Both of our children have gone to The Nest and we couldn't be happier. It's a lovely small nursery with exceptionally high standards. They have a child-led approach to play and really do cover such a variety of activities and topics including Sing-and-Sign and dance classes. I love to see the posts on Tapestry of what they have got up to that week. They dealt with Covid-19 amazingly - adjusting to what was needed at the time and were very diligent over the last few years in ensuring the children were protected. Food-wise, a lot of thought goes into what they feed the children to give them a balanced diet and I think they are fed better there than at home! Lastly, the staff are a wonderful group, as it's a smaller nursery you get to know everyone and staff turnover is low. I think my son's key worker is his favourite person in the world! Highly, highly recommended! Thank you everyone in the team.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I will pass this on to the staff to see. Thanks again, Jacqui.
The perfect size of nursery, its relatively small size, means you get to know all the staff well and they know you and your child inside out. We love their independence ethos and have started to see these skills at home as well. They have fantastic extracurricular classes which our little boy loves. We would highly recommend it.
Thank you for your review and feedback, this enables us to reflect on our practice and to improve.
Our daughter has been at The Nest since October 2021, after we moved to the area. Joining at aged 3, she was very settled at her old nursery but we haven't had a moment of worry about her transition because of the wonderfully warm, welcoming and extremely personalised care she receives. The Nest is a very special place where each child is well-known and respected for their individuality. There is a wonderful, varied array of activities on offer that provide the kind of routine my daughter thrives on - from Spanish and dance class, to woodwork and cookery class. You get a real sense of the care and attention the children receive from little stories that come home - how they learn how important it is to drink water to stay 'hydrated' (a word she certainly didn't learn at home!) to learning about nature and other topics. We love the Nest and the staff, who we have come to know well - everything is personal, individualised and that is not easy to find.
Thank you so much for your review. Your little girl is so much fun and loves helping out with chores.
My son has been at the Nest for more than 2 years and we are very happy. He loves his days at nursery, the general environment, and all the staff. The staff balance both childcare, fun, and learning aspects really well and he is nurtured and has developed really well in his time there. The nursery is supportive of the parents too and we have made coordinated plans to encourage our son’s development.
Dear Alistair, thank you so much for your review. We are glad you are happy at the Nest.
My son has been at the Nest for the past three years and when we had our daughter there was no question that we wanted to send her to the Nest as well. The staff are extremely nurturing and supportive of the children's individual interests. They are always coming up with imaginative activities. My son especially loves to do woodworking and Spanish class and he always comes home very excited when they have dinner by the campfire. I have been very happy at the Nest and I would highly recommend it.
Thank you so much for your review, it gives the staff a boost to receive praise.
I would have no hesitation in recommending The Nest Day Nursery. They really have the needs of the children at the heart of what the do. The food is of a very high standard with the menus designed with a nationalist. They treat each child as an individual and will develop their interests.
The Nest is a truly wonderful nursery. My son has thrived there since he started when he was one, just over three years ago, and my second son starts in March. The staff are kind and caring and go above and beyond to get to know your child individually. The setting and resources are great (plus immaculately clean), and the activities are always well thought through and child led. My son is so happy and independent, and I believe that is partly down to the care The Nest has shown him in his early years. He will be so sad to leave when he goes to school in September.
Thank you for your feedback; it does make all the difference when staff get great feedback.
We were extremely thankful that our eldest child got into The Nest Day Nursery, I honestly believe they have helped mould her into the little girl she is now with such fond memories. Hence it was the natural choice for our son, who is currently loving his time there. The Nest has a wonderful homely feel ensuring the children feel comfortable and safe. You honestly believe they're going from home to home. As a key worker, they were priceless in staying open for both our children. A sign that this nursery really cares not only for the children they take look after but also, for the community as a whole.
Thank you for your review. We feel it is important to be part of the community, with Covid we cannot go out visiting, eg. local centres like we used to, which is a shame.
The Nest is an exceptional nursery, with a warm, homely and family-oriented environment. Our daughter had an amazing time there and settled in immediately. The staff were welcoming and engaging throughout, and their attention to detail and ability to understand and support the specific development needs of our daughter were fantastic. We all leave with very fond memories of our time there.
Cracking little nursery; who will absolutely go out of their way to support you, and most importantly, your child. Our child has developed incredibly whilst being at nursery and always looks forwards to his days. Can’t wait to see him continue developing over the coming months/years!
Thank you so much for your review, all the team appreciates such nice comments.
Our son spent 18-months at The Nest and loved every minute of it! We were so impressed by the care he received and the personal attention he received from the wonderful staff. We will miss this fantastic nursery and the brilliant, caring, staff.
Thank you for your lovely review, it was a pleasure to have your child at The Nest.
We changed our daughter to The Nest from another local nursery and haven’t looked back. The staff are all very friendly and actively involved with the children. The activities they do all day are so creative and our daughter has thrived. It is a lovely homely setting used imaginatively. The garden is small but definitely made the most of. There is also a good community amongst the parents due to events that the nursery runs.
The staff are very friendly. Although the outside space isn’t huge they use it very well and I like how the children go outside in it every day to play.
Many thanks for your feedback.
A lovely homely nursery. Staff are great and the activities are well planned and engaging. Setting is very clean and well equipped. Menus are great too. My daughter has been very happy there since starting 2 years ago
The care that has been provided to our daughter has been second to none. It’s a small, homely nursery with a focus on the needs of the child as an individual. Our daughter has been in the setting for over 2 years and our son is soon to start. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds and we’re really grateful to the manager and the team.
A wonderful nurturing small nursery. We have been so delighted with the care and knowledge of child development of all the staff at the Nest. The activities are interesting, imaginative, varied, personalised to the interests of the children and our son adores both his key worker and being part of the Nest 'family'. Being a small nursery means that the children and adults know each other really well, the atmosphere is always calm and it really is like an extended family for our son. We couldn't be happier with the care he receives there.
Thank you so much for this lovely review.
Amazing small nursery, clean, homely, great range of resources, lovely experienced genuine caring staff. Good value for money. Nice outdoor space with some unique equipment. Short walk to train station for parents.
