As a grandparent who picks up a child a couple of times a week, I have no complaints about this nursery. Her dedicated workers are wonderful with my grandchild and she loves them very much (sometimes wants to stay with them) and I think this is a 5-star review in itself, as children would soon give
off signals of not being happy... she comes out messy from play and is exhausted. All the staff are very welcoming and although the outside space is quite small it is very well used. We get a report on how the day has gone which I know means a lot to my daughter-in-law. There are events happening all the time like Easter Fair and Xmas things and I would definitely recommend mini monkeys!

My granddaughter has been at Mini Monkeys now for 18 months and she loves it. Staff are very nurturing and caring she is always excited to go and loves to tell Granny what she’s been doing at nursery. I think it’s a really friendly place and the staff are very tactile with the children.

My nearly 3-year-old son has been attending Mini Monkeys since June 2022, and it has been an amazing nursery experience for him so far. The staff have been fantastic in helping him develop his social skills including his speech, he's the chattiest little thing and so full of confidence. The facilities
are good and the staff takes time putting on lots of messy play activities (which I'm not so keen to do at home!). The children are also outside in the garden in all weathers which is great because it gives them the freedom to run around and explore in the fun that the rain brings. Thank you Mini Monkeys for everything you've done so far for my wee boy.

My son has attended this nursery since Sept 2023 when he was only 8 months old. He has come on so well at nursery, meeting milestones with the help of the girls who care for him as well as making friends which is lovely to see.
The staff are kind and attentive and my little boy is always happy after
a day playing and learning at nursery.

The staff are amazing at my little boy's Nursery, was apprehensive about how he would settle full time when I returned to work full time - however after the first and second settling sessions my baby was so happy to be with the staff, and waved me off at the door with a big smile, the staff is like
an extended family to my little boy and amazing with the parents always letting us know how his day has been, getting involved with the nursery play dates to see how happy and content he was and how much the staff love and know as much as me about him. It is very reassuring knowing he is happy in those days I’m not with him and having lots of fun.

I am very pleased with the care from the staff at Mini Monkeys, the care my son receives is amazing. The staff are very kind and understanding. Go above and beyond to make sure there are no worries when my son is in nursery. Would recommend it 100% my daughter went here a couple of years ago before
going to school as well and was very good back then too.

My daughter started at Mini Monkeys in November 2023. I've had a positive experience and the manager was helpful from the start including to do with matters of funding and fees etc. My daughter loves it and has good relationships with the staff who are all warm and friendly. I receive a verbal/ written
update every day at pick-up. Although I’m not on social media I can still have access to my daughter’s progress via an app the nursery uses to upload photos and document her learning and development. The nursery does a lot of social and celebratory stuff with the kids, Christmas, Valentines etc and there are opportunities for parents and carers to be involved with information being given ahead of time in the nursery newsletter. I visited a few nurseries however knew Mini Monkeys was the right one for us on the first visit so was delighted to be offered a place for my little one and I feel reassured that she receives a high-quality of care when she is there.

I’m a first-time young mum, and initially, I was unsure about leaving my little one, but both I and my wee boy have never felt more welcomed! From the very initial meeting, all staff have been incredibly welcoming, and my wee boy is loving it! Always leaves and comes back with a smile. I cannot wait
to see how much he progresses and engages further!

My son has been at Mini Monkeys for two years, he has come on in his development and all the staff are lovely and show a real interest in every child in their rooms. The owner is one of the most lovely, kind and caring women I’ve ever met and I’m so happy that she and all of the staff at Mini Monkeys
are such a massive part of my child's life.

Both my children have been attending Mini Monkeys from the 0-2 room, and my eldest is soon to go to school. My little girl will be going to school having a wide variety of skills and knowledge, developed whilst at Mini Monkeys. My little boy who is not two yet can recognise colours and shapes and can
speak sentences clearly. The girls in the nurseries have a great bond with my children and know them well, I feel at ease every day knowing my children are well looked after and happy in their nursery environment. The girls are attentive to all their needs and have extensive knowledge when it comes to childcare. At the end of every day I am given a sheet which provides me with details about what they’ve eaten, nappies/toileting, sleep and an in-depth handover about which activities/trips they have participated in. I am also updated regularly via learning journals about their individual learning it’s lovely to see how happy they are. I am also looking forward to having a stay-and-play day soon.

My first child has attended this nursery for the last four years where they have thrived. Their speech has come along amazingly well and they are growing in confidence. This nursery really complements the curriculum set by the school and helps prepare children for moving on.
My second child also attends
where the staff have developed a positive bond with them. The team for both my children have taken the time to get to know them and develop an understanding of their personalities and needs.

All three of my sons attend mini monkeys. They are all well looked after and have built positive relationships with the staff who look after them!
All three have a variety of activities and learning opportunities each day which we hear all about at handover times when collecting. They are always happy
when dropping off and excited to go to nursery to see their friends!

He has the chance to learn, explore and socialise in a healthy and safe environment, with professional and friendly staff that understand his

Thanks to the manager and staff for taking the time out to ensure all the kids met "Mrs Claus" and have great fun in the festive activities. Notwithstanding the fact that my grandson has dietary requirements, you all made sure he didn't miss out on any foodstuff that the other kids had to eat, many
thanks. I look forward to my grandson's visits when he gets so excited telling me all about his days at nursery.
Keep up the good work. xx

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.584)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.584) out of 10 for Mini Monkeys is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.895 for Mini Monkeys is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.895
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.689 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mini Monkeys is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 number of registered child places is 9. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 9 = 0.889
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
