Weetwood Primary School Preschool

Both of our children have loved and thrived at Weetwood Preschool. It's been the perfect transition from nursery to school, helping them gain independence and confidence. The teachers genuinely care and have strong bonds with the class. The kids are outside so much and they love their playground - we couldn't find anywhere else with such good outdoor provision. A kind, small, happy preschool.

Overall excellent provision. Our son loves attending pre school. He is proud to be part of the school community and regularly comes home enthusiastically relaying his day. The staff are consistently warm and welcoming and have made huge efforts to make the children feel safe and happy at school.

My daughter has been at Weetwood pre school since September 2025- within the first few days she settled in and absolutely LOVES it. She cheers when we tell her she has school in the morning, has a great relationship with other children and staff. School feels very friendly and inclusive.

Coming to Weetwood was a brilliant experience for our son, who had not been in nursery before joining the preschool. The staff were always thoughtful and creative in meeting his needs, unfailingly kind and patient in their approach, and worked very hard to ensure he had a smooth transition into reception class when the time came. He loved his time in preschool and has lots of happy memories from it, and that is everything we could ask for.

Communication between home and school is great and we often receive updates about his learning and progress. Would highly recommend!

My daughter has been at Weetwood Preschool for over a year and a half now and she really enjoys her time there. She feels happy and secure at Weetwood and has a fantastic relationship with the staff there who have really nurtured her and helped her to grow in confidence. The outdoor and indoor spaces are very well planned, with a wide variety of activities available for the children to explore. There have also been an interesting range of workshops with visitors to the preschool which my daughter has really enjoyed taking part in. The communication with parents is great - it is very easy to communicate with the teacher in person, or via their online systems, and we get regular updates about how she is getting on and the new skills that she is developing. My daughter has come a long way with her writing, phonics and number skills since starting at Weetwood, and I feel confident that she has been well prepared for the transition to school in the Autumn.

We absolutely love Weetwood Nursery/Preschool! Our daughter is due to start school this September so when she leaves our son will take her place. We love how professional, friendly and caring the staff are. We love that the kids learn so much and always have a lot to share about their day when we collect them. I love that the preschool organise workshops and events such as summer fair, Christmas fair and sports days, bake sales, Chinese new year, Eid celebrations etc connecting students and parents and teaching them about the world as a whole. We love that the school has all natural materials such as wood, metal and fabrics rather than plastic toys and materials. I love that kids have organised activities and are not just left to free play all day. Can’t recommend Weetwood Nursery/Preschool enough.

Lovely preschool. Wonderful learning and development environment for little ones. The staff are friendly and just the best. The activities and play are well organized for the school year. It is easy for parents and caregivers to follow along with day-to-day learning as well.

I would not hesitate recommending this pre-school.

Fantastic nursery!! Cannot thank the staff enough. My son started in April after the Easter holidays and Weetwood was so accommodating. He absolutely loves going and has progressed so much in the space of 3 months! We receive regular updates on how he is doing in nursery and the various things he has learnt. The teachers are fantastic with him and he always goes in and leaves with a smile. So reassuring to know our son is well looked after when we are not around! 100% recommended.

My daughter has loved every minute of her time at Weetwood Nursery, the staff are fantastic and made her feel so comfortable and welcome (so much so that she cried when they left our house after the initial home visit). The provisions are excellent, especially in the outside area. It also has a great parent community and a fab holiday club. Would absolutely recommend it to other parents.

Absolutely excellent every day. My son has thrived, I can not get over how much he has learnt, developed and enjoyed his time at Weetwood Primary School Nursery. Staff are kind, understanding and loving. My son has woken up each day jumping out of bed to go to nursery. Can not recommend it enough!

All three of my children have been to Weetwood Nursery over the years. All three loved their time there, lots of fun activities, amazing staff which enabled my kids to learn so much from being independent and building confidence. The excellent provision helped my children get ready for reception. I would highly recommend this nursery to others. My children have great memories of the nursery and staff.

Our child turned 3 recently and started attending Weetwood Nursery since September 2020.

The staff have been very attentive and welcoming while we have been settling in. Especially with the significant upheaval due to coronavirus, staff have all gone above and beyond to make our child feel safe and secure at nursery. There is an excellent outdoor play area including a sandpit, muddy play area, slide and climbing frames which the children use in all weathers (appropriately dressed for the weather). The indoor area has a lovely dancing space and a tumbling mat. There are lots of crafts activities and books. The communication with parents is excellent; staff are approachable and kind, we feel they have really taken an effort to get to know our child and help them to thrive in the new setting.

I would happily recommend this nursery to anyone with a child over 3. The staff and setting are wonderful.

My daughter started in September after transferring from a private nursery. She is absolutely thriving! Her level of independence and development has improved so much and she’s so excited about going each day. The information via observations photos and videos we receive each week is fantastic and great to see her working on such a variety of activities. She has quickly made new friends and the teachers that work with her really know her well. The outdoor space is a particularly strong feature too, lovely green areas with a brilliant range of activities. I’m so happy we made the move and feel she will be in a great position when the transition to school takes place in a year. Well done to the staff (including those in the fab after school club too). It makes such a difference knowing she is happy and well cared for.

Really happy with the nursery, my little boy has settled in really well and gets excited about going every morning. We are kept up to date on their daily activities with lots of pictures and videos with an explanation on what they have been doing throughout the day.

Lovely nursery providing an excellent education for children in preparation for primary school. Excellent provision, especially outside. Our child’s key worker was kind and caring. We’re looking forward to our second child starting in the future.

Both of our children had a wonderful time at Weetwood. They settled very quickly and were made to feel welcome, safe and cared for. The indoor space is interesting and varied; the outdoor playground is brilliant and has just been upgraded with water play, climbing area and new equipment. Both children loved the muddy forest school part of the outdoor space. Phonics and numeracy were integrated into play, and the transition to reception was seamless. Opportunity for out of school club and holiday club was brilliant. Very happy overall.

Amazing outdoor play area. My son particularly enjoyed the construction area as well as the sand and water area. There are also lots of lovely indoor resources, which change with various topics. The staff are all lovely and very supportive of the children, and the nursery is well managed.
