Little Bears in Whiteley Village has been amazing with my two children. Every day my daughter goes in happy and tells me about her fun day. I love that the staff all build relationships and bonds with all the children, making each interaction personal.
I feel happy and at ease knowing my little girl

Since our son started at Little Bears when he was just 2 he has flourished!
Every day he tells us all the exciting things he's been up to and I feel like he gets amazing support from all the staff. We are well informed all of the time and couldn't be happier that we chose Little Bears for our son's
nursery.

Such an amazing nursery. My son has been there since he turned 2 and I watched them help him grow from being a quiet, emotional and shy kid to a super chatty, confident, fun and interactive 4 year old, ready for school! They are so good at understanding kids and providing a nurturing role at first,
to one that just lets them be themselves in a fun and family like atmosphere. They really understood my little one through and through, we were so lucky to have found them! Hugely recommended. Not too big a group of kids, outdoor space, beautiful setting, lovely food, lots of fun activities through the year to get families involved. Thanks Little Bears!

I couldn't recommend Little Bears at Whiteley Village enough. The team are fantastic, they take the time to really get to know your child, their likes and dislikes, and are so kind and attentive. Each evening at pick up, the team are excited to tell you about what your child has been up to that day,
which I find so special. My son has an amazing bond with his key worker, who has gone out of her way to make sure he's happy every day. The children have access to outdoor play every day, and also take part in music and sports classes every week which I love. They also regularly take trips to the pond, for nature walks, and to spend time with the residents at the local care home. My son has come on so far since joining Little Bears. Although he will be sad to leave nursery as he moves on to school, we have already signed our youngest child up to join when he turns two, and I know he will enjoy Little Bears just as much!

We moved our son from another nursery in the area to this one when he was 2 years old (he's now four and a bit) for several reasons:
The staff - the staff turnover is low meaning we and our child have built a strong relationship with them. They are all experienced professionals, and we didn't have
the thing we had at the previous nursery where we would turn up and meet an agency staff member looking after our son.
The setting - being set among green open space is an incredible opportunity for the children. They go on nature walks in the forest and play outside in the safe and enclosed nursery gardens every day. The previous nursery had AstroTurf and limited time outside so this is a huge bonus.
Proximity to the old peoples home - unique opportunity for intergenerational interaction as the children are taken on visits to sing for the residents of a care home in walking distance. This is cherry on top of the cake.
We love Little Bears :-)

A really beautifully located nursery, situated across from a large cricket field in Whiteley Village. The staff are so friendly and warm, and our daughter loved it! The team are dynamic and motivated, the daily food menu is brilliant and the daily updates and reports were really insightful. There are
regular events for the families and local outings for the children. Highly recommended!

My child attended Little Bears Nursery for approximately the last 18 months and has just left as of August 2023 to go onwards to reception at a local primary school. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the care and development that our child received whilst at Little Bears.
The facility is very
good and well laid out with an excellent outside space and the children go for walks around the local woodland from time to time. The carers gave off a very positive vibe and the culture of the nursery was clearly good and the children's behaviour showed accordingly. They ran sports days and special events which were brilliant.
Our engagement with the management team was always helpful and professional, the food was really well done by a chef who cared deeply that the children ate well and tried a good variety of food. The carers were so kind and our child always spoke about them with a happy glint.
Thank you for the excellent preparation you gave our child we are most grateful.

We absolutely adore Little Bears! We currently have two children at the nursery, and our third daughter is already down to start next year. The staff are absolutely fantastic! There's been very little staff turnover in the 3 years my children have been attending the nursery. The staff really care, and
they're wonderful with the children - mine have absolutely thrived since they've been there! The setting is lovely, it's green and spacious and feels completely secure. I find it incredibly calming when I drive through the gates into Whiteley Village. The children play playball on the field, go exploring in the forest, and ride their bikes around the patio. It truly is a home from home environment, with exceptional management. We've recommended it to so many friends who love it as much as we do!

An absolutely superb nursery. Our daughter has been attending for the past 2 years and she has always been so very happy there.
The nursery setting is great, warm and welcoming, with a 'home from home' feel. Staff are simply amazing, truly. The entire team that works at the nursery is very stable,
little staff turnover, which speaks volumes as well to how well regarded they are by the nursery manager and by parents.
Wholesome meals are provided every day, cooked on site by the nursery chef who is really lovely as well. Always prepares extra treats at special occasions such as Mother's Day breakfast or Harvest Festival etc, where staff, parents and children all come together.
The nursery is very well managed, excellent communication channels with parents, could not fault it.
The site of the nursery is great, access to the green cricket ground and forest, excellent and secure outside gardens. Location is pretty unique!
An excellent nursery all around. Our daughter is thriving there!

A one in million nursery for my daughter, who has loved it from her first day. Her key worker from her first year to her new one now, along with the other staff are excellent, caring and experienced, they teach the children from day one how to be independent and right from wrong, how to be confident
and caring and interested in the world! Being located in Whitely Village allows for great walks in the woods and field for sports days, walks and fresh air but the nursery has an excellent sized free flow garden. classes are separate due to age but can still be shared which allows for peer learning and also getting used to seeing other key workers so it’s not such a big shock the next year moving across. The freshly cooked food on site is nutritious and delicious (we know from days such as Mother’s Day breakfast, Christmas plays etc) Allergies are catered for and staff work with parents on routines from home so helping with potty training etc)! Can’t recommend enough!

After relocating to the area in the summer of 2021, we struggled to find full time childcare for our daughter in an environment that felt more homely, than corporate.
We were lucky to secure a place at Little Bears a few months later and have never looked back.
Our daughter absolutely loves it there,
she’s beaming when she goes in and loves talking about her friends and the staff. The environment is very welcoming, and the learning intentions each week are very well thought through. They also playball on a weekly basis and can go on nature walks on the surrounding grounds.
The food menu is balanced, nutritious and varied which was also important to us when selecting a childcare provider.
I’m delighted to have found such a warm, kind, and caring setting for our daughter.

Little Bears really care. Our son has been going for almost two years and he is excelling. He loves it at nursery and not only made great friends but through Little Bears caring and nurturing environment he is becoming a lovely little boy.

The staff and Keyworker are wonderful and understand his

needs and challenges, they guide and support while always communicating and chatting with us while giving us daily updates. The environment is lovely, in the middle of a private estate within a forest where outside play is always on the menu.

Our son had been to a couple of other local nurseries where it felt more like a business, Little Bears feels like a family and we couldnt be happier.

Our fantastic staff team work so hard to ensure we are offering the best care possible and we are so proud of them.

When we moved here and our son started at Little Bear's, he hardly had any English. He was only little and had to adjust to a whole new environment and language. The staff at Little Bear's were absolutely amazing, working with us to help him settle in, always being incredibly kind and understanding.
They always listened when we had any comments or questions and tried to put in place any measures we had discussed. The staff, in general, are all simply wonderful!

My son loves going to Little Bears. He is encouraged to learn, have fun and develop. Outdoor and indoor play are balanced well and given equal importance. Regular structured activity is themed each week to the learning intentions and as a parent, I feel really connected to my son's day through the weekly
updates and daily information chats with his keyworker. Little Bear's has responded excellently to the pandemic and I have every confidence in his health and care in this amazing and caring nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.314)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.314) out of 10 for Little Bears Day-Care - Whiteley Village is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.931 for Little Bears Day-Care - Whiteley Village is calculated as follows: ( (67 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.931
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.383 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Bears Day-Care - Whiteley Village is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 = 3.55
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 number of registered child places is 7.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.833
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

We also recognize the importance of our partnership with the parents and children in achieving the best results.

My qualifications include a level 5 diploma in Early Years and Childcare as well as a degree in English studies. I have been fortunate to have spent the last 15 years working in a variety of settings with different Early years philosophies and teaching approaches, different people, cultures and management styles.

This invaluable knowledge and experience has helped to shape the Little Bear’s methodology:
•   At Little Bear’s, my team and I will create a loving, nurturing and safe environment;
•   At Little Bear’s, we create experiences and memories for your children;
•   At Little Bear’s, children will be encouraged to develop so that they flourish and achieve their potential.

We are extremely passionate about Little Bear’s and therefore have invested in a staff team that is fully qualified. This ensures that our setting meets all the Early Years requirements at all times and provides high-quality care to children and their families.

We hope that we can demonstrate our vision and approach to childcare by welcoming you to our nursery.
