This is a wonderful nursery which I would have no hesitation in recommending. Our eldest daughter attended this nursery over 10 years ago and now our youngest daughter attends. The education/care standards are of the very highest standard. I feel completely safe and assured leaving my daughter with
the manager and the team. They genuinely love and care for all the children, putting them first always and their wellbeing is always the highest priority. It is a lovely setting in Old Windsor, very easily accessible, safe, with a lovely large garden, lovely facilities and very safe and secure. It is also very clean and the team take great care of the children's eating and drinking. The school that my daughter will now go on to join also highly praised this nursery stating "We love taking children from your nursery they are always so confident and advanced". I cannot speak highly enough or shower enough praise on the manager and the team, they are wonderful and really love and care for the children.

From the moment my daughter started, she thrived in the warm, caring, welcoming, and stimulating environment.
Staff are fantastic - highly professional, but also genuinely caring and attentive.
They get to know each child individually, understanding their unique needs and interests.
Its bright,
clean, and well-equipped, with a wide range of resources and activities to keep the children engaged.
Children are encouraged to go outside in all seasons and so are not kept inside all day.
I've been amazed at how much my daughter has learned & developed since starting at Windsor Montessori, from her communication and social skills to her growing independence.
Communication with parents is also a strong point. I receive regular updates on her progress, and staff are always available to answer any questions or address any concerns.
It's a nurturing, supportive, and fun place where my child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn. I would highly recommend it to any parent looking for outstanding childcare.

This Montessori has been truly amazing. My daughter is really excelling here and has learned some essential life skills. She is really independent and loves going to nursery. The activities and events they hold are magical and will remain as great memories for us. I can't recommend them highly enough.

My son has been attending this nursery for more than three years now and I wouldn't think of him attending a nursery that wasn't looked after by the manager. She and the staff really appreciate children and have so much patience for helping them grow and develop following the Montessori methods thoroughly.
The environment is calm and all of my relatives are amazed at how independent my son is for his age - and he is a very energetic and precocious boy! Every activity is done thoughtfully and with such consideration for what is best for the children - both emotionally and mentally, which creates an environment for the children to become close and the parents to feel like a community. I cannot think of a better place for my children to be safely cared for and prepared for school.

As a family we love this nursery, including my little one who claps at the back of the car when we approach the entrance, I believe that speaks by itself. It's a wonderful pace, a lovely facility with an amazing owner and staff. It's all about the children, their development, helping them and caring
for them. We feel super lucky to have a place for our little one and we will want all our future children to go to this nursery. Thank you Windsor Montessori House of Children for being so amazing at what you do.

Since joining Windsor Montessori House of Children my daughter has developed in so many ways. She is more confident and balanced and looks forward to going in and seeing her teachers and friends. Our daughter has had the most amazing time at nursery. She has had lots of fun, come on steadily and developed
very well. The staff are amazing and priceless. They are passionate, understanding, respectful, and welcoming. Overall we absolutely love the nursery and it came so highly recommended that I couldn't ignore it. I appreciate all staff. It is my daughter's second home.

Firstly my eldest and now my youngest child attends the Windsor Montessori House of Children. Having known the setting and the staff for the past eight years I do not have the words to express how wonderful the staff, their care, dedication, nurturing and love towards my children during their care has
been. Never have I felt worried about leaving my children under the care of the staff, who have many years of experience and are a stable close-knit team, providing the security parents and children need. In addition to this, the small class sizes mean more focus, attention and care is given to the children.
With their true authentic Montessori teachings and ethos, my eldest child was equipped with independence, knowledge and the foundations that provided her with much self-confidence and a head start in a conventional school environment. All round in what the team does, I cannot recommend this wonderful nursery enough.

I need to begin this review with the caveat that I work in education. I have exceptionally high standards for the care and education of my children. I recognise the importance of the formative years of education, where children go through rapid development and this needs to be nurtured. With this in
mind, I was looking for a nursery which would foster a love of learning and play, independence, thinking skills and social and emotional awareness. Windsor Montessori House of Children does exactly this. I was thrilled to discover the same manager was still running a Montessori having attended her school myself (I won't write how many years ago...) My eldest was born before lockdown and settling in was difficult but the staff at House of Children couldn't have been kinder and more understanding. I was so grateful my child was able to build meaningful attachments with the warm and friendly staff who go above and beyond to nurture the children. My child loves attending, her younger sister will be joining in the new year and I am so grateful.

The Windsor Montessori House of Children was recommended to us by a neighbour, as we were new to the area. I cannot express how thankful we are that the recommendation was made. Not only does Windsor Montessori House of Children practice true Montessori teachings, the staff are so kind and it feels
like a home away from home. I visited a number of other daycare/nursery settings and safe to say I felt the connection to the school immediately. The team's warmth, dedication and commitment truly shines through and they make every effort to ensure each child is treated as an individual as well as take the time to get to know the children and parents. I drop my daughter every day and know she will have a good day and is happy. Thank you for all the team does. We are so grateful.

A rather dreary and depressing setting for young children. They do not thrive here in this nursery at all. Very few toys and little ‘fun’ for them. The carers do not nurture or bring out the best in the children and the amount of staff turnover is enough to show how unfortunate this nursery is.
Where
children should be uplifted and made to feel safe, they are silenced and come out rather timid and quiet.
I would not recommend this nursery to anyone.

I know my child is in safe hands from the moment I drop her to nursery. Staff have developed such strong bonds with all the children; the children feel happy and safe at all times.
The nursery has a great Montessori teaching system, my daughter loves to learn through play and the close interaction
with the teachers and other children.

If like me you were looking for a clean, safe environment with small classes and consistent, experienced staff then there is no other nursery I would recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.676)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.676) out of 10 for Windsor Montessori House of Children is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.976 for Windsor Montessori House of Children is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.976
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Windsor Montessori House of Children is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 number of registered child places is 6, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
