Little Flyers @ West Calder Nursery

My son is deaf and Little Flyers in West do all they can to accommodate him in the best way. I believe it was the best move I ever made to start him at a year - as his development has been fabulous. We have had bumps in the road with staff changing and management was not great for a short period of time. As soon as change, they were back on it. My son is having some difficulty with toilet training when at nursery, however, as soon as I expressed my concerns they put in place an excellent worker who is doing all and more to meet his needs.

Staff are so kind and supportive of our son. They adapt to his needs and understand what he wants or needs in the moment. He has come along so well since attending the nursery and has formed some really great bonds and relationships with key staff members. So pleased we chose Little Flyers West Calder and have recommended to friends and family to enrol here also.

My two children have attended West Calder Little Flyers since October 2024. Management and staff were fantastic at making me feel at ease during their settle period. My eldest son has individual development needs and the team were keen to support us as a family during their time at nursery. We receive fantastic feedback regarding both children's development and progression. I feel confident my children are safe and secure within the nursery environment and I can clearly see the positive bonds they have made with the staff team.

My children have been attending this nursery for over a year. It is a very good nursery allowing the children to develop in a safe and nurturing environment. Lots of activities are organised for the kids supporting their learning and development, lots of outdoor activities, and messy play.

She settled really well and is so happy while there, during the day updates you get with photos make you feel relaxed that she is well cared for. The staff are amazing and professional. I’m just so glad that she can attend such an amazing place.

My son has been attending for some time. When he started he was very shy and played by himself. Since attending he has become really confident and has made loads of friends. It has been great to see him grow and have lots of different experiences. The app is brilliant and allows us to follow what he is up to during the day. The staff are brilliant and he loves attending nursery.

This is the first time since my little one has been anywhere without me, he is finding the transition hard when I drop him off, however, when he is inside with the lovely colleagues he is straight into the toys. The app used is fantastic as seeing what they have been upto, also get messages from colleagues to say he is okay after having a breakdown going in - which makes me feel so much better, such lovely girls that work there, the activities are brilliant, colleagues are so friendly and helpful, the app also shows nappy changes (I'm sad and like to know his bowel movements haha) and what he has eaten that day, makes me feel so much better - being the control freak that I am, I love knowing these things. Facilities are brilliant and colleagues are so accommodating for your child needs. Honestly, so far it has made my going back to work so much easier, just take time for him to stop with the mum guilt trip haha.

My daughter loves the team at Little Flyers! She loves all the messy play and I have noticed a big difference in her listening skills and trying to talk to communicate. Would recommend.

Our son has been attending for almost 1 year and we could not be happier with the service. The staff are great with him and he has really good relationships with the staff also. All the staff are very friendly and make us feel welcome.

My 3 children attend Little Flyers @ West Calder - My 2 oldest are picked up from school by Little Flyers staff and attend in the 'After School' rooms where the staff are really friendly, helpful and informative - and the atmosphere is always great. My children actually ask me to pick them up as late as I can because they enjoy it so much! My youngest son attends the Junior rooms during the day and always has a very positive experience. The staff and management are 1st class. I would absolutely recommend Little Flyers @ West Calder.

The whole team are brilliant and very friendly. They made it so much easier for me to leave him knowing he was being so well looked after.

The nursery and team supporting our son into nursery have been fantastic.

He's 8 months and inevitably struggling with the change from home to nursery, from family to all the new faces. Little Flyers have been very supportive of him and us as we get used to new routines. We reasonable, measured and accommodating I'm grateful to them for the time and engagement they have given me.

He still struggles with the separation but that won't last forever. He finishes his days in good spirits, nice and chatty in his own way and thoroughly enjoys himself.

The team take great care to feed well, rest well, entertain and educate him striving hard to keep his days interesting and fun.

Little flyers are amazing their staff are extremely friendly and approachable. I have three children and all three attend Little Flyers (baby room and after school) they have helped my youngest come on massively with her talking and development.

Little Flyers is an amazing childcare provider with wonderful staff that are dedicated to looking after the safety and well-being of all children. They provide healthy food and snacks and a wide variety of activities to help kids develop a range of skills.

The staff are brilliant. They helped when my son was potty training and because of them he has been successful. The staff are amazing to both my children.

My daughter has been with Little Flyers West Calder for over 2 years now. She now spends mornings here and afternoons with her government-funded nursery. My daughter has an excellent relationship with the team and I have no doubt she is in safe and capable hands when with them. In the last 6 month's we have noticed a huge change in her confidence and independence skills which has been encouraged by her key worker. I return to work soon from maternity and I will have no hesitation introducing my son to their baby room when the time comes. I cannot recommend them enough.

Both our children have just started at this nursery and the staff have been so welcoming and friendly. Right from the beginning they have answered all our questions and made sure we had all the information we needed. The settling in sessions went great and the team there have helped our children settle in and they really enjoy it and can’t wait to get back. I feel the nursery tries to keep parents involved as much as possible and keeps them up to date with what’s happening. There’s a lot of little touches that make it unique and give it that family feel. A great choice of nursery for our children.

I have found Little Flyers @ West Calder to be a lovely setting to send my daughter to. The staff are very friendly and caring and do their best to help my daughter. I have been very impressed with the flexibility as I have had to change a few days and these have been covered by the nursery when they had space. Really happy we chose this nursery.

My son loves little flyers and always has great days of learning, playing and interaction with staff and children.

My son has just recently started this nursery this year. I must say I am over the moon with how the staff have been with him. Everyone knows him and says goodbye as we leave (even to the girls who don't work directly with him). The staff are always honest about how my son has been that day, even if he has been unsettled. This is all I ask! Just honesty about how he has been in himself and to know if he is ok. Its what every parent asks especially when leaving their child with people they don't know.

They always seem to have my son's best interest at heart and seem to really pay attention to him as an individual. You get daily reports as to how they have been that day and my husband actually questioned if I wrote one as it was so accurate to our boy! Like I say we have just started but so far we have been more than impressed! Xxx
