Established in 2019, Woodlands Preschool offers a Forest School–inspired early years setting for children aged 2 to 5, operating during school term time. Open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, the preschool combines a strong passion for nature with high-quality educational provision.

Located in the woodlands of Warners End, the setting is strongly influenced by its natural surroundings. Children are encouraged to learn through nature, using natural materials in their play. Everyday objects and real-life experiences are thoughtfully incorporated into daily activities, supporting meaningful and hands-on learning.

The surrounding woodland environment provides rich opportunities for exploration and discovery. Children can climb, dig, and investigate the natural world while being supported in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

Woodlands Preschool is committed to ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their full potential. Inclusion is central to the preschool’s ethos, with the belief that supporting children with SEND is a shared responsibility. My daughter has had a delayed start due to covid which sadly means she will only have five months with Woodlands. Since starting in February, she hasn't had a single day not wanting to go to her new school. She loves her mornings with the girls and the children and she comes back yapping away full of
stories. It makes it a pleasure for me to have to leave her there of a morning and I only wish she would have longer with Woodlands before starting big school. Thanks to the team who have only ever been smiley, friendly, professional and made us feel at ease to have our daughter attend their setting.
Reply from Clare Wilkie, Pre-school owner at Woodlands Pre-school (Warners End) LtdThank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sad that your daughter won't be with us for long but she settled in so quickly I'm sure big school will be a breeze.

My daughter has attended this setting since December 2020 and it is the best decision we have made, sending her here. The staff are absolutely amazing, always smiling and so helpful and approachable. My daughter has really strong bonds with the staff and also has made some amazing relationships with
the other children in the setting. She goes in and comes out so happy every day. I would recommend Woodlands to anyone and everyone, as I know you would not be disappointed.

This nursery is just the best. We have been with them since they started and they have just been amazing. My little boy started as a slightly delayed developer, at two years old and has since continued to become significantly delayed and now has a diagnosis of autism. He requires a lot of personal care
and attention, can present challenging behaviour and is completely non-verbal at almost four. The team here have never, ever made me or my son feel like we are failing or a pain to have. They have even supported us in getting an EHCP, which is a lengthy and time-consuming admin process for the staff. They find ways to communicate with him and help him to feel happy and settled. They always find ways to fulfil his needs, despite his resistance and their patience knows no end. They are caring, fun, nurturing, creative and above all, professional. Sending my son to Woodlands Pre-school is one of the best things I've ever done for my child.
Reply from Clare Wilkie, Pre-school owner at Woodlands Pre-school (Warners End) LtdWow. Thank you so much. This review means so much and we treasure every moment we get to spend with your son. Thank you for being part of the Woodlands family.

Absolutely amazing staff who are so resilient. Tthey have recently had a change of location and the manager and the team couldn't have made it a smoother process for the parents and more importantly, the children. They are fantastic at what they do. My three year old has come on leaps and bounds since
being at Woodlands Pre-school and I cannot thank the team enough.

I cannot recommend this pre-school enough as the staff are absolutely amazing and my son loves them all. Although my son creates every morning before the door opens, he is settled and happy within minutes (he likes to make me feel guilty). They always have a wide range of toys and activities readily
available. We always know when they've been singing at school as that's all we hear up till bedtime. My son was only 2 1/2 when he started in September but within 6 months, he can count to 15 and is amazing with his alphabet.

So pleased we chose Woodlands for our son. He always comes home super happy and excited to tell me about his mornings. All the staff are excellent and very friendly. My son started in January, not long after his second birthday and he settled in really quickly and my mind was put at ease, as I was sent
updates through the morning, letting me know he was having lots of fun.

This truly is an amazing nursery. My daughter loves going and tells me daily about all the things she has learnt and what her favourite part of the day was. She has made some fantastic friends and adores her teachers. They do all sorts of creative activities and go out exploring regularly. The manager
and staff are all extremely approachable and helpful. They are very professional and treat all children as individuals and support, care and nurture them. The team have become an important integral part of my and my daughter's lives. Thank you for all your hard work.

The owner and deputy manager (and the staff at Woodlands) are experienced caregivers who have supported my son's confidence and personality to grow. As a younger one in the group, they have nurtured him to keep up with the others and learn through play and nature. I love how they go on walks through
the woods and the park. My son got to know a little bit more about the ‘real world’ under their care. I was sent photos most days and loved seeing posts of my happy little boy on Facebook. The ladies put their heart and soul into this preschool and I wish them every success.

I can not fault this preschool, my son who is three attends, he also has a medical condition and all staff have been absolutely fantastic with it. They have been so kind and caring, always put my mind at ease. Every time I pick my son up, they let me know how his morning has been and tell me everything
he’s done. I’m so glad I put my son here as any parent knows it can be very daunting choosing somewhere but I made the right decision and I knew the moment I visited, that it was the right place. Keep up the good work girls.

My two children attend this preschool. They are three and two years old. The owner and manager are amazing. They treat my children like their own. Very professional whilst still being loving towards the children. The kids are always happy to go and always enjoy themselves. They have made lovely new
friends among the other children and tell me how much fun they have had that day. I like that they use many different ways to teach children. Learning through play and creating which the kids enjoy. It is a very safe environment. It has everything they need. I know when I leave my children they are safe and well looked after. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely environment for their child to flourish.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.640)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.640) out of 10 for Woodlands Pre-school (Warners End) Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.990 for Woodlands Pre-school (Warners End) Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (95 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.99
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.65 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Pre-school (Warners End) Ltd is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 number of registered child places is 7, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
