My grandson is 28 months old and has been at Mini Monkeys since he was a baby . From day 1 this nursery has been first class with my grandson and his development is there for all to see . The management and staff take great pride in the development of my grandson to which I totally appreciate. They
are now helping myself with his potty training which has been great . I would take not hesitate to recommend this nursery to other parents

I love Mini Monekys! It has been an amazing experience to watch my children grow there. The staff are really great, friendly, and knowledgeable. They work hard to make the environment a fun place for all the kids. It's reassuring to have a nursery work hand in hand with parents thru each stage in early
childhood development. Wonderful learning and exploring environment for little ones.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. From the very beginning, the staff have been incredibly kind, patient, and supportive, creating such a warm and welcoming environment for the children.

The team clearly put so much effort into making learning fun, engaging, and age-appropriate. It's lovely

to see the variety of activities they organise and how much the children learn through play and exploration each day.

What really stands out is how dedicated the staff are to supporting each child to reach their own milestones. They take the time to understand every child individually and help them grow in confidence, independence, and learning. Our child has come on hugely since attending the nursery, and it's been amazing to see the progress they've made.

It's so reassuring as a parent to know your child is somewhere they feel safe, happy, and valued. Thank you to the whole team for the dedication, creativity, and care you show every day. It truly makes a difference.

They never took care of my son properly. They acted like my son was a burden on them even though he is a normal child. My son was emotionally neglected and not treated properly. I would not recommend this nursery to anyone. Avoid at all cost.
Reply from Tanya Sneddon, Owner mini monkeys nursery dundee at Mini MonkeysThank you for your feedback . I am sorry you feel this way we enjoyed looking after your son and watching him grow for the past 2 years plus.
The staff and his friends miss seeing him every day. As I am sure his friends that he made here do to . We hope he has settled into his new surroundings quickly and easily and wish him all the best for his future kind regards Tanya .

My son attends Mini Monkeys Nursery and I couldn't be happier with the care and education he receives.
From our first visit the warm and genuine atmosphere immediately put me at ease. As a former EYP and teacher I asked about their documentation and how they follow SHANARRI for example and I was very
reassured by their clear thoughtful approach. The staff have a strong relationship with my child. He often talks about the "ladies" at nursery. The team are attentive and dedicated to helping each child grow in confidence and ability. They plan creative play based activities around interests and I have seen wonderful progress in my sons skills. The owner is an exceptional leader who is truly present within the nursery. She leads with kindness, integrity and professionalism and sets a strong positive example for her team. She is always approachable and always willing to listen. Her passion shines through and this is reflected around the setting. I wholeheartdly recommend this nursery.

My son has been coming to mini monkeys for 4 months now and his learning and social skills have come along amazingly. He adores the staff and everyone has been so accomodating with my son's needs and mine. Handovers are always given in lots of details about their day and they always have nice stay
and plays on for the parents to come and spend time with our babies in the nursery which I love coming to. Couldn't fault them or the staff, they are absolutely amazing with my son.

As a grandparent who picks up a child a couple of times a week, I have no complaints about this nursery. Her dedicated workers are wonderful with my grandchild and she loves them very much (sometimes wants to stay with them) and I think this is a 5-star review in itself, as children would soon give
off signals of not being happy... she comes out messy from play and is exhausted. All the staff are very welcoming and although the outside space is quite small it is very well used. We get a report on how the day has gone which I know means a lot to my daughter-in-law. There are events happening all the time like Easter Fair and Xmas things and I would definitely recommend mini monkeys!

My nearly 3-year-old son has been attending Mini Monkeys since June 2022, and it has been an amazing nursery experience for him so far. The staff have been fantastic in helping him develop his social skills including his speech, he's the chattiest little thing and so full of confidence. The facilities
are good and the staff takes time putting on lots of messy play activities (which I'm not so keen to do at home!). The children are also outside in the garden in all weathers which is great because it gives them the freedom to run around and explore in the fun that the rain brings. Thank you Mini Monkeys for everything you've done so far for my wee boy.

My son has attended this nursery since Sept 2023 when he was only 8 months old. He has come on so well at nursery, meeting milestones with the help of the girls who care for him as well as making friends which is lovely to see.
The staff are kind and attentive and my little boy is always happy after
a day playing and learning at nursery.

The staff are amazing at my little boy's Nursery, was apprehensive about how he would settle full time when I returned to work full time - however after the first and second settling sessions my baby was so happy to be with the staff, and waved me off at the door with a big smile, the staff is like
an extended family to my little boy and amazing with the parents always letting us know how his day has been, getting involved with the nursery play dates to see how happy and content he was and how much the staff love and know as much as me about him. It is very reassuring knowing he is happy in those days I’m not with him and having lots of fun.

My daughter started at Mini Monkeys in November 2023. I've had a positive experience and the manager was helpful from the start including to do with matters of funding and fees etc. My daughter loves it and has good relationships with the staff who are all warm and friendly. I receive a verbal/ written
update every day at pick-up. Although I’m not on social media I can still have access to my daughter’s progress via an app the nursery uses to upload photos and document her learning and development. The nursery does a lot of social and celebratory stuff with the kids, Christmas, Valentines etc and there are opportunities for parents and carers to be involved with information being given ahead of time in the nursery newsletter. I visited a few nurseries however knew Mini Monkeys was the right one for us on the first visit so was delighted to be offered a place for my little one and I feel reassured that she receives a high-quality of care when she is there.

Both my children have been attending Mini Monkeys from the 0-2 room, and my eldest is soon to go to school. My little girl will be going to school having a wide variety of skills and knowledge, developed whilst at Mini Monkeys. My little boy who is not two yet can recognise colours and shapes and can
speak sentences clearly. The girls in the nurseries have a great bond with my children and know them well, I feel at ease every day knowing my children are well looked after and happy in their nursery environment. The girls are attentive to all their needs and have extensive knowledge when it comes to childcare. At the end of every day I am given a sheet which provides me with details about what they’ve eaten, nappies/toileting, sleep and an in-depth handover about which activities/trips they have participated in. I am also updated regularly via learning journals about their individual learning it’s lovely to see how happy they are. I am also looking forward to having a stay-and-play day soon.

My first child has attended this nursery for the last four years where they have thrived. Their speech has come along amazingly well and they are growing in confidence. This nursery really complements the curriculum set by the school and helps prepare children for moving on.
My second child also attends
where the staff have developed a positive bond with them. The team for both my children have taken the time to get to know them and develop an understanding of their personalities and needs.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.603)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.603) out of 10 for Mini Monkeys is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.386 for Mini Monkeys is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.386
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.217 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mini Monkeys is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 = 3.55
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 number of registered child places is 9. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 9 = 0.667
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
