Mini Monkeys

Hi, my name is Tanya, and I am the nursery owner. I am qualified and have completed my SVQ level 3. We have been open for 8 years.

We are a warm, family- run business and we take great pride in creating a welcoming, home-from-home environment for all of our children and families.

I have two children, Leah and Lara and a granddaughter, Myla and a grandson, Beau, which makes this work especially close to my heart.

We aim to provide affordable and flexible childcare to support working parents, whilst ensuring every child feels safe, happy and valued. My favourite part of the business is meeting new families, building strong relationships, and creating lasting memories while helping children grow, learn, and develop in a nurturing environment.

Leah initially opened the nursery alongside the manager and worked here for many years before deciding to try her hand in the healthcare sector. She has since returned to Mini Monkeys after realising her true vocation and passion is working with children.

Leah is a mum of two young children, aged 7 and 2, which gives her a real understanding of the importance of high-quality, nurturing childcare. She has over 11 years of experience in the childcare sector and brings a strong and passionate approach to her role, and excels in creating engaging setups which help to enrich the children's learning.

Leah is based in the 0-2 rooms; however, she oversees and helps throughout all rooms as a senior member of staff. Leah plays a key role in caring and nurturing our youngest children, ensuring they feel safe, secure and supported in their early development. She loves creating fun, stimulating learning experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence and growth.

Leah also really values building strong relationships with families, taking the time to get to know each child and their individual needs, helping to create a warm and trusting environment for everyone.

Tonii has been qualified for 4 years and works within the 3-5 room. I've been here for 7 years, and I am enjoying every minute of it. My favourite part of the job is watching all the children grow and helping them reach their full potential. Tonii helps to prepare the children for going to school by encouraging routines, independence and confidence in everyday activities. This also includes outdoor play, which plays a vital role in children's development by providing stimulating and active experiences. Through engaging in outdoor activities, children can explore their surroundings, build physical strength, and develop creativity, all of which support their readiness for school.

Jodie has recently completed her qualification and is now a fully qualified member of staff within the 2-3 room. She brings enthusiasm and dedication, and a genuine passion for working with young children to her role. As a parent herself, Jodie has a daughter who is two years old and also attends Mini Monkeys, where she thoroughly enjoys her time. This gives Jodie a valuable perspective, allowing her to understand both the children's and parents' experiences within the setting.

Jodie takes great pride in supporting the children's development and finds it incredibly rewarding to watch them learn new skills and grow in confidence each day. She is particularly passionate about creating engaging, hands-on experiences and enjoys planning and providing messy play and creative art activities that encourage children to explore their imagination and express themselves freely.

Heather has been a valued member of the Mini Monkeys team for the past 2 years, working within the 2-3 room and has recently achieved her qualification as an Early Years Practitioner.
Heather has shown great commitment to her professional development and takes pride in providing high-quality care and learning experiences for the children.

Heather is a caring, kind, nurturing individual who is passionate about supporting children to flourish and reach their full potential. She works hard to create a warm, safe and welcoming environment where children feel secure, happy and confident to explore and learn.

Hi, my name is Lidia Branicka, and I have been working at Mini Monkeys for about a year. I have worked in all three rooms and enjoy learning about all the children. I am currently completing my SVQ level 3, and I'm excited to see where my career goes.

My favourite part of the job is meeting new children and creating strong bonds with them.

Hi, my name is Rose, I am the cook at Mini Monkeys and have worked here for over 4 years. My favourite part of the job is thinking of new snacks and meals for the children to enjoy.

Steph is a highly experienced member of the team, bringing 10 years of childcare experience to her role within the 2-3 room. She has a lot of knowledge and understanding of early childhood development, which allows her to provide high-quality care and learning opportunities tailored to each child's individual needs. Steph is a calm, patient and nurturing practitioner who creates a warm and supportive environment where children feel safe, secure and confident to explore. She is passionate about helping children grow and develop.

Kayla is a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner with four years of experience in childcare, having proudly completed her qualification while working at Mini Monkeys in 2025. She works across both the 2-3 room and 3-5 room, giving her a broad understanding of children's development at different stages and allowing her to support smooth transitions as children grow. Kayla brings a positive, energetic approach to her role and enjoys creating engaging, play-based experiences that spark children's curiosity and imagination. She is passionate about encouraging independence and confidence, supporting each child to learn at their own pace in a fun and nurturing environment.

Kerys is a valued and experienced member of the Mini Monkeys team, returning from maternity leave with her beautiful 6-month-old baby girl, who also attends Mini Monkeys. With five years of experience in childcare, Kerys is a fully qualified practitioner, having completed her qualification while working at Mini Monkeys in 2024. She will be stepping back into her role as a senior member of staff within the 0-2 room, where her calm, nurturing approach and strong knowledge of early development make a real difference to the babies in her care.

Kerys has a natural ability to create a warm, comforting environment where children feel safe, secure and well supported throughout these important early stages. Her recent experience as a new mum brings an added level of understanding, empathy, and care to her role, which she shares with both children and their families. She is passionate about building strong attachments, supporting early milestones, and working closely with parents to ensure each child's individual needs are met.

Kayleigh has recently joined the Mini Monkeys team and has already made a wonderful impression within the 3-5 room. She is due to begin her apprenticeship with us, showing a real commitment to developing her skills and building a career in childcare. Kayleigh has quickly formed strong, positive relationships with the children, creating a fun, friendly, and supportive atmosphere where they feel comfortable and valued. She brings a warm and enthusiastic approach to her role, enjoying getting involved in a variety of activities and supporting children's learning through play. Kayleigh is eager to learn.
