LEYF - Barking Riverside Nursery & Pre-School

A lovely nursery where lots of effort is made to ensure the children have days filled with varied and fun activities that are age-appropriate. They really take the time to get to know each individual child and respond to their needs. We get lots of updates on how the children are getting on during the day and the staff are always happy to chat and answer any questions. Highly recommended!

Our little boy joined Leyf at Barking Riverside full time from 9 months until 22 months old when we moved from the area. He had a wonderful experience at Leyf thanks to the team. Staff are caring and go the extra mile for children with different, fun activities arranged most days with lots of take-home crafts as well as invites to parent/family celebration events and parent-only behavioural advice workshops.

I had both my boys at Barking Riverside Nursey and Pre-school and my experience has been nothing short of excellent. The managing staff are extremely helpful and the teachers are very attentive and kind. My second son started nursery at 5 months, and I was naturally worried (him being so young), but the teachers did such a great job that within a few weeks he was fully settled and even eager to go into nursery. My kids were both always very well-fed, and extremely happy. I highly recommend this nursery!

Just as importantly, the staff truly made the atmosphere in the nursery feel like family. My son knows all the staff members' names, and they always make us feel welcome at pick up and drop off. Furthermore, he has built strong friendships with his classmates and improved his communication skills. We will truly miss seeing everyone on a daily basis and would highly recommend this daycare as a great place for your child. Thank you, Barking Riverside!

Very pleased with this nursery. Not only are the staff very welcoming and polite but they have done an outstanding job working with my daughter. I have experienced 2 nurseries with my daughter and can honestly say the difference this nursery is for her. Every time I pick her up or take her to nursery she is very happy. Not only is she happy to go to nursery but she has a great relationship with the staff as she always tries to call their names even at home.

I have noticed significant improvements in my daughter's behaviour and mannerisms and it goes to show when you have a good team at a good nursery it really speaks for itself. I will highly recommend this nursery to friends and family as I only have good things to say.

My daughter attends Barking Riverside Nursery and has been there just over a year now. I would highly recommend it and have had a great experience so far, the staff are always so friendly and caring and my daughter has built strong relationships with them all. They always take the time to give us daily feedback and adapt to any changes in my daughter's needs. I wouldn’t want her to go anywhere else.

Great place for little kids. Managers and all staff at Barking Riverside Nursery & Pre-School are amazing and helpful in every way! Our daughter loves spending time in nursery where every day looks different. She loves fun and, above all, delicious and healthy food. I highly recommend to all parents.

We have been using the nursery for over 2 and a half years for our 2 children, aged 3 (nearly 4) and 15 months. This is a fantastic, purpose-built facility with superb carers. Our children always leave the nursery happy. The meals are varied, healthy and often finished by our kids. The nursery provides a range of activities for the children and feedback regarding development is informative. The nursery have communicated very well with us on all matters from health to home learning and offer good support when we have looked for some advice. Our daughter has made friends with many of the children and most are local which is great. She will move to school next year, but we are pleased to continue our relationship with this nursery for a few more years until our son moves on.

My son started at the nursery in January 2020 at 11 months old. COVID hit not long after he started. During the time at home, the nursery made regular zoom meetings with the children and staff members and also emailed some home learning ideas for us to do with him. The nursery has an app and we are kept updated with nappy changes/ what he has eaten etc via the parentzone during the day and even photo observations on what activities he's been exploring. Our son has been in the baby room and now the Toddler room and always leaves the nursery with a smile on his face and is excited to tell us what he has been up to while at nursery. All the staff members are friendly and show a welcoming manner. Our son seems very happy here and always is happy to go into the nursery. We like how he gets a variety and well-balanced choice of food. The outdoor area is great and the inside is always clean and tidy, the children have started to go for little walks around the area and also to the local coffee shop.

Overall I would definitely recommend this nursery as the first option around the area.

From day one our little boy has enjoyed attending nursery, which has been a great relief as he is our only child, and this is our first experience of using a nursery. Considering all the challenges over the last year, the nursery has remained open and providing for children. Our little one continually comes home and impresses us with what he has learned - and comes home absolutely shattered after having plenty of fun! The staff are all approachable and it is good to see staff and other parents who live locally and who you bump into at local parks. Our boy has made great leaps in his development and we are delighted with the advice and offers by the nursery. The phone app makes it very easy to see what our son has been up to and what he has been eating - which seems to be something all the time!

Daughter loves attending the nursery. She has developed so much since attending and engages in a wide range of activities throughout the day. Staff are friendly, caring and good at communicating how her day has been and she has made great relationships with them and her peers.

Given the extreme circumstances of 2020 as well as being our daughter’s first year in the nursery, we are very impressed and happy that we picked this nursery. My daughter has been in the nursery since November 2020, we were really worried about her settling in plus all the situation about COVID. The nursery met all my expectations and have all the measures in place. All the team for Barking Riverside are extremely helpful, very caring, attentive and make it a really special place, my daughter has fun every day that she goes and I can see how much she learn. Another plus that we like from the nursery is the food (they prepare daily) and we like that the chef creates her menu to give a balanced diet to the kids (sometimes we take ideas from the meals to do it at home). The activities, garden and space are fantastic. I highly recommend this nursery.

My son has been attending for a while now and he loves it and is learning so much. The staff are friendly and helpful, the nursery is well equipped and spacious and my boy loves the food, I also like the fact that the meals are made on-site rather than brought in by a company.

Our son has settled in well and he is always excited to go! Everyone at the nursery is extremely welcoming, and I don’t have anything negative to say. I highly recommend this nursery for all parents!

I can’t recommend this nursery enough! I know that when I drop my Daughter off she is going to be well cared for. The staff are lovely and you can see that they pay attention to and get to know each individual child which is really nice. The nursery facilities are clean and spacious, the children’s rooms are well equipped and the outdoor space is great. Another fantastic feature is the Parent Zone app which enables me to log in and see what my Daughter is up to, I love that photos/videos are uploaded so I can see what new skills she is learning and see her development. The meals given to my Daughter are healthy and nutritious too which is great. I also think the family events which are put on for parents are such a lovely idea as parents get the chance to get involved and spend some time with their children in nursery. Overall, I am very impressed with the care my Daughter receives at this nursery, she is extremely happy here so it’s a thumbs up from me. Thank you!

My son has blossomed here since he joined at 9months old. He is always happy to attend nursery. He is very close to his key worker and all the staff and we have great communication with them.

I found the nursery to be a very friendly environment for my daughter to go to. Any time my daughter goes to the nursery she feels happy and joyful and when she comes back home she always tries to demonstrate things she learned at the nursery. I’ll definitely say that the nursery should continue with the good job they’re doing.

Our daughter started at Barking Riverside when it opened when she was 13 months, and we couldn't be happier with the care she receives. There are a huge range of activities, she's always happy to be left in the morning and has a great connection with her key worker. She's made so many friends, and often doesn't want to go home when we come to collect her! The food is very nutritious and varied, which is fantastic. The staff are always keen to go the extra mile and seem to have real pride in what they do (as they should!)
