Little Lancing Day Nursery & Forest School has a real family feel and values every child as a family member. Children have access to beautiful outdoor areas to explore and play in. Rooms are decorated in calm, neutral colours with natural, authentic and open-ended resources to ignite children's curiosity about the world around them.

The staff at the Lancing nursery are highly qualified and experienced to provide a great balance between adult-led teaching sessions and child-initiated play.

Children and staff do everything together - whether learning indoors and outside, going on woodland walks or playing in the extensive nursery garden.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this nursery, from the moment you walk in, it's clear that this is a place where every child is valued and cherished. The teachers are absolutely incredible and each one is warm, kind, and genuinely caring. They create a nurturing environment where every child
feels safe, loved, and excited to learn.
What really stands out is how enthusiastic the children are about attending. Every morning they go in with bright smiles and energy, eager to start their day. And by the time they leave, they're bubbling with joy and happiness, carrying stories of all the fun and learning they've experienced. The dedication of the staff is truly remarkable and they go above and beyond to ensure that every child's needs are met.
This nursery isn't just a place of learning, it's a home away from home where children thrive, grow, and build wonderful memories. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nurturing, joyful environment for their child.

We have been sending our son to Little Lancing for two years. He has thrived and built confidence since day one, even with the arrival of a younger brother this year. Nursery encouraged us to potty train recently and he smashed it and we are so grateful to them for helping us realise he was ready! The
team always go above and beyond and clearly genuinely love working at the nursery. We always feel like our son is extremely loved and cared for and he’s so excited to go each morning which is lovely to see. The facilities are great - clean, educational, and encourage lots of different types of play. The children also get outside a lot which was important for us.
We are happy that our latest little boy will also join next year and benefit from the experience at Little Lancing.

Since the first day my child started at Little Lancing, I knew it was the perfect place for her. The staff are so accommodating and understanding and go above and beyond for her and our family. Being a military family, Little Lancing arranged for certain books to read to her that relate to our family
life. I can't express how much this meant to us. Our daughter loves nursery and has made a lot of lovely friends.

The staff at Little Lancing are extremely supportive of us and, most importantly, our child, who also has a long-term, rare condition and requires daily medication at certain times. Nothing is ever too much for them to do or help with, and their communication with us and each other is second to none.
I have absolute trust and faith in how they care for my child, and I feel so happy knowing that they are a big part of her life and help shape what a lovely child they are and continue to grow to be.

My son settled so well into nursery thanks to the wonderful staff who took the time to get to know him. The different activities each week are great and cooking school and forest school are particular favourites. When my son started he was a fussy eater but now eats a wide variety of food and loves
the food at nursery. We love that it is fresh and prepared on-site. Communication between nursery and home is fantastic being able to see snippets of his learning via the app is also great.

Starting nursery is a daunting time for parents, but from the very first phone call with one member of staff, in particular, to enquire about our son starting at Little Lancing, we knew we had made the right choice. The warm welcome as he goes in, the fact that all the adults knew his name after his
first day, the care when he is unwell and the detailed reports at the end of the day, are just some of the outstanding features this setting offers. Our son's keyworker is incredible and has already built a highly effective relationship with him (and us!). In just a few short weeks, our son has settled fantastically and absolutely loves coming. We can't thank the staff enough for what they do and we are so excited to see what progress he makes with them. At Little Lancing, the children are clearly at the heart of everything they do and we could not be happier with our decision to start there.

An absolutely outstanding setting! I was so nervous and apprehensive about sending my child to nursery and found it very hard choosing the right one... until I stepped inside Little Lancing.


It absolutely blew me away - the setting, the management, staff, ethos, resources and provision! From the

day I looked around I have always felt such a warm and nurturing feel from everyone who works there and it really is like a family.


During the settling process my little boy was upset (very normal) and so was I! The staff were amazing with us both and reassured me every step of the way with phone calls, messages on the app, photos and videos. They just went the extra mile and still do now even though he is very settled.


Can't recommend Little Lancing enough!

This is an absolutely remarkable setting for young children. The facilities are outstanding and the staff are nurturing and work relentlessly to aid the young children’s progression. My children love attending this nursery, they enjoy every second of their time. The days are jam-packed full of activities
and learning opportunities, which has really enabled my children to grow as individuals. I would highly recommend this nursery, we couldn't be happier as a family. The management are flexible and understanding and the nursery staff have pure care for every child.

My little girl started Little Lancing in June, I was very anxious and apprehensive with the COVID-19 situation. However, having spoken to nursery workers had emails and visited for settling sessions I immediately felt at ease.
The settling in sessions were great, a good opportunity for me to see where
my daughter would be spending her day, meeting some of the nursery workers and seeing how they operated. Lots of variety and with the app, we get to see how her days are going and how she developing.
From the first settling session, my little girl felt relaxed and I was able to leave her for the remaining settling sessions.
It took a couple of months for my little girl to run into nursery carefree with a great big smile, however, she only attends 2 days a week. Whenever we drive past nursery she now shouts "Yay" even if we aren't heading to nursery on that day. There have been days she hasn't wanted to come home and wanted to go back to the nursery.
I am so pleased we picked Little Lancing.

Little Lancing is incredible. At the start of lockdown, our son’s usual nursery closed and as keyworkers, we had to find a new nursery within days. Little Lancing welcomed him in and helped him settle incredibly quickly. They found out his interests so they could have activities out ready for his settling
in session that he would want to play with. We were amazed how quickly he settled and he was soon pushing us out the door in the morning.
The staff at Little Lancing nurtured him and his confidence soared. He had so much fun playing with all the activities and enjoyed his time in the garden. He loved the food provided. The staff were proactive about liaising with staff from his previous nursery and his Speech and Language Therapist to ensure they were providing him with the best possible support. They helped prepare him for the transition to school, which he has now successfully done. We are so grateful for the love and care they gave him, he really blossomed during his time at Little Lancing.

This is such a wonderful nursery! My children started nursery at Little Lancing a year ago, and I have been so impressed with their care and development. The staff are friendly and attentive towards my children and to us as parents. Communication is excellent, and we can regularly see what our children
have been doing using the online portfolio. The rooms are spacious, calm and engaging for children and the outdoor area is great too. Each week the children happily skip into the nursery and come home full of stories of the day. I would highly recommend it.

My son was suffering quite badly from separation anxiety when I had to start him at nursery so I was very anxious about it. Little Lancing have been amazing, giving him (and me!) as much settling in time as we needed and working closely with him to make him feel at ease and ensure he had everything
he needed to create the right environment for him. It's such a lovely atmosphere there, like a home from home. They do lots of great activities and have a wonderful natural garden. My son has settled in great he comes out so happy each day he goes there and I'm really glad we chose Little Lancing for him.

Rachel Martini

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2019

Rachel has excellent experience, including managing nurseries for 12 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Studies in Learning and Development from University of Brighton and since qualifying in Nursery Nursing in 1993, Rachel has managed a variety of early years settings. When newly qualified, Rachel enjoyed nanny posts in the West Indies and USA and has experience of private nursery settings in and around South West London, Brighton and Worthing.
Rachel says, ‘I am passionate about the early years and dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for all children. I am thrilled to be establishing this brand- new Nursery which has made a successful start in September 2019. I am looking forward to meeting new children and families over the coming months.’
