Holly Grange Montessori provides nursery education and outstanding childcare for children aged from 3 months to 5 years at the nursery based in Lymm.

It is located in a converted house and has a large outdoor space including an allotment, mud kitchen and 'loose parts' area; encouraging children to be in touch with the natural world.

It follows the EYFS framework using a Montessori philosophy and has achieved an ‘outstanding’ outcome with Ofsted, most recently in November 2019.

Holly Grange also has an on and off-site forest schools, as it believes that forest schools complement the Montessori philosophy.

Forest school sessions are led by a Level 3 qualified forest school teachers and support each child’s learning through developing practical skills and social interactions, communication skills and the physical development of children.

Holly Grange is the most amazing nursery. My child has attended the nursery since August 2024. When he started he struggled to settle as he had never left us before. The staff at the nursery are so kind, caring and supportive. The nursery arranged extra settling in sessions for my child to support with
transition. He quickly settled into daily routines and 10 months on he is part of the Holly Grange family.


He LOVES nursery, he now asks to go to nursery, walks in with the biggest smile and the staff greet him with the warmest of welcomes. I know that my son is happy, safe and loved and in the best possible care whilst I am at work. His independence, speech, language and communication skills have developed so much since starting at Holly Grange.


Fantastic nursery, amazing staff and I would highly recommend to all parents/carers looking for a nursery place.

My son attends this nursery and he has come on so much since starting, I absolutely love everything about the nursery, the staff, the facilities, the ethos, and how they are with the children, they are very knowledgeable. All activities are purposeful and promote lots of learning opportunities. I couldn't
have chosen a better nursery. It is such a tough decision as a parent choosing the right nursery for your child but I can definitely say I made the right choice as my son absolutely loves it and I feel happy leaving him every morning as I know he is going to have so much fun and it is a home from home. My son has severe allergies and they always try their best to ensure he is safe and has a good variety of foods to eat as his diet is quite restricted due to the allergies.

I could not be happier with Holly Grange. They treat the children with such respect at all times and have taught them more than I could have ever thought. The children all have wonderful manners and treat each other with kindness based on the examples placed by the staff.

I have sent both of my children to Holly Grange, and it is simply a wonderful nursery - my children have been nurtured, taught amazing routines, spent time learning about nature and the environment and have been immensely happy there throughout - it's a special place!

Pleased we chose Holly Grange for our son. He is so happy going into nursery and we have seen him progress so much since starting. The ethos and Montessori approach is exactly right for him and all the staff are so committed and know each child so well. Would definitely recommend it.

My child thoroughly enjoys their time at Holly Grange, they have learnt so much since being there, the staff are lovely very kind, dedicated and helpful.
Every day has a different wide range of activities and I do think this has helped with my child's development.
We knew as soon as we saw the nursery
it was the right setting for us and our child and would 100% recommend the nursery.

Both our children really look forward to their 3 days a week at Holly Grange Montessori Nursery. They have been there since babies and we have been delighted with their progression and the care and support that the teachers provide. The food is always homemade and healthy with lots of taste education
for the kids which they regularly talk about and enjoy. The outdoor space is a favourite with trees to climb, learning to grow plants and using gardening tools. The independence they have from a young age is lovely to see and has certainly pushed us along at home to allow this to flourish.

My son has been going here for 3 years and our youngest son will be joining in Autumn. It has been a brilliant nursery for us, the staff are attentive and always support my son's development. The small class sizes have allowed my son to grow in confidence. The Montessori education has allowed my son's
independence to flourish, he can dress himself and loves to set the table! I feel so lucky that my youngest child has the opportunity to come to this nursery.

Excellent nursery, kind and friendly staff and my daughter loves it there. The outside area is fantastic and see so much development from all the activities they do each day. Also like that the food is made fresh each day.

I'm so pleased that we chose Holly Grange for our little girl.
With smaller class sizes we really feel that all the staff have got to know our child so well and really pay attention to all of her needs. I was so nervous about allowing someone else to look after her, but I needn't have been. All the
staff are so caring, empathetic and supportive.
We love that there is a robust curriculum for the children. With the Montessori approach, they are learning new skills all the time. The staff encourage and nurtures each individual child's
development. The variation in their daily activities is wonderful and imaginative. Our child's development has flourished at Holly Grange!
There's a real focus on being outside; the outdoor space is particularly brilliant! The baby area is really well thought out, and the woodland area is clearly well-loved by the children (Some of the teachers are Forest School trained). The children engage with planting flowers and vegetables, and watch them grow!

Our son has attended Holly Grange for the past 18 months and I don't feel that we could have found a better childcare option.

All three of my children have attended Holly Grange over the last few years. It’s been a real pleasure to see them grow and develop there. From the extensive wooded garden, the homely inviting rooms, everything is so well thought out and the children’s experiences are always put first. The staff are
excellent, they demonstrate real insight into an individual child’s needs and personality. The Holly Grange Montessori way is integral to the nursery and allows for a really calming environment. My eldest still benefits from the Holly Grange Montessori practice, despite now being at school. The things they learn at the nursery really stay with them. Thank you to everyone at Holly Grange Montessori for giving my kids such good starts in life.

My son has really settled in well at Holly Grange. He's been there six months now and the staff have made him and us feel so welcome and at ease with leaving him.

I was so apprehensive about putting our baby boy into nursery, however from the moment I contacted the Holly Grange, I knew there was no other nursery our boy could go. They are so caring to each child and nothing is too much trouble. I am a control freak when it comes to what I feed my son but at this
nursery the meals are so well thought out that I have absolutely no problem, they are great. The staff are genuinely lovely people and treat your baby as their own. My son now puts his arms out to the staff and it is just wonderful to see. I could go on and on about this nursery and how it excels in every department. Thank you.

Holly Grange Montessori is the nicest and kindest environment for your little ones. We can not recommend the nursery enough, the staff are lovely and very caring.
They really look after our daughter's needs whilst learning through play and we love their outdoor and forest school setting.
She beams
every morning when we drop her off and we believe she is thriving there due to the carers and loving and fun environment.

This was the only nursery we were ever going to send my daughter to. The care and attention my son received whilst he was here was outstanding, so for us, this was the only place we wanted.
The staff are caring, patient and understanding with the children and the range of activities planned by the
staff is varied and excellent. My daughter loves going and she adores the practitioners in the room. We are confident leaving our daughter at this nursery knowing shes happy and well looked after. All staff and the management team are friendly and approachable. We are happy to still be part of the Holly Grange Family.

My son has attended this nursery since he was 10 months old. He is now 2.5 years and thriving. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional and show a real passion for the children and their care and education. As they follow the Montessori principle, I believe the education of the children to
be at an incredibly high standard. They are also incredibly eco-friendly which I love. They spend lots of time outside in their wonderful outdoor area and take part in extra activities like a forest school
And Spanish lessons. I wouldn’t want to send my son to any other nursery and would recommend this nursery to anyone.

I joined Holly Grange in 2014 then left to gain my teaching qualification and worked as a reception teacher in a school in Manchester. Since coming back as Nursery Manager in 2020 I’ve gained my Montessori diploma, however my greatest achievement has been the arrival of our little boy Theo in 2021 & Louis in 2024.
Both boys attend/ed Holly Grange so I understand the importance of great communication and parent partnership.
