Our son started Blue Ryder end of January. We are first time parents so starting nursery was a big transition for him and for us. We instantly felt that the staff are genuinely very caring towards him. His two key workers are wonderful and he formed an immediate attachment with them. He was fussy with his diet prior to starting but now eats a fantastic range of food and is very food orientated. We love seeing the updates on the app as it gives us peace of mind seeing how much he has slept, ate, drank and had nappy changes. The photos and videos have made it easier returning to work after mat leave and knowing that he is having fun. The administrator is very responsive. The staff are always open and transparent when he's had any challenges or a bad day. We have noticed lots of positive changes with his development and communication. It was important for us to chose a nursery that is multicultural and that supports diversity. As same sex parents we have found the nursery inclusive.
Our son has been at Alexandra Park for almost 2 years and loves it there, always running in and excited to go to nursery. The staff are so friendly and caring, they have been great with everything from room transitions, potty training support, naps, and fantastic communication on what they're up to both through the app or happy to chat as long as you want at pick up. We love the outdoor space and variety of activities as well as Spanish exposure. The annual art exhibition is also lovely. We have been very grateful with flexibility with changing days, which has been another huge help. This nursery isn't the closest to our home but we chose it over viewing others in Didsbury/Withington and have been extremely happy with our decision and seeing our son flourish there. Highly recommend!
We have only joined the nursery beginning of the month but the experience has been great so far. Really easy to reach to for admin related questions over the phone and really great support when it comes to settling in. As a first time parent it has been a journey sending our one year old to nursery but the support has been amazing and she is starting to love it 2 weeks in! I also appreciated the possibility to give the nursery a ring to check how she is getting on during the day.
This is a fantastic nursery which fosters a lovely environment for young children of any age. Great for play, learning, socialising and more. Amazing staff in all rooms and management. Couldn't ask for anything better
We love this nursery, and so does our 1-year-old. The staff are brilliant, and the nursery is much bigger than others locally, with a lovely outdoor space and gardens. It's close to Alexandra Park and has parking right outside. This can be a bit busy, but you never wait more than a couple of minutes for a space. There are always creative activities going on from painting to light shows and sensory rooms. The food is also amazing, it's a chef prepared vegetarian menu which changes all the time. I would highly recommend to other parents in South Manchester!
We've had a great experience here so far, our little one really loves it! The art and child led pedagogy is incredible and the staff are really experienced and lovely with the kids. Our little one adores his key worker and we receive photos and videos of him having a great time there! They have a brilliant garden which is important to us too. Plus a vegetarian menu and celebrations of different cultural events throughout the year (the older children did a Lunar new year procession throughout the classes!) - we highly recommend this nursery!
So glad to hear your little one loves it here! We're thrilled you appreciate our child-led approach, amazing staff, and beautiful garden. The cultural celebrations and vegetarian menu are things we love too! Thanks for the recommendation!
As a parent of a child with additional needs, I'm so grateful for the nursery's thoughtful approach. They've worked with us to create an individualised learning plan and have provided evidence to help us get on the waitlist for assessments. They also make transitions between rooms so much easier for the children, with a very gradual and supportive approach.
And the food is wonderful! My child eats so much more here than at home, which is a huge bonus. We couldn't be happier with the care and support our child receives.
Thank you for your lovely review! We're so glad your child feels happy and settled here. It's great to hear you appreciate our play-based learning, supportive transitions, and individualized approach. We're always here to help, and we're thrilled to be part of your child's journey.
The only downside is that admin could be better, but it has improved and they have put systems in place in the past couple of years, which have made things more streamlined. In my experience, this tends to be the same across all nurseries though!
Thanks so much for your lovely review. We're so happy your children have enjoyed their time at Alexandra Park and that the child-led approach has worked so well for your family. We appreciate your feedback and are glad you've noticed the admin improvements.
