Designed to provide a safe, welcoming, and home-from-home environment, the nursery cares for children aged 3 months to 5 years in a setting that encourages learning, creativity, and confidence.
The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, delivering a broad range of play-based learning experiences that support every stage of a child's development. Children's progress is monitored using the interactive iConnect platform, enabling families to stay involved in their child's learning journey.
Bright indoor spaces and a secure outdoor play area provide children with plenty of opportunities to explore, discover, and develop through both structured activities and free play. Fresh, nutritious meals are prepared on-site by the nursery's in-house chef, supporting healthy eating habits from an early age.
Oakfield Nursery is led by an experienced and highly qualified team with extensive knowledge of early years education. Staff provide personalised support for every child, including one-to-one assistance, SEND support, and positive behaviour guidance where required.
All team members hold recognised early years qualifications and receive ongoing training in areas including safeguarding, paediatric first aid, food safety, SEND, online safety, and working with children under two, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for every child.

Overall Experience
Generally, the guvn'r runs a tight ship and has good staff. I feel it is a very good use of a smallish urban space. The children seem happy and safe. Many of the staff are born child-care workers and are excellent at what they do. The cook appears to be remarkable also.

Michela has worked in early years for 20 years. She opened Oakfield Nursery and has managed the setting since it first opened, continuing to look for new ways to help the nursery develop.
She takes an active role in the nursery rooms, joining activities with the children while supporting the wider team. Michela particularly enjoys helping children grow in confidence, develop new skills and prepare for their transition to primary school.
She also works closely with the setting’s SENCO to support children with identified or emerging additional needs. Michela is committed to helping both the children and her team achieve their best.
