aren't very many children, which gives the children the chance to socialise across age ranges, and as the children grow they get the opportunity to help take care of the babies, which has helped our children become more responsible. They even manage to get our children to eat the food we send them, which is often the same food they refuse to eat at home, which is a minor miracle from my perspective. The fees are higher than many other nurseries in the area but in exchange for the quality of the staff we've found it well worth it.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.750)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.750) out of 10 for Rainbow House Children home-based Pre-School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Rainbow House Children home-based Pre-School is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rainbow House Children home-based Pre-School is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 16 number of registered child places is 3.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 3.2 = 0.625
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
