We selected Abeona Wartkon Nursery based on its stellar reputation. Initially, the experience was positive, with some staff providing excellent care. Over time, however, care standards dropped. Issues included our son being inappropriately dressed, using small nappies, and appearing dishevelled. The
nursery failed to ensure he wore proper footwear and often omitted the daily activity log from his bag. Despite formally raising these issues and requesting a meeting, the response was inadequate, with no formal acknowledgement or action plan. This lack of communication and resolution led to concerns about the nursery's ability to handle serious issues. Consequently, we decided to withdraw our son, a decision driven by the nursery's declining standards and poor response to our concerns. We hope the nursery will improve its processes and restore confidence in its care.

Despite the hard work that goes into the daily running of the nursery by the room staff, I am not able to recommend this nursery.
Despite appearances, the owner is an IT consultant, not based locally. He has ultimate control over the nursery and any decision making as he runs the finances and is happy
to use the well-being of very young children as leverage.
I have had 2 upsetting episodes where I have had unexpected bills from the nursery due to errors their end in their finances. I pay the given invoice every month and asked on numerous occasions when I spotted anomalies and was told everything was fine, then 2 years down the line have had money demanded with little notice, or my child would face suspension. The tone of these demands are threatening and accusatory.
I have found out that I am not the only parent who has fallen victim to these bully tactics.
Despite the best efforts of the front facing staff, money is at the centre of this nursery, not children or their families.

My son joined for his last year of pre-school and I wish he'd been there from the start of his care. The facilities and staff are exceptional and he has absolutely flourished at Abeona! Their events are wonderful and well organised, the extra activities like theatre trips, Spanish lessons, and in-house
swimming are way beyond what I would expect of a preschool. The graduation ceremony was an absolute joy and my son has been prepared well to start school in September. We will miss being part of the Abeona family!

Both my children have attended the nursery spanning the last 7 years. They have loved every minute. The staff have always been caring and kind and they have had so many opportunities. With a huge garden, forest area and animals it really has everything. Set in a converted house also gives it a homely
feel. The parties they put on for the children are always wonderful as are the trips, visitors and external companies that provide dance, singing and sports. Also, it has a swimming pool so both children have swam once a week since starting! We fully recommend this nursery and both our children have flourished having been there.

My son came on leaps and bounds joining Abeona Nursery. His speech, walking, swimming and toileting have been amazing. All the staff have been so caring and attentive to all my son's requirements. He is sad to be leaving.

Abeona is such a wonderful nursery. The support they have provided to me with my daughter has been incredible. My daughter has attended the nursery since she was 9 months old. They have supported me with introducing her to a wide variety of foods. She loves swimming, interactive storytelling, singing
and signing, and her development has been enriched by all the activities they have done. When I collect her in the afternoon she is always so happy and the staff are all so caring and always take the time to talk everything through with me. I highly recommend Abeona.

My little boy attends Abeona and I wouldn’t choose to send him anywhere else - the care he receives is amazing and the girls who look after him do such an amazing job, he’s grown and developed so much since he started there! The food always sounds amazing and they do so many extracurricular activities,
there’s so much they do. Extremely happy with Abeona!

My daughter has attended Abeona since she was 11 months old, she has learnt so much and loves all of the extracurricular activities including teddy tennis and Spanish. All of the animals were a massive thumbs up for me as I work in the Veterinary industry (my fave being the pigs!) I love all the rooms
that my daughter has been in and I'll be really sad to see her leave preschool. Thanks for all you do for all the children

My daughter has been attending Abeona since she was 14 months old and is due to leave to start school in September. I’m so grateful to Abeona for the care and support they’ve given my child. She has done so much in her time at nursery, she has learned so much, had so many fun times. I really don’t think
she’d be quite as confident and sociable without their input. The staff are lovely, very caring and they always go the extra mile to help. The manager is incredibly helpful and tries to be as flexible and supportive as possible, which really makes a difference when juggling childcare and other commitments. The huge, beautiful garden really adds to the children’s experience and the added extras - swimming, sports, the odd bouncy castle, trips to the theatre etc, are an enjoyable bonus. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Abeona for an excellent all-round nursery experience.

My son has been going to Abeona Warkton since he was 9 months old and will be leaving in August. I can honestly say I have nothing but brilliant things to say about the nursery. From the staff to the food to the extra activities. So much thought is put into each and every session. I would recommend
the nursery at every possible chance and have done to friends and family. Amazing job thank you so much for giving my son an amazing start to his education and school life.

My daughter loves it. I am happy to leave my little one there because I know she is in good hands and most of the time when I get her home I notice that she knows new things. The fact that they have animals, and a pool makes it different from the others and my baby happier.

I sent my little boy here back in March and my boy goes in happy and comes out happy, never had an issue, always well looked after and has regular nappy changes and fed well. A big garden with lots of animals in which are his favourite things, lots of different things to do there every time he goes,
staff seem friendly, couldn’t fault any of it.

All three of my children have attended Abeona over the last few years, we reluctantly moved my youngest at the beginning of the year due to moving house. During the covid-19 pandemic, the nursery he attended closed its doors, I emailed the manager about possibly accepting him and his school-age sister
on a temporary placement and they were able to offer them a space with immediate effect and sorted this out for me very quickly. When I dropped my children yesterday, they were greeted as though they had never been away, the same friendly faces were there to welcome them. Upon collection, the children had the biggest smiles, they’d been swimming, playing in the garden, learning about the earth, and the manager has even made up a pack of schoolwork for my daughter and she can’t wait to get started when they’re back on Monday.
The care from the staff has always been second to none and this is evidently continuing through these difficult times. I would wholeheartedly recommend Abeona to anyone.

I changed my sons nursery to Abeona as he was diagnosed with speech delay and needed more help than his previous setting could offer. Abeona has a SENCO, who works with my son on a weekly basis and creates personalised plans for him monthly to help him develop. He has come on leaps and bounds thanks
to her and the other staff here, I am extremely happy with the love and attention they give him and others. The setting is unique with on site swimming pool, huge garden, sand pit, pigs and goats! Great variety of food all prepared on site. Weekly activities such as swimming lessons, Hartbeeps, football, gymnastics, etc. all included in fees. They so do organised family activity days, again all included in fees, which is well organised and great fun for all the family. Truly giving my son memories to last a lifetime. Best thing I ever did was send him here, and would 110% recommend to anyone, especially if their child has more needs.

Have been really impressed with how my son has come on socially and academically since starting nursery especially since moving up to the toddler room with his speech etc. Have never faulted the care at any time and have felt confident in leaving my son from day one.

Lovely nursery, such a nice setting and atmosphere, staff always friendly and I’m
happy in the knowledge that he’ll be well looked after whilst I’m at work and also well fed, he eats a lot! Nice events organised for us to join the children at Mother’s Day and other times, that’s a lovely touch. One
of the highly spoken nurseries in Kettering. Would definitely recommend.

Let me first say that I have already recommended this nursery to co-workers living in the area. My daughter has been at Abeona for almost two years and we love it there. The staff are great. I am amazed that almost from day one, they all seemed to know my daughter's name, including the director. I get
a real sense that my daughter is being cared for and nurtured - not just looked after. With activities such as swimming, heartbeeps singalongs, lots of messy play, arts and crafts and even Spanish lessons, my little one is exposed to so many different learning experiences. This is a great place to learn and grow.

As a parent I know my child is in a safe environment and enjoys each day learning and developing new skills. My child gets so excited to go nursery and he is only 18 months old. The variety of activities they offer is great, my little one has got so much confidence in the water and around animals since
coming to the nursery. The girls are friendly and happy to help with many problems.

Current Review Score: 2.5 (2.545)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 2.5 (2.545) out of 10 for Abeona Warkton is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 2.5 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 0 out of 5 from 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 2.545 for Abeona Warkton is calculated as follows: ( (1 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 2.545
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Abeona Warkton is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) =
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 number of registered child places is 8. 0 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
