I couldn't be happier with Purple Willows at Nuxley Village. My daughter (1 years old) is absolutely thriving and is so excited to go in every day. The staff are wonderful and always greet her with a smile and her name and genuinely seem happy to see us. The setting is well kept and has lots of lovely
resources available and the outdoor space is beautiful.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at purple willow. From day one, the team made both our daughter and us feel completely comfortable and welcomed. The facilities are excellent and have everything you'd expect from a high-quality nursery.

What we really appreciate is how well they keep us updated

on every little detail throughout the day, which gives us great peace of mind. The regular parent evenings are also very helpful - the staff take the time to share our daughter's progress and guide us on things we can do at home to support her development.

Most importantly, our daughter absolutely loves going there! It's wonderful to see how much she enjoys her time and how positively the nursery has contributed to her growth and confidence.

We're truly grateful to the whole team and would highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a caring, professional, and nurturing environment.

I had my daughter full time at the Purple Willows nursery and she felt very much loved by the staff, the food was good as it is freshly prepared on site, the nursery is very clean and the daily activities have helped my daughter to develop nicely. The nursery provided a very good communication and I
always new what was happening with my daughter, a very much needed feeling for any parent.
I would recommend Purple Willows to anyone as I was very happy with my daughter's experience.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This nursery is chaotic, unsafe, and poorly managed. From day one, there were safeguarding breaches, including sharing confidential info about another child. Staff were unprepared, uncaring, and constantly changed without notice. Our daughter's key worker was removed
without explanation, and her replacement never introduced herself. Unqualified staff were used to meet ratios, including kitchen and reception staff. Basic care was neglected-our daughter came home thirsty and sunburnt. Her dietary needs were repeatedly ignored. Promised programmes and trips never materialised; the curriculum is vague and inconsistent. Leadership is toxic-the manager is aggressive, defensive, and unprofessional. We witnessed her shouting at staff and parents in front of children. Fees are extortionate, with charges for services not provided. There's no transparency or accountability. This is not a nurturing or professional environment-it prioritises profit over children.

The nursery is so amazing! I moved my son here after he wasn't settling it at another nursery. They have been so welcoming and nurturing and since he's made such incredible progress. The carers there are very patient and understanding. I love how they keep me updated with his day, informing me of his
progress constantly and really helping with his potty training. I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone in the area!

I think that the teachers at the nursery are great and provided my child with the right tools, experiences, attention that is needed at their age. Over the years there have been ups and downs with the nursery, however the majority of the issues were solved by pushing, sometimes quite regularly, for
catch-ups with teachers and management and talking through solutions. Unfortunately, not everything was sorted, especially a few very important issues related to fees, hidden costs, and communication with top management, completely absent and evasive to talking with parents. It is literally impossible to talk with the Director, and get something changed/improved if it means their direct involvement.

I cannot recommend Purple Willows Nursery enough! The staff are warm, welcoming, and truly care about my child's development. I love that the staff work well with me to support my child and her needs. The facilities are well-kept, and they offer a great balance between education and fun. My child loves
the activities, from creative arts, sensory room play to outdoor playtime, and I have seen significant progress in their social and learning skills. I love the fact they incorporate different cuisines from around the world, e.g. Asian, Caribbean and African like Jollof. As a parent, knowing your child is in such great hands brings incredible peace of mind, I would personally recommend.

My son has recently started at the nursery and has had a great experience so far. He is happy and well looked after. The staff are friendly and show how much they care for the children at the nursery. There are different activities everyday for the children to take part in. The app is great for seeing
what he is up to whilst I am at work.

I cannot recommend Purple Willows enough. My son has been attending for 5 months and in this short time he has learnt a lot, and his speech and confidence have improved so much. All members of staff are friendly, caring and supportive, and all of the activities my son does are well-organised and enjoyable.
I love seeing how much he has developed and progressed since attending Purple Willows. They are very thorough with keeping parents up to date with meals, activities, nappy changes and photos, via an app.

My overall experience was honestly beautiful, at first, I was scared about dropping my little one off on his first day, I had a lot of thoughts go through my mind. Will he enjoy his time and feel loved at the nursery, will they take care of him? All my fears were put to rest, after seeing how happy
my son was each time we were going to drop him off made me happy. They have such a lovely group of teachers who take time to teach and care for the kids. Thanks to staff for making my little one feel so welcomed and loved, he misses you lot.

My daughter started Purple Willows Day Nursery Nuxley Village almost from the moment they opened. We absolutely loved the facilities and staff working there. She always were coming home happy and happily went back. Can’t miss the fact and big thank you to nursery staff for raising their concerns about
her vision. We took her to doctor and she actually really needed glasses. Who knows how long we would keep thinking that she is just clumsy by running into things. Really looking forward to her little sister joining nursery soon.

As a first time mum, I was really anxious about my baby girl starting nursery at 7 months old so that I could return to work but the staff at Purple Willows were amazing and were able to answer all my questions which put me at ease. On her 1st day staff were brilliant not only did they comfort my daughter
but comforted me with reassurance and updates. My daughter loves it at nursery and has settled so quickly with her key worker. The nursery rooms are lovely and spacious with plenty of resources and toys for her to enjoy from what I can see. The parent app is great as I get to see updates throughout the day and get to see observations and photos of the activities she is getting involved in. Even though my daughter is in one particular room all the staff know her and we are always greeted by a friendly and smiley staff member.

We have been very happy with Purple Willows so far. Joining during a lockdown was a difficult time. I had hoped to see the nursery in action before my child started, but Covid regulations wouldn't allow this. The online app and regular contact/feedback from those working with my son helped ease my anxieties
greatly.
He quickly settled and was happy to walk in, often without looking back (whilst I held back the tears!).
I'm still looking forward to the day when parents can visit and see their child with their friends and key workers. For now, though, videos and photos of my boy are lovely to see.

We are really happy with the nursery, our child is enjoying it a lot. He has grown some special bonds with some of his teachers and a few of his classmates and become a very confident little boy. He loves all the activities but especially the garden activities. He also loves helping to make play-doh.
He is very happy to go there each day. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

She comes out beaming, excited to tell me what she’s been up to. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. Lovely little garden for the

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.052)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.052) out of 10 for Purple Willows Day Nursery Nuxley Village is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.289 for Purple Willows Day Nursery Nuxley Village is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.289
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.763 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Purple Willows Day Nursery Nuxley Village is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 number of registered child places is 19. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 19 = 0.263
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
