Absolutely wonderful nursery couldn't ask for better for my daughter, everything is outstanding. The staff I can't give enough praise about, the setting and facilities are beautiful, clean and welcoming, the care for the children is outstanding. On-site homemade dinners and snacks, different activities
everyday, beautiful gardens. I feel privileged that my daughter has got the opportunity to attend as she has excelled so much whilst being there.

I found it extremely hard to find a nursery that I felt comfortable sending my 1-year-old to. I looked at lots and when I found Play & Learn and had a look around I knew it was right straight away.
One of the little things that I loved was a no outdoor shoe policy for staff and parents in the baby
room and next room up.
They had a dedicated area at the quiet end of the room for naps - this was a major thing for me as my son has always loved a dark, quiet room. So I was really stressed as to how he was going to fall asleep as he has always liked to fall asleep on me while being breastfed. But by day 2, he had completely mastered two naps a day, settling himself after a little cuddle by the staff. Receiving a photo on his account to show him snuggled up asleep made my day.
I receive updates daily on his care on his account from what he has eaten, his nap times and when his nappy changes were. I also receive photo/video updates to show what he has been up to that day.
The staff are all fantastic.

My twins began nursery in July 2018.
We were a little nervous, to begin with, however, the staff are all so kind and caring, they instantly make you feel at ease.
Our boys have such a lovely bond with the carers at nursery, the rooms are all bright and clean.
You can easily see the practitioners
all enjoy what they do and the nursery is well managed.

My child has been attending Play and Learn since 2015, since attending all members of the family can see a massive difference in confidence and ability. My daughter used to attend for 3 days a week and now due to work commitments she attends 4 consecutive days. She often asks on her day off if she can
go to nursery. My daughter was 8 weeks premature when born and I had concerns about sending her to nursery as I was worried about the support she would get, I have to say it's been amazing, her confidence and social skills have improved and she has a great relationship with the staff who she comes home and talks about.
I love the fact that she comes home with things shes made and they are displayed on the wall for everyone to see.

I can't thank the staff enough for the support they have given my daughter in getting her to where she is today. We are really happy we also get to take part in events and sessions held at the nursery.

My daughter has been going to Play and Learn for 2 years since she was 13 months old. From the moment that I was shown around the nursery, it was clear that they place the happiness and the development of each child at the centre of everything they do. They place a big emphasis on learning through play,
and in my view, this is really effective. I’m beyond pleased with the rate of my daughter's development, but more importantly, she is really happy at the nursery. She currently attends 3 days a week, but frequently asks to go on her days off!

The staff are fantastic and clearly enjoy what they do. They give detailed feedback at the end of each day, an annual parents evening and regular opportunities for you to get involved with activities which is a nice way to observe your child in the setting.
The setting itself is fantastic, with a nice indoor and outdoor space for all.

I moved my oldest daughter to Play and Learn Ltd Nursery when she was nearly 4 years old in September 2016. She had been going to a previous nursery from when she was 9 months. I was amazed by the immediate change to her personal development, she blossomed due to the love and attention she received
from the staff. She has since moved on to formal education and greatly misses the nursery. This gave me the confidence to enrol my youngest in February 2017 at the age of 10 months. She absolutely loves it there, has settled in beautifully and her development is outstanding thanks to the staff. Excellent nursery, I would highly recommend it!

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.084)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.084) out of 10 for Play & Learn Nursery Sutton Coldfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Play & Learn Nursery Sutton Coldfield is calculated as follows: ( (72 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.084 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Play & Learn Nursery Sutton Coldfield is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 number of registered child places is 12.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.4 = 0.484
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
