We could not be happier with this nursery since our son started in August 2024, just before his first birthday. The staff are super friendly, warm and welcoming. We were offered an amazing settling-in period, sessions over a two-week period. This really helped us both increase our confidence.
Nursery
has helped us out last minute when we were short of childcare on a day we don't have a space and we are so thankful that they try to accommodate this where they can.
When we drop-off and pick-up, all the staff wave and sing 'hello' to my son, which lights up his face, he is so happy to attend and has developed so much in their care.
Well done to the whole team for creating such a beautiful environment for young children, I'm not sure what else any parent could ask for.

Ever since my daughter started at Brighter Beginnings she has loved every day. Her development has come on so much, within 4 weeks she is hitting her goals. She comes home with a massive smile on her face, it's all we ever wanted from a nursery. The staff are gorgeous and care for all her needs!

My son has been attending this nursery since January 2024 and it is a very good nursery.
The manager is very accountable and friendly. Always on hand to answer any questions and will often be seen chatting to parents ensuring that everything is ok.
My son's room leader is a wonderful member of staff
and very attentive to my son and friendly to speak to.
The food variety is excellent and non repetitive and accommodating to my child's cows milk protein allergy needs.
There is a slight barrier in communication with some members of staff but overall I would highly recommend this nursery to other parents.
My son is thriving and his development has been wonderful to watch throughout his nursery journey.

Brighter Beginnings Day Nursery, Burnage has gone above and beyond for my son when he started nursery. My son was much younger than my daughter and so, I was more nervous about him settling into nursery. The process did take a long time as well however each staff member that was involved in my son's
care in the Babies Room was so unbelievably attentive and supportive of my son and myself, as I was worried it was taking a long time to settle him in. Three members of staff, in particular, all helped my son settle in and one of them, in particular, spent a lot of her time ensuring we were going at my son's speed and not pushing him too hard, she called me every day my son was in and gave me regular updates and assurances and I could not be more happy with the service provided from the nursery. I would highly recommend.

Our son has attended this nursery for a year and a half and we couldn’t be happier with the care he receives. The staff look after the children with kindness and provide a fun and stimulating environment. We couldn’t be happier with Brighter Beginnings and would make the same choice to send our child
here again in a heartbeat.

Daughter settled in very quickly and loves the staff. Very welcoming and easy to talk to. We had some issues initially with our daughter being given food we'd asked to avoid (not allergy-related), but new management resolved this quickly. Would highly recommend the nursery to any parents.

I began settling my little girl at the nursery and it was a great experience, the girls were really understanding of my worries when leaving her. The staff helped me feel comfortable throughout the settling sessions whilst leaving my 11-month-old daughter. The manager was really welcoming and answered
any queries I had. The staff seem really happy and ensured there were things for the children to explore. I am looking forward to my little girl continuing her journey and making progress whilst being here.

My daughter has been studying here for 2 years, she has made huge progress in this period. The staff at the nursery are excellent they are very cooperative. I never felt uncomfortable when my daughter studies here. Every day they inform me about my daughter's activities and I really appreciate that.
They always serve good food and drink to the children. My special thanks to the nursery management for their hard work. I hope they will continue in the future. I wish all the success of the Brighter Beginnings.

This nursery is a very friendly place with so many great activities for children in order for them to enjoy themselves and further their learning and development. My daughter is a notoriously shy child who struggles to communicate with people other than me and her father and being at this nursery has
enabled her to come out of her shell. She has learned so many words and good manners at the table and when playing with other children. She is clearly enjoying the experience and I cannot wait for her to be able to go in for more hours when she is 3. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, they managed the pandemic well, always wearing appropriate PPE when in contact with parents. As a key worker, I was grateful for still being able to go to work knowing that my daughter was in safe hands. Following a day at nursery, the friendly staff always give me a thorough handover about her day. If I could afford it, she would be there much more as it is a brilliant place for her to play and learn.

My daughter attends this nursery Monday to Friday and she absolutely loves it here.
The staff are all so lovely and always have big smiles on their faces which makes you feel at ease.
What I really like is that every day my daughter comes out with something that she has done, from pictures to biscuits
and little keepsakes which I personally think is so special.
All the staff go above and beyond here for the children and you can tell they care for each and every one.
Coming to this nursery my daughter has come so far from when she started, as before she came here she was very shy and didn’t want to leave my side and with all the help and support from the staff at the nursery, she is now a bright, confident, social little girl.
The nursery is lovely and clean and full of art and decorations for the children.
Would highly recommend this nursery.

The staff are amazing here and love the kids so well. They are friendly, kind and really help the kids play, explore and grow. The whole team have gone above and beyond this year and I have never had any worry sending my little one in. She has thrived and is thriving in this nursery and it has been
a total God send this year. One thing that I noticed right from the get go is how the staff get down to the kids level and engage with them, speaking to them kindly and clearly, this impressed me from the off. It's a wonderful place.

I have two daughters at Brighter Beginnings and since my 4 year old started in 2019, we have been really impressed with the way the nursery is run, the effort and thought that goes into the activities the kids take part in. Since the manager took over management at Brighter Beginnings Burnage I have
felt very confident in the care and development of both my girls 4 and 18months. Both kids happily go into nursery and have always had action-packed days exploring different activities, messy play, painting, nature, physical exercise (lots of outdoor space), writing and numeracy. They have both thrived at Brighter Beginnings and have made great bonds with the staff and fellow children in their classes. When we have had issues (minor and rarely) I have felt welcomed and supported by the manager and the team, with them doing everything they can to problem solve and suggest strategies going forward. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a nursery or preschool for their kids.

Great friendly staff. Very helpful and kids love it. My kids wouldn't settle at all at first, now they're used to it they love it and enjoy going to nursery every day. I haven't had the chance to experience trips etc due to Covid restrictions but despite that nursery effort is great overall.

Having sent both of my daughters to Brighter Beginnings Burnage, I would not hesitate to recommend the nursery. My 4-year old has developed strong communication and social skills, while thoroughly enjoying the wide range of subjects around which the nursery builds an imaginative and stimulating range
of activities. I am consistently impressed by the new words and abilities my 1-year-old comes home with - she also doesn't even glance back at me when I drop her off at the door. They both come home tired and very happy from nursery, even when my elder daughter has been a bit challenging in the morning. Over the last 12 months, the managers and their excellent team have made nursery days exciting, fun, and educational for both my girls. They also get them to eat a wide range of foods, which is more than we can get them to do at home.

My daughter loves going to nursery here and is always welcomed like a home from home. The staff are really kind and caring and look after her and take so much joy in chatting to her and following her interests. From day one she has settled so nicely and talks about all her teachers and her friends that
she loves to play with. The managers are very flexible too and if I have to change days they are always really good and nothing is too much trouble. Over Covid it has been great to have the nursery looking after my girl with all the new safety and everything up to date. I would recommend this nursery as my daughter is so happy and settled there.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.903 for Brighter Beginnings Day Nursery, Burnage is calculated as follows: ( (261 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 288 Ratings = 4.903
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brighter Beginnings Day Nursery, Burnage is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

My passion for childcare first brought me to work with children 8 years ago. I started as a level 3 apprentice with Brighter Beginnings training school and started at Brighter Beginnings Newton Heath. Through consistent hard work and dedication, I worked my way up, going from a room leader to a deputy manager. One of the most significant times in my career was when I helped support my manager to gain Outstanding in our OFSTED. My determination and my ability to inspire others helped me to get to where I am today, which is the manager of Burnage. I am extremely passionate about providing the best start for children in my setting and truly believe that providing high-quality childcare has a significant impact on children’s development. My aim in life is to provide children with the best experiences and opportunities to ensure they have the best possible start in life.

Early years have always been a big passion of mine as I truly believe that children are our future and how we shape them will have a lasting impact on who they become. I started my childcare journey 19 years ago, making the decision to join Brighter Beginnings 12 years ago. During my 19 years in childcare, I have dedicated myself to my studies and have gained a degree in childhood studies. I pride myself on my knowledge of childhood development and I often help mentor the apprentices and help them on their journey to become outstanding practitioners. Something I’m extremely passionate about is supporting children with additional needs as I feel like these children need an advocate and someone to be their voice who will support them and help them to reach their goals. Therefore I am currently doing my masters in Psychology to further my knowledge of neurodivergences so I can apply this to my current role and support the children in my care. As Early years is continuously changing I ensure that my knowledge is kept up to date not just regarding child development but also in regards to legislation. One of my biggest strengths is my empathy for others and being able to support staff through this I have worked my way up to become deputy manager.
