Rise & Shine Day Nursery & Pre School

When we started to look at nurseries for our child, we were told to think of it like buying a home, you'll know the right one when you see it. We instantly had that feeling when we saw Rise and Shine. Donna and the team have always been so welcoming, kind and helpful. Our child has been there over a year now and he genuinely loves every day that he's there. There's not a single member of staff we don't like, and that he doesn't like either. We can see in our child's development the fantastic influence of the staff and other wonderful children at the nursery, forever bringing home new words or actions.

We love this nursery and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

There are not enough words for the experience we received at Rise & Shine. As parents of a Special Educational Needs child, the nursery played a pivotal role in helping us navigate the start of our journey with our son's diagnosis. Without their support and care of our child, we have no doubt we would not be in the position we are in now. Two particular members of staff (SENCO) and the team went above and beyond to put in place early years foundation stage, Special Educational Needs practises for our child and also were the ones who initiated and supported our journey to securing our son an Education, Health and Care plan before he started reception in September. Our son left the Rise & Shine team in August, happy and confident and talking, ready to enter mainstream reception at our local primary school. I cannot thank them enough, without their help our son would not have made enough progress to school. The staff are polite, professional, dedicated and above all caring. Our son left an incredibly happy child and we are fully indebted to the team at Rise & Shine for the care that showed him.

We have had children in the nursery from 2018 through to the current date (Nov 2024). We have loved the caring, nurturing, and educating setting they provide and haven't hesitated to recommend it to everyone looking. Our children have been at Rise and Shine from the baby room right through to the preschool rooms and have flourished and gained great friendships, and a sense of their own independence through the encouragement and nurturing of the team.

We have complete faith in the capabilities of the nursery to provide the best possible care for our son. Communication is constant and if anything happens that they need to make us aware of they do so straight away. Educationally we feel that our son has developed immensely since joining the nursery. Special mention has to go to the staff who are always hard-working, welcoming and take excellent care of the children. We are also extremely impressed with the nursery manager who has a great inner passion and drive to maintain high standards and provide the best possible environment for the children.

Leaving your child in the hands of someone else is never easy to begin with, however, I would recommend this nursery time & time again, for treating the children as if their own and providing a great space for them to play and learn.

Both my children have attended Rise and Shine and I couldn't be happier, my son left in 2021 so ready for school, his progress was amazing. My little girl has been there since 2022 and she also has come on leaps and bounds. I have never had problems with either child going in, in fact, they run down the path, all of the staff know all of the children (even if they are not in their room or their key worker) they are so knowledgeable about my child that it doesn't matter who does handover, the staff all work on the children's interests and build on this weekly. The manager is an amazing manager, she knows everyone involved with children at the nursery and my little girl absolutely adores her. She gets involved too, not always in the office but ensuring she has that special relationship with the children. The SEN communication and liaising is brilliant, paperwork all followed up and very professional. The relationships built there are long-lasting and it is a very special nursery.

Great experience - our daughter started nursery quite tearful and shy but as time has passed she has grown so much in confidence and most of the time now walks in with a smile. She also speaks about certain staff members outside of nursery which is a good sign.

My triplets have been at this nursery since January and I couldn’t be happier. As an early years teacher with eighteen years experience, I found finding a nursery for my own children very difficult. Rise & Shine Day Nursery is an excellent early years setting, with fantastic, well structured and adult-focused activities, as well as engaging independent provision. I get a detailed daily report about food eaten, nappy changes, nap times and activities from that day. They also have a learning app with photos and full early years foundation stage assessments that detail of all three of my boys. Most importantly to me though, is that every member of staff is friendly, polite and welcoming. They show genuine care and kindness towards all my boys, who are always so excited to arrive in the morning.

They are everything I was looking for and not finding at our previous nursery. My child is very happy here and I am too. Great communication from carers to children, also great communication from carers and management to parents. They not only have a huge space, they are not limited to one activity a day; they are always busy either playing football, singing, going to the garden or playing in huge dojo room. Food is also very healthy and nice. They support me as a parent for any concern I have eg: I had a problem with my son's eating habit, I had an action plan, shared it with management and they actioned it on the same day, reassuring me they will follow whatever I want to improve his eating habits. They have no obligation to do that, but they don't see this place as a business. They understand what it means to take care of a child. I secretly do not want them to become too popular and crowded but at the same time I want to share my true feelings because they deserve it.

Both my children attend Rise & Shine Day Nursery, and I could not fault it. I honestly feel when I drop my children off, they are with family. The environment is warm, kind, welcoming, and above all, safe. My son has attended for over a year, and he has come on leaps and bounds. My daughter, who was a "lockdown baby", has come out of her shell and loves the interaction with her friends and all the staff. The garden is fab, the dojo room is brilliant, and the main thing is my children ask to go even on the days they don't. Thank you, Rise & Shine.

My daughter started at the Nursery three months ago, and I couldn't be happier with her progress and attitude towards going in, I find the Nursery is filled with such warmth and love from the staff and especially my daughter's Key Worker. My daughter doesn't speak very much but hearing her calling for her Key Worker and putting her coat and boots on and waiting by the door with a smile on her face is good enough for me, plus she gives me great feedback on the collection and I have no fear on leaving her with her, I only wish she could babysit in evenings too. I had a dread in me before my daughter started any nursery but I feel I picked the best, I can't thank all the girls enough, it will be very sad to see my daughter leave in September when she starts primary school.

When I accompany my son in the morning, I always feel confident that he is going to have a great time. Staff are kind and patient and organise activities to help our children learn and develop their skills in a safe and nurturing environment. I love the spaces and I really like the fact that children spend time outdoors when the weather allows. I really appreciate receiving feed back about how my son is progressing.

Amazing nursery... My daughter has been going here since November. I went to look at various nurseries and as a mother, you just know when it feels right. This one did. I can’t phrase the staff enough. My daughter loves going here for her two days a week and she always wants to go to the staff and kisses me goodbye as she can’t wait to get stuck into her day here. She's always so happy. She has learned so much whilst being here she’s being moved to another class, I’ve noticed such a difference in her learning. The manager and the team really are doing an incredible job and I feel so content that my daughter is happy.

I couldn’t ask for a better place to send my son two days a week while I’m working in London. I know that he is completely safe and has the best time. The staff are lovely and I was so impressed with the Manager, I didn’t even need to view another nursery as I knew I wanted him to go there. The cleanliness is excellent and I completely trust everyone who works there. I can’t recommend it enough!

Constant problems since my daughter started here, ridiculously bad communication (for example on my 19th phone call I finally got through to the office today!) getting hurt, changes in behaviour. No reports or assessments on my daughter's progress etc. that’s just the basics. Loved the nursery when I went to view and trusted it to be great for my daughter, massively regret it now.

Since my son, has been at Rise & Shine nursery we have only ever had good things to say and feel about this nursery. He loves everyone there and never wants to leave when it's home time! The staff are wonderful, the facilities are brilliant and the way the nursery is run and organised is a 10/10. He eats every single thing they provide and looks forward to spending time in their garden and the DOJO room! Overall we love it and couldn't imagine going anywhere else!

Being first-time parents choosing a nursery was a huge decision for us. After checking out a few Sidcup-based nurseries the moment we walked into Rise and Shine we knew it was the one for us. The staff are fantastic, all of them have been so welcoming, and our son looks forward to his time there. The management have been professional from the moment we started at Rise and Shine. The daily updates make us feel that much more connected to our son's nursery experience, and we look forward to hearing all about his day, not only from him but from the fantastic reports we receive each day. Their facilities are clean new and the dojo (soft playroom) We certainly recommend Rise and Shine!

Myself and my husband couldn't be happier with Rise & Shine Nursery for our 18 month old daughter. My daughter's been attending the nursery for over 6 months and the difference in what she can do in this space of time and her confidence has really grown. Not only that but we are most happy with the wonderful staff at the nursery. The Manager is excellent as are her team of extremely caring and dedicated staff. Before our daughter started, she attended a number of settling-in sessions which definitely helped ensure a happy and positive start to nursery (especially as she was a 'Covid baby'). We can't believe how many activities they do each day. Facilities here are literally second to none as the children have access to a huge soft playroom in addition to their normal room. The outdoor area is big too and they go into the garden each day. The setting is safe and private. The staff keep us fully up to date with our daughter's progress at nursery through the app and daily (email) reports.

I cannot recommend Rise & Shine highly enough. The facilities, staff and overall environment are exceptional. When choosing a nursery, the team couldn't have put us more at ease.

My experience at Rise and Shine Nursery has been excellent. The facilities are kept well maintained, very clean and lots for children to do. The staff are amazing, they are all so friendly and you feel confident in leaving your child with them. They have a lot of time to speak to you if you needed too.
