This is a lovely nursery with staff who care about every child and their individual needs. They take the initiative each week to develop new and creative activities. There is an excellent outdoor space which the nursery teachers make the most of. For example, there have been some great initiatives recently teaching the children how to plant seeds and put out food for the birds. Thank you, Kindred Girton!
Every room has seen my child develop new skills and I really feel like staff know my child when they are giving feedback. It is invaluable to leave your child knowing that they will have fun and be well cared for. Thank you all so much!
The staff are excellent and my children are very happy! The staff show interest in my children and I feel confident leaving my little ones in their care. They seem experienced and confident in their roles and this is very reassuring for me as a parent. The staff are always friendly, professional, empathetic and show kindness to my children. My little ones are always smiling at drop off and pick up and this is everything for us! Thank you.
Absolutely outstanding staff! They understood both my kids and managed to encourage and challenge them according to their needs. Every day they seem to do something new and exciting with the kids be it construction, set up a play or crafts.
All in all we are very happy with how our daughter has been treated at Kindred Girton. She enjoys her time there and comes home keen to show us any new skills she has learnt that day.
The children of Buttercup room always seem friendly and happy whenever I come in to pick up our daughter which I am sure speaks volumes.
However, one area for improvement is reporting. It would be good if staff could use the functionality of the new app to report to parents on all the basics (eating, drinking, sleeping and any issues etc) rather than parents having to draw it out of the staff at pickup.
Absolutely love this nursery, I cannot say enough good things about it. My oldest child attended a few years ago from age 15 months and now my 2-year-old has started there. I have always felt that my children are in such good hands here and in the care of the most professional and caring people. Great facilities and play areas and everything just seems so well organised.
Both of my children have been at this nursery over the last 4 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are fantastic, very attentive, and caring towards the children. They build really strong bonds with the children and provide excellent feedback as to how their day has been. The facilities are excellent, in particular the large outdoor play spaces that all the children enjoy. There are lots of different activities and fun things to do. Additional activities like the forest school and monkeynastix are also very good. The children enjoy a good variety of food options which are cooked on site. In the pre-school year, they do a really good job at the beginning to get the children prepared for school and the nursery is particularly helpful at accommodating transition days at school. Overall this is an excellent nursery and I would highly recommend it.
He is now 2 and has been attending (on and off due to Covid) since he was 10 months.
Everyone is always attentive and friendly and he enjoys going and does a variety of activities every week.

Meet the Team (1)
Hello, my name is Sophie Smith, and I am the Nursery Manager here at Kindred Girton.
I have been working at Kindred Girton since 2016, when I joined as a young apprentice. Over the last 7 years, I have grown and travelled through all roles within the nursery from a key person to room lead, and now deputy manager. Throughout this time, I have become level 3 qualified in my Early Years, I am the ENCO representative (equality & Needs co-ordinator), MHFA, SENCO & DSL.
As my journey and career have blossomed over the years, my passions have remained true to my first years of childcare – Ensuring all children feel safe, secure and represented within my nursery enabling and supporting them to thrive in learning, development, natural curiosity and exploration. I am passionate about children exploring the natural world around them. My love and understanding of outdoor learning is something I take pride in here at Kindred Girton - so you may see me in the main office or you may find me with my wellies on in our garden allotment.
