Couldn't be happier with Atherton House. Our son has attended for just over a year and we feel great knowing how well he is cared for each day he attends. The staff take time to get to know every child and it really shows in how happy they are.

My son has just finished his nursery journey at Atherton House, after three years. He has been looked after so well since his time in the baby room. The experiences and friendships have been so positive and he has had the very best care from all the staff. Atherton is much more than I ever expected.
He has grown with confidence, developed so many skills and he has enjoyed every minute. My daughter is about to start her nursery journey with Atherton. I wouldn't trust anyone else, I highly recommend Atherton House.

Both my children have attended Atherton House School from aged 12 months. Both children have been so happy attending there. I have dropped them off knowing they are well looked after and supported in their development. The small size means there is a family feel about the place. Today was my daughter's
first day of school and she wanted to go back to Atherton to show them her uniform. We had a lovely welcome as always and a fuss was made including her photo being taken.

Fantastic nursery, every member of staff knows each child and are thoroughly invested in their learning and development. My son has just left and I don’t think he could be better prepared for starting reception. My daughter is about to start in the baby room and will no doubt love nursery as much as
her brother. Atherton has fostered really strong relationships with both my son and myself and my husband as parents, I highly recommend it.

Our little boy has just finished Atherton House School after four fantastic years here. He started when he was just ten months and during our time there the staff have become like an extension of our family. I was initially drawn to Atherton House because of how welcoming the staff were at our first
visit and I loved that each room has staff of all ages. As our little boy starts school I can hand on heart say that the staff are the heart and soul of Atherton House and contribute to all the children’s development, health and wellbeing. I can not thank them enough for all the support they gave our son through his speech therapy treatment, indeed the staff were the first ones to pick up he had an issue and worked closely with us to ensure he was supported with his speech development during his nursery sessions. I can not recommend Atherton House highly enough.

Both of my daughters have attended Atherton House and have been extremely happy there. My youngest daughter is currently in Preschool and she happily skips in each day. She comes home telling me all about the range of activities she has done and the fun she has had (I especially appreciate all the messy
activities they do there!) There is a real 'home from home' atmosphere and I will be extremely sad to say goodbye once my daughter leaves. I can't recommend them enough.

My son loved his time at Atherton House School. The staff work extremely hard to ensure that children in their care feel happy, safe and valued. The activities that are planned are excellent and as well as providing numerous educational opportunities they are also enjoyable. Staff take time to understand
each child and their needs and interests and they encourage and nurture individually. My son was lucky to attend this nursery. He will miss it very much.

Atherton House and its staff are like family friends. Three of our children have attended and they have always received excellent care and nurturing. There is always a smile to greet you and the staff go to great effort to really know and understand each child. Whenever we have needed flexibility or
extra help Atherton will always try to accommodate.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.083)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.083) out of 10 for Atherton House School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Atherton House School is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.083 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Atherton House School is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.083
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
